Benjamin Nygren will blow Celtic fans away as Viljami Sinisalo reveals what he's known for years
Viljami Sinisalo reckons Celtic fans are going to be blown away by new Bhoy Benjamin Nygren.
The Hoops keeper squared up with the Sweden ace with Finland numerous times through the youth levels in Scandinavia.
And he revealed Nygren was always identified as the danger man – as he was one of the top kids on the continent at the time.
The attacker checked in from Nordsjaelland on a bargain £1.7m deal and is set to get his first run out for the Hoops in Saturday's closed doors bounce game against Estrela da Amadora in Portugal this weekend.
Supporters will need to wait a few more days to see Nygren in the flesh but Sinisalo has told punters to prepare to be wowed.
The keeper said: 'I've played against Benjamin quite a few times when we were youth internationals.
'We're the same age and there's a little bit of a rivalry going on with the Finland v Sweden situation.
'I think he scored a couple against me for the under 17s or something! I remember he was always the main man when we played them. There was always a lot of talk about him, with various clubs looking at him. At under 16 and 17 levels, he always played a few groups up as well.
'He's a great guy. He's close friends with one of my friends back home as well so I know a lot about him. I've got nothing but good things to say about him.
'He's got a lot of ability but he's also a very nice guy, he's very down to earth and looking to work as hard as he can.
'I've been really impressed, but it's no surprise. He's a brilliant, athletic, footballer, who is very good on the ball.
'We are going to see a lot from him this season.
'I think Celtic fans are going to be very excited watching him.'
Sinisalo has also been hugely impressed by returning Kieran Tierney – and he reckons Celts have landed a player with serious Premier League talent.
He said: 'Keiran is obviously coming in with a lot of pedigree. He's playing at big clubs, playing in the Premier League and knows what it's all about at Celtic as well.
'He's a brilliant footballer, first and foremost, you can see it daily in training. You can see why he's played in the Premier League and won things here too.
'You see his mentality. It's something young players can learn from, whether you are an outfield player or a goalkeeper, that's what we are all trying to do.'

‘Same incompetence every time' – Scotland fans left raging at ticket shambles that forces SFA to CANCEL all sales
The SFA have released a statement on the issue TICKET FARCE 'Same incompetence every time' – Scotland fans left raging at ticket shambles that forces SFA to CANCEL all sales SCOTLAND fans have been left fuming after a ticket cock-up saw all sales for the trip to Denmark CANCELLED. The SFA started to sell briefs for the World Cup qualifier away to the Danes on September 5 this morning. 2 Steve Clarke aims to lead Scotland to the World Cup Credit: Kenny Ramsay 2 Scotland fans are not happy with ticket shambles Credit: Rex But hours later they informed all members of the Scotland Supporters Club who had managed to secure seats that their tickets were no longer valid. Hampden chiefs blamed a "technical error" that allowed fans who didn't have enough points to buy tickets in the sale that was meant to be restricted to those with between 32 and 21 points. An SFA message explaining the issue said: "The Scottish FA is aware of a technical error that occurred during this morning's ticket sale for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Denmark, which allowed purchase by some Scotland Supporters Club (SSC) members who were not eligible during the window that was reserved for those with 32-21 Points. "As a result, we will regrettably need to restart the sales process from scratch in the interest of fairness, with any purchase that was made today being cancelled and refunded. "The new sale will commence at 10am on Wednesday, 23 July. "The SFA would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to supporters." The news angered many fans, with some complaining that the new sale time could mean they now miss out on a ticket. One fan said: "How hard is it for them to do the right thing first time. "They've had a week to set it up? And only have to do it 5 times a year... It's the same incompetence every time." Another fan said sarcastically: "Ahhh great! Working tomorrow afternoon when tickets go on sale to those on 20+ points and above which means it'll be harder for me to get my ticket. Cheers." The away trip to Denmark kicks off Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign. Three days later Steve Clarke's men are on the road again when they face Belarus - with the game to be played in Hungary. They then have a home double header against Greece and Belarus on October 9 and 12. A trip to Greece is next on November 15 before the campaign ends at Hampden Park against the Danes on November 18. Bryan Mbeumo excited to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps at ‘biggest club' Man Utd
After seven weeks and some tense talks between the clubs, the 25-year-old finally completed his move from Brentford on Monday for £65million plus a potential £6million in add-ons. Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with the option of a further season, at what he calls the 'club of my dreams' – one whose shirt he wore as a kid growing up in France. A post shared by Manchester United (@manchesterunited) 'For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here. 'I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and, yeah, I'm really happy to be here.' Mbeumo says he idolised Ronaldo and Lionel Messi growing up, as well as admiring Neymar and Eden Hazard, and joins Matheus Cunha in bolstering what has been a blunt United attack. The forward says the Brazil international will 'bring something new' to a team that he is excited to get to know better when they head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday. 'I think it's really important for me joining a new club,' Mbeumo said. 'It's important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well with the team-mates, so in and out the pitch. 'The spirit is really important. Yeah, create a group, being involved as soon as possible, for me, it's something really important.' Turning up for his first day in style 😎 🆕 @BMbeumo19 — Manchester United (@ManUtd) July 22, 2025 Mbeumo links up with United after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham and is someone he sees similarly to new boss Ruben Amorim. 'I think they have similar values,' he said. 'He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need. 'It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and, yeah, with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team.'

Edu working on transfer for Arsenal target he repeatedly failed to sign for Mikel Arteta
Edu is trying to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz for Nottingham Forest, having failed with moves for the Brazilian on a few occasions when he was at Arsenal Nottingham Forest are leading the race to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus after he rejected moves to other Premier League sides. Juventus only signed Luiz from Aston Villa last summer but they are now desperate to offload the Brazilian midfielder. The Italian giants coughed up £42.35million to sign Luiz from Villa before handing him a five-year contract. Villa only parted company with the 27-year-old to comply with profit and sustainability rules after he enjoyed an outstanding 2023/24 season. Luiz is now trying to secure a move back to the Premier League after a miserable and injury-hit first campaign in Turin. He started just three Serie A matches for Juve last season, with 16 substitute appearances only getting him up to 518 minutes in the league. Juve are now trying to get rid of him and striker Dusan Vlahovic in order to make room for new arrivals, including Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. And it seems that Forest global head of football Edu could hold the key to the potential deal. Edu surprisingly announced his decision to move on from Arsenal in November, having spent five years working at the Gunners alongside Mikel Arteta. He was responsible for the signings of players like Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice – but one player he didn't manage to land was Luiz. However, Gazzetta dello Sport now says that Edu is once again leading the push to sign Luiz, this time for Forest. Luiz has turned down Fulham and Leeds and now his agent, Kia Joorabchian, is flying to London to speak with interested parties. Tuttosport now reports that Everton are in the mix with Forest, while West Ham and Manchester United have previously explored a deal for him. With Luiz still having four years left on his deal with Juventus, a straight transfer appears unlikely. But the Old Lady are reportedly happy to accept an initial loan with the obligation to buy. Last week, West Ham were reported to have offered a €10m (£8.67m) loan deal with an option to buy for around €30m (£26m). That was turned down because Juve want an obligation to buy, rather than an option. Luiz is not in Igor Tudor's plans for the 2025/26 season after missing 20 matches last season through injury while underwhelming when he did play. Edu doesn't seem concerned as he continues chasing the midfielder. Edu and Arteta were convinced that Luiz could become a key player in north London if they could poach him from Villa. They tried on more than one occasion to prise him away from Unai Emery, but were unsuccessful as he spent five seasons with the Birmingham club. It seems he has a better chance this time around, with Forest – unlike Everton or United – able to offer him European football next season.
