Doohan returns to Celtic as free agent
Ross Doohan has returned to Celtic on a three-year deal.The goalkeeper, 27, was most recently at Aberdeen, where he made 20 appearances over two years.He left Celtic in 2022 after playing four times in six years and joined Tranmere Rovers, where he had been on loan. He subsequently joined Forest Green Rovers and then the Dons.While at Celtic first time round, Doohan was also sent on loan to Greenock Morton, Ayr United, Ross County and Dundee United. In total, the keeper has made 169 club appearances and made his senior Scotland debut in this month's 4-0 win away to Liechtenstein.Doohan's arrival at Celtic follows goalkeeper Scott Bain's departure for Falkirk. First choice Kasper Schmeichel and understudy Viljami Sinisalo are the other keepers in Brendan Rodgers' first team squad at the Scottish champions.

McGhee 'taken aback' by quality in 'intense' Motherwell training
Jordan McGhee says he was "taken aback at the quality" at Motherwell when he joined the Scotland reported that the versatile 28-year-old had penned a pre-contract agreement with the Lanarkshire side in January, and officially joined on 2 June on a two-year deal."It's a long time coming," he said in a club video. "I stayed at Dundee the rest of the season and gave my all there and now to be here finally, is really exciting."McGhee has not only had to get familiar with new team-mates, but with a new manager too in Jens Berthel far, the training has been "intense"."The boys and our staff are really working hard and taking on board the new ideas from the gaffer," he said."It's really intense, we're at a high tempo and we've worked on both sides of the game now - attacking and defending."Since I came in I've actually been taken aback by how good the quality was in training. "The players, obviously having played against them, their standards are excellent. "I'm a big believer in training the way you play and so far training has been outstanding. "I'm just looking forward to working hard and getting on the pitch with the boys and hopefully winning many games."On and off the field, it's a club that's always growing."If I can help on the pitch that would be ideal. On a personal note, I want to improve as a football player and learn different styles and adapt my game. "It's always exciting to change myself and just looking forward to getting started with it."

'End of Shankland saga is nigh, but how will it unfold?'
Another day, another - kinda - update on the Lawrence Shankland we all know by now, Derek McInnes' squad have headed out to Spain for a warm-weather training camp and the Scotland striker is not with according to Hearts Standard editor Joel Sked, the offer of a contract from the Tynecastle club is still there and his future remains "in the balance"."It seems like it's business as usual, the contract is on the table for Lawrence Shankland - a contract which would still make him the highest paid player at the club," Sked told BBC Sportsound."I have no problem with him holding out to see if there are options."I think it's still in the balance, but at the very end stage where, one way or another, something has to be done."Hearts kick off their season on 12 July against Dunfermline in the League Cup group stage, so it's safe to say time is ticking."Hearts will need someone to replace him if he doesn't stay," Sked added. "I get why they're trying to wait as long as possible because I think trying to replace Shankland will be very, very difficult."I don't think it will be much more of a saga, I think we're coming to the end of it, which is needed for all parties."
