Bapatla Collector restores ownership of 102 acres to 87 farmers in Andhra
The 87 farmers, who have been cultivating the land for generations, will be issued passbooks, granting them full ownership and legal rights. The issue dates back to 1987, when the land was erroneously recorded as government wasteland by revenue officials, despite continuous cultivation by the rightful owners. The misclassification went uncorrected for over six decades, leaving the farmers without legal claim to their land.
The farmers appealed to the Collector recently, highlighting the difficulties caused by their land being listed under restricted categories. Upon investigation, the district administration reviewed old revenue records and concluded that the land indeed belonged to the farmers. After consulting with higher authorities, the land was officially recognised as cultivable private land.
Bapatla District Collector J Venkata Murali assured the farmers that the updated entries would be made in revenue records and that each of them would receive documentation confirming full ownership. RDO Ramalakshmi (Repalle), Nizampatnam tahsildar M Srinivasa Rao, and farmers from Muttupalli village participated in the meeting.

Speaking at a meeting with the affected farmers at the Collectorate on Friday, he stated that the 102 acres, classified under Section 22 as prohibited land, will now be officially recognised as privately owned agricultural land. 432 special camps to be held under 'Ungaludan Stalin' scheme in Salem
As part of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' initiative announced by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, a total of 432 special camps will be organised across Salem district from July 15 to November 15, 2025, to take government services directly to the people, said Collector R. Brindha Devi on Saturday (July 12, 2025). Briefing media persons at the Collectorate, she said the scheme will be launched state-wide on July 15, 2025, and aims to address people's grievances by delivering public services at their doorstep, particularly in remote areas. A total of 120 camps will be conducted in Salem during the first phase, from July 15 to August 14, 2025. The camps will cover both urban and rural areas, with 168 camps in urban regions and 264 in rural areas. To create awareness and facilitate participation, 1,161 volunteers have been engaged in a door-to-door campaign since July 8, distributing application forms and scheme-related information booklets. The Collector said a wide range of government services will also be provided . In urban areas, 43 services from 13 departments will be made available, while in rural areas, 46 services from 15 departments will be offered. Applications received at the camps will be processed within 45 days, she added. She also stated that women eligible for the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme, who may have missed applying earlier, can submit their applications at these camps. Applications for this scheme will be accepted only at the 'Ungaludan Stalin' camps. The camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the public is encouraged to participate and avail themselves of the services offered. District Revenue Officer R. Ravikumar was also present at the press meet.

Release of fee reimbursement dues demanded
Guntur: Studentsunder the banner of All India Students Federation (AISF) on Friday conducted a maha dharna at the Collectorate here to mount pressure on the coalition government to release the fee reimbursement dues of Rs 6,400 crore immediately. They criticised that HRD Minister Nara Lokesh promised to release the fee reimbursement dues in the State Budget Assembly session, but so far he failed to fulfil his promise. Addressing the gathering, AISF state joint secretary Sk Mastan Sharif said due to delay in release of fee reimbursement dues, the students who passed degree, engineering, polytechnic, and other courses were not getting their TCs and college managements are not giving TCs and other certificates. As a result, the students are facing a lot of problems. He demanded that the government abolish GO No 77 immediately. AISF state girls wing convener Bala Navyasri criticised that the government is confined to celebrating victory of one year ruling. She warned that if the government did not respond, they would intensify their agitation. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the DRO at the Collectorate. AISF district secretary Yashwant, leaders Siva, Amarnath, Ajay, Rahul were among those who participated.
