Rajasthan: Crackers, drones banned in Jaipur, schools closed in Nagaur, Hanumangarh
Jaipur: In the wake of the escalating tension along the India-Pakistan border, authorities across Rajasthan have announced a series of emergency measures to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
In Jaipur, a complete ban has been imposed on the bursting of crackers and flying of drones, particularly during wedding ceremonies and public gatherings.
The directive has been issued by Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rameshwar Singh, citing heightened security risks. Changes have also been implemented at Jaipur Junction railway station, where multiple entry and exit points have been closed, including the gate near the DRM office.
Entry and exit will now only be permitted via Parshuram Circle. In addition, daily mock drills by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) will be held between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at key railway stations.
In Chomu, the administration has asked traders to close markets by 8 p.m., while also extending the ban on firecrackers and drones.
Police station in-charge Pradeep Sharma confirmed that special surveillance is underway at sensitive locations and disaster relief equipment is being mobilised. To handle potential threats, two detention centres have been established in Jaipur city.
Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph has directed all station in-charges to remain on high alert and monitor outsiders.
Strict verification procedures have been ordered, with immediate legal action to be taken against individuals with questionable documents or identity.
In response to growing concerns, all government and private schools and Anganwadis in Nagaur have been closed until further notice.
Hanumangarh District Collector has ordered the closure of schools, Anganwadis, and coaching institutes from tomorrow. In Pali district, the administration has taken over 36 private hospitals for emergency use. Orders have been issued by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO).
Further, the National Lok Adalat, which was scheduled for Saturday in Jodhpur, Barmer, and Bikaner, has been postponed.
Rail services from Bikaner to Jaisalmer have been suspended for the past two days and will remain closed. The trains which have been cancelled till Sunday include Train 54760 – Suratgarh to Sriganganagar, Train 04770 – Sriganganagar to Hanumangarh and Train 04778 – Hanumangarh to Sadulpur.
In a significant development, two youths have been arrested in Gharsana for sharing sensitive military movement details on social media.
Authorities have emphasised that such acts will be dealt with strictly under relevant security laws. Authorities have been appealing to citizens to remain calm, follow official instructions, and avoid spreading unverified information. The situation is being closely monitored across all districts, said officials.

RPF Nagpur division of Central Railway rescues 61 kids in 2 months, saves 12 lives
Nagpur: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Nagpur Division of Central Railway rescued 61 children under Operation Nanhe Farishte during April–May 2025, which is only behind Bhusaval among the divisions in the state. RPF had rescued 36 children in Nagpur division during the same period in 2024. The effort is part of a broader initiative across Central Railway to assist lost or runaway children and reunite them with their families. RPF across all divisions of Central Railway rescued 235 children during the two months, as compared to 149 in April–May 2024. Division-wise, Bhusaval rescued 62 children (45 in 2024), Mumbai 53 (52 in 2024), Pune 51 (10 in 2024) and Solapur 8 (6 in 2024). These operations are conducted in coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP), frontline railway staff, and NGOs like Childline. Most of the rescued children had arrived at stations without informing their families due to personal or family issues, or in search of urban opportunities. Trained RPF personnel engage with the children, counsel them, and coordinate reunification with guardians. Parallely, under Operation Jeevan Raksha, Central Railway RPF personnel also saved the lives of 12 passengers (9 males and 3 females) who were in dangerous situations while boarding or alighting from moving trains during April-May 2025. This figure is up from seven persons (5 males and 2 females) during the same period last year.

RPF rescues 6 runaway children at Gaya Junction
Gaya: Railway protection force (RPF) personnel rescued six minor boys from platform number one of Gaya Junction on Saturday morning. They had run away from their homes without informing their parents, the RPF said. They were not carrying any luggage or bag nor accompanied by a guardian. The children were residents of Kunda police station area in Chatra district." "The boys have been handed over to the railway child help desk, Gaya, for counselling and further action to ensure their safety from human traffickers. Under 'Operation Nanhe Farishte', the RPF is regularly tracking such minor boys and the girls. The initiative also focuses on spotting and saving children who have run away, been trafficked, gone missing, or been abandoned at railway platforms and trains."

Robbers strike at moving train in Chittoor dist
Tirupati: In an overnight robbery marked by precision and planning, an armed gang halted the Chamrajnagar–Tirupati Express by tampering with the railway signal system and looted passengers in two coaches near Siddampalli railway station in Chittoor district. The incident took place around 2.30 am on Thursday, raising serious concerns about railway security and sabotage. The train, which had left Katpadi late Wednesday night, was en route to Chittoor when it came to a sudden halt approximately 350 metres ahead of Siddampalli station. Although the route had been cleared, the signal indicated a stop. Upon investigation, railway officials discovered that wires had been cut and the system deliberately manipulated to display a red signal. Seizing the opportunity created by the isolated location and halted train, the gang approached the S-7 and S-10 sleeper coaches. Using flashlights, they identified female passengers wearing jewellery, then climbed atop one another to reach the windows and snatched gold chains from four sleeping women. The stolen ornaments weighed 40 grams, 15.5 grams, 5 grams, and 4 grams, respectively. Onboard beat officers responded quickly, sounding alarms and arming themselves, but the robbers escaped into the darkness before any confrontation could occur. The loco pilot's enquiry to the station confirmed that the green signal had, in fact, been issued—pointing directly to sabotage of the signalling system. Police suspect the involvement of a gang from Maharashtra with a prior history of similar train robbery. A robbery with comparable modus operandi was reported in the same region nearly 20 years ago. Investigators believe the attackers had specific technical knowledge of railway signalling. Within 20 minutes of the alert, teams from the Railway Protection Force and local police arrived at the scene. Forensic teams later found signs of forced access to the signal box, while police are also probing reports of suspicious individuals at a nearby quarry during the time of the incident. Authorities are treating the case as a pre-planned crime carried out by a well-organised gang, likely with connections to earlier incidents of signal-based train robberies.
