‘BLACKPINK's new track is so bad, it's hilarious': Fans slam JUMP as a ‘B-class' song at DEADLINE tour debut

BLACKPINK kicked off their highly awaited DEADLINE tour on July 5. The YG Entertainment girl group, who ended their individual contracts with the agency last year to focus on solo careers, reunited after two long years since their commercially successful BORN PINK world tour. However, their new single JUMP, which dropped during the tour's first stop in Seoul, left many fans underwhelmed. While international fans seem excited about the track's upbeat energy and rock fusion, Korean netizens were visibly disappointed and even shocked, saying the song has 'no BLACKPINK appeal' and labelling it a 'B-track.'

During their solo run, all four members — Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé — dropped successful albums and even launched their own labels. But the hype around their full-group comeback was on a different level. Ahead of the song release, YG only dropped a tiny 17-second teaser on social media. The clip was fast-paced, a bass-heavy beat building up, and ended with a mysterious voice saying, 'Jump.' The teaser barely gave anything away, but fans were already expecting another 'BLACKPINK in your area'-style anthem. Rosé even acknowledged the comeback on Instagram, writing, 'Blinks, we're coming back tomorrow.' The excitement around the track had been building for weeks, BLACKPINK had even posted a Seoul city map on their website with tags like 'Do Not Jump,' and fans instantly sensed something was coming.

But once the group actually performed Jump live on stage at the Goyang Sports Complex, the internet went quiet, and not everyone was thrilled. Clips from the concert spread fast. On Korean forum TheQoo, one post slamming the song hit the HOT page and racked up over 1,000 comments. Many K-netiznes felt, the song didn't live up to the BLACKPINK standard. Some called it 'a B-class track,' others said 'it's so bad it's hilarious.' A few questioned why this was the song they came back with after such a long break. 'Wow… so this is the kind of song they get after not renewing their contracts,' one commented.

While the criticism was mostly directed towards the label, many international fans came to the defense on Twitter, saying it is one of the best energetic and youthful songs they've come across in a while. Even on YouTube, BLACKPINK's subscribers increased dramatically, close to 97 million followers already. It's worth noting: the studio version of the song isn't out yet, so opinions might shift once the official audio drops.
For the unversed, the DEADLINE tour spans 31 shows across 16 cities. BLINKs in LA, New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Bangkok can look forward to new unreleased songs. According to the agency, the Seoul opening shows are much bigger in scale compared to BLACKPINK's Born Pink tour. They've also added a campaign against scalped tickets in partnership with the Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association. 'JUMP' is BLACKPINK's first official release (aside from the 2023 game OST The Girls) since Born Pink in September 2022.

From BTS J-Hope, Lee Min-ho, to SEVENTEEN: Celebs attend BLACKPINK's star-studded 'Deadline' concert

BLACKPINK, the global K-pop sensation, officially kicked off their highly anticipated world tour, Deadline, on July 4, in Goyang, Seoul, marking a powerful reunion of the quartet following their respective solo endeavours. After months of individual projects and solo releases, Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo have reunited on stage, much to the elation of fans worldwide. The second night of BLACKPINK's Goyang concert drew widespread attention not only for BLACKPINK's electrifying performance but also for the high-profile attendees who filled the audience. From top K-pop idols to leading Korean actors, the venue was brimming with star power. Among the most talked-about guests was BTS' J-Hope, whose entrance reportedly caused quite a stir. A concert-goer remarked, "Someone who attended BLACKPINK's concert today said that he thought there was an earthquake when J-Hope entered the area (sic)." Fans echoed the sentiment, expressing amazement at the crossover of major fandoms in one space. SEVENTEEN members Mingyu, The8, and Jeonghan also made an appearance, further fuelling excitement. One fan hilariously declared, "MINGYU 5TH BLACKPINK MEMBER get him on stage now (sic)," while another couldn't contain their shock: 'OH MY GOD???? JEONGHAN AND KENTARO AT THE BLACKPINK CONCERT???? (sic)' In addition to idol stars, the concert also welcomed renowned actors. Lee Min-ho, Jisoo's 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' co-star and one of Korea's most celebrated actors, drew admiration from fans after sharing photos from the event. One fan posted, "Jisoo's master is here! #LeeMinHo went to BLACKPINK's concert & took photos to show appreciation (sic)." Another wrote warmly, 'Wow!!! Actor #LeeMinHo out here on his ig supporting #BLACKPINK_DEADLINE tour & being an amazing bestie to pretty #JISOO. Go girls, fighting (sic).' Lee Hyeri, actress and singer, was also spotted at the venue, along with a host of other celebrity attendees, leading fans to compare the concert's atmosphere to a major year-end music show. One viral reaction read: "Is it a BLACKPINK concert or SBS Gayo Daejeon 2018 cause wtf?? BTS TWICE SEVENTEEN WINNER GIDLE RED VELVET are attending the show (sic)." Fans were also thrilled by the performance itself, especially the live encore segment. After years of relying on backing tracks, the group gave a rare live encore performance, sparking excitement across social media: "BLACKPINK SINGING REALLY DURING ENCORE IT'S BEEN 6 YEARS (sic)." As always, Jisoo's close connections were highlighted, with a shoutout to her Snowdrop castmates in attendance: '#JISOO with her Snowdrop family at BLACKPINK Deadline World Tour Concert in Goyang Day 2 (sic).' What stood out to many was the show of unity among celebrities, transcending fandom rivalries. One fan wrote poignantly: "The way these artists always support their fellow artists, while the fans are busy fighting over unnecessary things. It just proves the beef is all in your heads (sic)." Indeed, BLACKPINK's Deadline concert did not merely serve as a musical spectacle, but also as a celebration of camaraderie and mutual respect within the South Korean entertainment industry. As one fan perfectly summed it up: 'BLACKPINK is literally insane for collecting both senior and junior groups. They are truly the celebrity of all celebrities (sic).' With such a dazzling start in Seoul, BLACKPINK's Deadline world tour promises to be an unforgettable journey, not just for BLINKs, but for the entire entertainment world watching closely.

Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun's GOOD BOY Ep 13-14 OTT Release: Date, when and where to watch, what to expect, more

If you're searching for a K-drama that packs intensity, laughter, and a completely fresh concept, GOOD BOY might just become your next obsession. With a combination of thrilling action sequences and comic timing, the drama has captured both domestic and international audiences. And as Episode 12 recently aired, excitement is peaking over what's next. Episode 13 & 14: When and where to watch Episode 12 dropped today, on July 6, intensifying the buzz surrounding the show. Now, fans are gearing up for the subsequent releases. According to the official schedule, Episode 13 will air on July 12 between 10:30 PM and 10:40 PM KST in South Korea. It will be followed by Episode 14 on July 13. International audiences won't have to wait long. Thanks to streaming platforms, new episodes become available shortly after the Korean broadcast. In India, fans can stream the upcoming episodes on Amazon Prime Video from 7:10 PM IST. GOOD BOY plotline GOOD BOY introduces a bold concept: a government-backed initiative that recruits former national-level athletes to combat crime. These individuals were once known for breaking records and winning medals. Now, they use their strength, stamina, and discipline to tackle serious criminal investigations. The transition from stadiums to crime scenes brings a refreshing twist to the genre, merging the spirit of sports with high-stakes missions. Instead of sticking to conventional detective storylines, GOOD BOY brings a fresh layer of intrigue. This unusual setup is one of the drama's strongest appeals, pulling in viewers who crave something beyond the ordinary. GOOD BOY cast One of the biggest draws of GOOD BOY is Park Bo Gum 's bold transformation. He breaks the mold with his portrayal of Yoon Dong Ju. He plays a passionate, street-smart former athlete-turned-police officer. While Park Bo Gum leads the charge, GOOD BOY is far from a one-man show. The supporting cast adds serious depth and chemistry. Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Seok each play crucial roles. The characters are well-written, each bringing their own backstory and unique skill set to the team. Whether it's sharp wit, emotional baggage, or high-level combat skills, every member has something memorable to offer. Their interactions, both comedic and heartfelt, keep the story from feeling one-dimensional.
