Earlier, expressing his condolences for the victims of the Sigachi Pharma Factory explosion, Congress MP Mallu Ravi said that the 'unfortunate' incident took place due to a 'chemical reaction' in the pharma factory.
'It is a very unfortunate incident due to the chemical reaction in the pharma factory. CM has announced to give Rs 1 crore to each deceased family,' Mallu Ravi told ANI.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion at the Sigachi Pharma chemical factory in Telangana's Sangareddy district.
The Prime Minister also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
Union Minister and Telangana BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy offered full support to the State government in the relief operations following the blast at a chemical factory in Telangana's Sangareddy, which killed at least 34 people and injured many. 'NDRF, Police and other agencies are engaged in relief operations...Central financial assistance of Rs 2 lakhs each will be given to families of the deceased persons and Rs 50,000 to the injured,' Kishan Reddy told reporters here.
'The BJP never does politics on such issues. We will fully cooperate in relief activities... The state government should take all steps to prevent such accidents,' Reddy said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed grief over the blast. 'Saddened by the tragic accident in a chemical factory in Sangareddy, Telangana. The NDRF team rushed to the spot immediately and is continuing the rescue operation along with the local administration,' Amit Shah said in a post on X.
'My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the swift recovery of those injured,' Shah added. (ANI)

Since its introduction, over two lakh registrations have already been completed under the new civil code system. Law to Recover Damages from Rioters To control unruly elements causing damage to public and private property during riots, strikes, and protests, the Dhami government implemented the Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Act in 2024. Under this law, individuals found guilty of damaging property during protests are required to compensate for the loss at market rates. Stricter Gangster Act The state government has made significant amendments to the Gangster Act, bringing crimes such as cow slaughter, human trafficking, child labour, bonded labour, exam fraud, and money laundering under its ambit. A tough law against forced religious conversions has also been introduced, with provisions for non-bailable imprisonment of up to 10 years and fines of up to Rs 50,000 upon conviction. The Congress on Friday said the Narendra Modi government must agree to a discussion on India-China relations in Parliament so that a consensus can be built for a collective response to the geopolitical and economic challenges that the neighbouring country poses to India, directly and through Pakistan. Congress general secretary, communications, Jairam Ramesh said Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development and Sustenance) Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh has publicly confirmed what has been talked about ever since Operation Sindoor was halted abruptly at the intervention of US President Donald Trump . "Lt Gen Singh has revealed some details of the extraordinary ways by which China helped the Pakistan Air Force. This is the same China which completely destroyed the status quo in Ladakh five years ago but to which Prime Minister Modi gave a public clean chit on June 19, 2020," Ramesh said in a post on X. "For five years, the INC has been demanding a discussion on the full gamut of India-China relations in the Parliament. The Modi government has consistently refused to have such a debate. The INC will continue to make this demand in the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament, scheduled to commence on July 21, 2025," he added. "The Modi government must agree at least now so that a consensus can be built for a collective response to the geopolitical and economic challenges that China poses to India, directly and through Pakistan.
