Malviya slapped these two accusations against the West Bengal Chief Minister, reacting to her social media post, shared a day ago, where she shared a video claiming that a child and his mother, who belong to a migrant family from West Bengal's Malda district, were allegedly beaten up by the police in New Delhi.
'In her desperation to shield illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, West Bengal's Chief Minister is now weaponising language politics and dragging innocent children into unrelated incidents just to score political points. She has no evidence that Indian citizens, residents of West Bengal, are being harassed by the police administration,' Malviya said in a reaction to the video post by the Chief Minister.
Malviya, at the same time, had pointed out instances of how 'Bengali women' were subjected to harassment, torture, and humiliation in West Bengal.
'But let's not forget: the brave women of Sandeshkhali were Bengali too. So was the doctor at RG Kar and the student at Calcutta Law College. Her selective outrage is glaring,' read Malviya's statement.
He also accused the Chief Minister and her administration of allowing the events where 'Hindu Bengalis' were subjected to torture by 'violent Islamist mobs' in different districts of West Bengal.
'From Malda to Murshidabad to Birbhum, she has allowed violent Islamist mobs to terrorise helpless Hindu Bengalis—while shedding crocodile tears for Bengali-speaking infiltrators. This dangerous game of appeasement and communal politics won't go unchallenged,' Malviya added.
His observation comes on a day when Mamata Banerjee will be beginning her party's prolonged weekend agitation against the alleged harassment of Bengali-speaking people in the BJP-ruled states later in the day by leading a protest rally at Birbhum district of West Bengal.
The reason for choosing Birbhum as the starting venue of the protest, which Mamata Banerjee describes as another 'Bhasha Andolan (Language Movement)', is the district's rich association with Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and the Gurudev-founded Visva Bharati University at Bolpur-Santiniketan in the district.
Political observers feel that Mamata Banerjee has deliberately chosen the district as the starting venue to exploit Bengali nostalgia associated with Gurudev.

He said, 'The government has ensured all inventory of hotel rooms, guesthouses and other stays linked with OTA platforms are registered with the tourism department.' 'Many second homes and residential buildings are being misused for tourist stays without informing the authorities. The people who come to these second homes and operate as tourist accommodations often do so without proper registration,' he added. 'The Goa government will work towards finding a sustainable solution that protects the interests of both residents and the tourism sector,' he assured the assembly. Later, addressing the reporters, Khaunte stated that the Goa government has updated its Homestay Policy to address critical difficulties confronting local people working in the hospitality business in the coastal state's rural regions. A direct grant of Rs 2 lakh will now be provided to eligible applicants to establish homestays, replacing the previous reimbursement-based model that posed financial challenges for many rural households, he said. 'The original policy required beneficiaries to invest first and claim the amount later, which was not practical for women in rural households,' he told reporters on the margins of the state assembly's ongoing monsoon session. The updated legislation would apply to homestays with one to six lettable rooms within the owner's property, particularly in rural regions, according to the ministry. 'While the registration is permitted across Goa, incentives will be limited to non-coastal, non-urban zones to ensure the policy's rural focus is preserved,' added the official. Khaunte stated that the project is profoundly founded in women's empowerment, since homestays would be administered mostly by household women. 'This is not just about adding inventory to our tourism ecosystem, it's about creating livelihood opportunities, preserving cultural heritage, and giving rural women a leadership role in community-based tourism,' he said. The tourist department will launch the application procedure for taking advantage of this program once the current assembly session ends on August 8, he added. 100 homestays will be supported under the scheme in the initial phase, the minister said. Chandigarh: The Haryana BJP has asked its MLAs to adopt each assembly constituency that the party lost during the 2024 assembly elections, initiating electoral groundwork for the next assembly and general elections even as the opposition Congress remains without a full state and district executive. The new assignment comes following a meeting of Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini with Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday. Saini conveyed this to BJP MLAs during the meeting of the legislative party held at his camp office on Tuesday. Others who attended the meeting included state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, organisational secretary Phaninder Nath Sharma, and other senior leaders of state BJP and party MLAs. In the 2024 assembly elections, BJP won 48 of the 90 seats, with Congress bagging 37, independents three and INLD securing two seats. Savitiri Jindal, mother of BJP MLA from Kurukshetra, was one of the independent MLAs from Hisar. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP lost five seats of the 10 in the state to Congress. Kolhapur: "The traditional worship of live cobras has been restored to educate people in Battis Shirala," said Satyajeet Deshmukh, the BJP MLA from Shirala. In Nov 2024, while campaigning for Deshmukh in the assembly election, senior BJP politicians and Union home minister assured that Mahayuti govt would ensure the resumption of the traditional worship of live cobras during the festival in Battis Shirala town of Sangli district. The Supreme Court had banned the worship of the snakes following complaints of harm to the reptiles during handling. Shah had then blamed vote-bank politics as the reason behind stopping Nagpanchami celebrations. "Once our govt is formed, the worship of 'nagas' with all rituals will restart in such a way that the respect of law is maintained and the celebrations take place in the traditional form," Shah had said. The promise was one of the reasons for Deshmukh's win, and now the Mahayuti politicians are boasting about fulfilling that promise. "The word given has been kept. It was a complex issue.
