Saif bin Zayed launches AI Training Programme for MoI Personnel
The MoU was signed by Brigadier Dr. Rashid Al Dhakhri, Director-General of Human Resources at the Ministry, on behalf of the MoI, and Andrew Jackson, CEO of Inception, on behalf of the company.
The ceremony was also attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Peng Xiao, CEO of G42; alongside senior officers and officials.
Pioneering programme
This pioneering programme is designed to build a future-ready police force by equipping MoI staff with essential AI knowledge, hands-on experience, and the tools required to understand, utilise, and innovate with artificial intelligence in their respective domains.
The initiative will be delivered through a modular framework encompassing intensive workshops, interactive seminars, and practical training sessions under the supervision of leading AI experts and practitioners.
Participants will gain foundational insights into AI concepts, explore cutting-edge technologies and their practical applications in public service, and develop the skills needed to integrate AI into their daily workflows.

This initiative represents a significant step in the Ministry of Interior's ongoing commitment to fostering a smart, agile, and future-ready workforce. Developed in collaboration with Inception and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, the programme is tailored to serve the varied needs of MoI personnel—from strategic policymakers to frontline staff—ensuring organisation-wide AI literacy and adoption.
By promoting a culture of innovation, continuous professional development, and responsible technological advancement, the initiative supports the UAE's broader objectives under the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031. It reaffirms the nation's ambition to position itself as a global leader in the development and application of human-centred, ethically sound AI solutions.

UAE, Bhutan launch 'AI for Development' Initiative to unlock AI's potential for economic growth in Global South
In a milestone effort to explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for inclusive development, the United Arab Emirates and the Royal Government of Bhutan, in collaboration with the Eurasia Group and G42, convened a high-level two-day workshop titled 'AI for Development' in Thimphu, Bhutan. Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, and Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, Foreign Minister of Bhutan, were present at the workshop, which began with the traditional Marchang Ceremony, reflecting the deep essence of Bhutan's rich culture. The workshop brought together policymakers, technical experts, and development practitioners to identify creative AI solutions for local implementation. This initiative stems from a broader UAE foreign policy agenda that embraces technological diplomacy and supports inclusive, high-impact partnerships—particularly across the Global South. Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, who led the UAE delegation, remarked, 'This initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to technological diplomacy through harnessing AI and technology for global development. Bhutan's agility and forward-looking digital transformation, together with the UAE's technical expertise and strategic vision, create a natural synergy. Through such partnerships, we aim to advance impactful solutions that align with national priorities and contribute to sustainable development.' Dr. Abdulnasser Alshaali, UAE Non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bhutan, further elaborated, "The UAE is proud to partner with Bhutan, in navigating pioneering, scalable tech solutions, from entrepreneurship to agriculture, advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inclusive growth across the Global South.' As the first pilot country, Bhutan was selected for its commitment to innovation and its willingness to explore cost-effective, context-sensitive technology solutions to drive economic growth. During the workshop, participants focused on three priority areas: boosting entrepreneurship, promoting regenerative tourism, and increasing agricultural productivity. These themes align closely with Bhutan's national development goals and key UN SDGs. Kazakhstan launches first supercomputer in partnership with UAE's Presight
Image: Supplied Kazakhstan has unveiled its first national supercomputer in a strategic partnership with UAE-based Presight, marking a milestone in the country's digital transformation agenda. The launch event, attended by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and top government and technology leaders, was developed by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, in collaboration with Presight, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi's G42. The supercomputer to support Kazakhstan's AI and research ecosystem Designed to support large-scale AI innovation, national data security, and cross-border cooperation, the supercomputer will serve as the technological backbone of Kazakhstan's AI and research ecosystem. It will enable advanced research, model training, and digital infrastructure across Central Asia and beyond, reinforcing Kazakhstan's ambition to become a regional hub for AI and cloud computing. Magzhan Kenesbai, chief growth officer, and Maxat Koshumbayev, country manager for Kazakhstan, represented Presight at the launch.
