Kick Off A Marvel Blockbuster Summer With These Tabletop Accessories
The summer blockbuster movie season is here and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has two entries this year. Thunderbolts* arrives this weekend with a team full of unlikely heroes. The Fantastic Four: First Steps brings Marvel's first family into the MCU on July 25th, 2025.
Fans of Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game have a lot to be excited about this summer. There's an expansion that covers everyone's friendly neighborhood superhero in all his forms plus some accessories to make playing the game even easier. Thanks to Marvel and Asmodee for sending review copies for this article.
The Spider-Verse Expansion details everything Game Masters might need to know about Spider-Man to use him in their stories. The book goes through the character's history and highlights all sorts of heroes, villains and other moments that can be used to spin off new stories. There are nearly one hundred full character profiles in this book from throughout Spidey's history, including ones that find him at a specific time in history or during a particular storyline.
It also leans into the popularity of Into The Spider-Verse and Across The Spider-Verse by detailing the worlds of Ghost-Spider, Spider-Man 2099 and several other characters that were featured in those films. Given the multiversal nature of the RPG, it seems like a group could run an all Spider-Folks game with this book. Or, given the popularity of Venom and the symbiotes, one where everyone bonded with some alien goo.
There's also a meaty section of new rules for all things Spider-Man adjacent. There's a discussion of how to make meeting a multiversal variant of a character intriguing and unique as well as new origins, traits and power to expand options for original characters. For players who want personal drama in their stories, there's systems for heroic reputation and wrestling with secret identities included as well.
Getting into a new role playing game can be intimidating. Some folks want to try before they buy. Starter sets are a great way for players to have an adventure over a few nights to see if they want to get the full experience.
Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game Escape From Planet Hulk is a boxed set full of everything needed to play a comic book tale full of action and intrigue. Players choose to play one of the six included characters who find themselves yanked across space by The Grandmaster to compete in some intergalactic gladiatorial games. An encounter with The Hulk gives them an opportunity to escape but that's easier said than done.
The boxed set includes maps, character folios, tokens and a set of unique d-616 for play. The adventure also features a lot of familiar faces like Ultron and Korg. It's a great choice for comic fans or for people who are more familiar with the MCU.
Fans who want to add a new dimension to their role playing battles can pick up a pack of Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game 2D Minis. Each set comes with 10 iconic Marvel characters perfect for the location map or the battle grid. They also come with a compact stat card featuring the strengths of each character.
These pieces are cheap alternatives to fully painted miniatures. They work great for games run at conventions or game stores. They also let Gme Masters have ready characters to play for friends that want to drop in for a cameo appearance in a campaign.
All of these Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game accessories can be found through online retailers or at Friendly Local Gaming Stores across the multiverse.

'I Am Groot' Translates to 'This Dancing Groot LEGO Set Hits All-Time Low' While Stock Lasts on Amazon
Who doesn't love Lego? Appealing to folks of all ages, Lego makes for wonderful gifts or collectors items. I find myself just really enjoying the process of it all. Popping on a podcast or some music while I just tune out and build. You take each piece of the instructions one step at a time while you can see your progress moving along in real time. It's pretty mindful and therapeutic as you put this cool thing together in front of you while your mind wanders and your real-life stressors momentarily go away. Plus, Lego's got awesome sets covering every franchise under the sun — Marvel being one of its most popular. Speaking of, this Lego Marvel Dancing Groot Guardians of The Galaxy set is currently 20% off, bringing the price down to just $36. See at Amazon Groot has taken many shapes an sizes throughout his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—and even more just in Marvel media at large—but the character has never been more charming then when we first saw him dancing around as a tiny potted twig in the end credits of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. And this rendition has been immortalized in a 459-piece Lego set. This Lego Groot is fully posable with a head that turns and arms the move. It's even interactive as the rear of the flower pot includes a handle you can crank that makes Groot dance—shifting his pseudo-waist back and forth and his arms up and down. The flower pot also has a built-in storage compartment for all the accessories. What are they you may ask? Included in the set are three different name plates—one with his iconic catchphrase, 'I am Groot,' one with the title of the movie, and one that I honestly can not really make out from the images. I think its also the title of the movie but in a made up space language? I don't know, it's been forever since I've seen any of the Guardians films. Don't @ me. Beyond the nameplates, Lego Groot also comes with some extra leaves, sunglasses, and headphones you can add onto him like a new-age Mr. Potato Head. The Lego builder app can make the building process easier and more immersive than ever before. Zoom in and rotate sets in 3D while tracking your progress of the build in front of you intuitively. It's a really cool way Lego has kept up with modern consumer expectations. You can check it out on the Lego website. Ryan Gosling is not an astronaut in Project Hail Mary's first trailer
Following the success of 2015's The Martian, Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Project Hail Mary based on another best-selling Andy Weir novel. The film features Ryan Gosling, who's entering his sci-fi era after being cast in Star Wars: Starfighter, as science teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he's light years from Earth. The trailer starts with a very bearded Grace waking up from a coma on a spaceship that he discovers is 11.9 light years from Earth. Through a series of flashbacks we learn that Earth's sun, as well as countless neighboring stars, are all dying as a result of a mysterious substance — except one. A reluctant Grace, who has a Doctorate in molecular biology, is recruited as an astronaut to visit this star and hopefully find out why it's not affected in an effort to save mankind. But it turns out Earth isn't the only planet with a dying sun who has sent a savior to this star, and Grace finds himself meeting an alien ally who we only see brief glimpses of in this first trailer. The film is produced and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who created the animated Spider-Verse franchise and who wrote and directed the original Lego movie. The Project Hail Mary novel was adapted by Drew Goodard (who previously adapted Weir's The Martian) and the film, which hits theaters on March 20th, 2026, also stars Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub.

First Look Photo From AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH Featuring Quaritch and Spider — GeekTyrant
A first look photo has been released from the upcoming sequel, Avatar: Fire and Ash . The picture features Spider (Jack Champion), who in The Way of Water got the family reunion he never wished for when his father, Stephen Lang's Miles Quaritch, returned in 'recombinant' Na'vi form, wreaking havoc on Jake (Jake Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldaña) clan – all leading to the death of our heroes' eldest son, Neteyam. Clearly, this puts Spider in quite the predicament going forward – caught between his reborn biological dad, and the family that raised him. As reported in Empire, Spider's dynamic with Quaritch 2.0 is set to become even more twisted in Avatar: Fire And Ash – seen together above in a world-exclusive still from the upcoming threequel. 'They reconnect out of necessity,' Stephen Lang, aka Slang, tells Empire . 'Their connection is not a solo connection. There are times when everybody comes together on some level. But, when enemies cooperate, you can be sure betrayal is just around the corner.' "Spider confuses Quaritch," the actor continues. "But Quaritch wants clarity. There is something about Spider that Quaritch really loves — not a word we associate with him. I think respect and admiration really develop in spades, as well as animosity and manipulation. The relationship will deepen — for better or worse." Jack Champion addressed this complicated dynamic last month when he said, "[Spider] feels very conflicted. His 'dad' is reborn into this Na'vi form and still as evil as ever, if not more so, and he still felt he had to save him. You see that guilt play out, and the evolution of Spider trying to figure out where he belongs." This third installment brings back Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver, as the saga returns to Pandora. This time, the story will introduce the Ash People, a new Na'vi faction tied to the planet's volcanic regions. It looks like a darker, more intense chapter in the Avatar universe. Cameron previously said: 'You'll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before. It's an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it's also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We're going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.' He also shared: 'I've shown it to a few selected people and the feedback has been it's definitely the most emotional and maybe the best of the three so far.' Avatar: Fire and Ash is set to hit theaters on December 19th. Check out the full first look photo above.
