Dua Lipa Goes Full (Couture) Bride at Schiaparelli
Today in Paris, Dua Lipa joined the likes of Hunter Schafer, Cardi B (and her raven companion), and Cooper Koch in the front row at Daniel Roseberry's fall 2025 haute couture show. The singer, who confirmed her engagement to British actor Callum Turner on last month's cover of British Vogue, channeled her inner bride-to-be in a white dress. She opted for a floor-dusting long-sleeve covered in featherlike paillettes of various sizes that rustled with every move. The dress was complete with structured shoulders, a thigh-high front slit, and a large keyhole cutout at her sternum.

An ambassador for Chanel since 2018, Penélope Cruz attended the fashion house's fall 2025 couture collection show during Paris Couture Week on Tuesday, wearing a look from the brand. The Oscar-winning actress donned a Chanel jacket, featuring a tailored silhouette with allover shimmering details intricately woven into the fabric. Cruz's outfit also included a black jacket with off-white trim and pearl detailing, along with sinuous cuffs and subtle pinstripe lines of sparkling details. The actress carried a Chanel quilted bag and wore a pair of black heels to complete her ensemble. The Villa d'Este hotel in Italy served as the backdrop for the collection's showcase, featuring designs that paid homage to the Romy Schneider wearing Gabrielle Chanel designs in his 1962 movie 'Boccaccio 70,' per Luisa Zargani's WWD review of the collection. Highlights from the collection included 'tweed miniskirts in a beautiful wisteria hue that matched the blooms on the terrace, for example, and short taffeta dresses in a peach or pink color with flounces and ruffles — although at times the frilly effect could have been toned down a bit,' Zargani added. The collection marked a turning point for the French luxury fashion house. Matthieu Blazy, who spent much of his formative years at Bottega Veneta, was named Chanel's creative director in December 2024. The designer's first collection for the label will be featured in October. As of last April, the designer is reportedly assembling his team. Ahead of the fall 2025 couture show, guests from Sofia Coppola to Cruz, Keira Knightley and more kicked off Paris Couture Week with the Bal d'Été at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs on Sunday in Paris. Cruz also wore a Chanel selection from the label's spring 2025 couture collection to the fete. Spiber Inc. and Iris van Herpen Unite for a Visionary Collaboration at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week AW2025
YAMAGATA, Japan, July 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- At the forefront of high fashion and biomaterial innovation, Japanese biotech venture Spiber, a pioneer in man-made protein fiber, and acclaimed Dutch haute couture designer Iris van Herpen together unveiled one of the designer's two bridal looks during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2025. This partnership represents a powerful dialogue between science and art—two pioneering voices united by a shared aspiration to redefine the future of fashion. Both founded in 2007, Spiber and Iris van Herpen have followed parallel paths of radical experimentation: Spiber in biomaterial engineering, and Van Herpen in avant-garde couture design. Their collaboration signals a deep philosophical alignment, where creativity, technology, and sustainability are not separate pursuits, but interconnected forces shaping a new material narrative. This shared belief is grounded in a common source of inspiration: nature. While Van Herpen draws from the forms, rhythms, and intelligence of the natural world in her designs, Spiber engineers entirely new proteins by designing DNA based on examples found in nature such as spider silk, cashmere fibers, silk cocoons, and more. The result is a new class of material, one not found in the natural world, yet containing the fingerprints of its underlying logic. "Biomimicry is ever-present in Spiber's approach and that is truly similar to our own methods. Fusing the organic with the innovative, recreating nature's way of making a material, starting with a protein… Spiber has been able to translate a complex technology to meet the needs of designers and create something truly wearable, which is a rare quality. I feel Brewed Protein™ fiber brings a lightness and a softness that I am looking for, resulting in fabric that floats around the skin. It has a very attractive, organic, and natural presence which is embodied in the whole look. The Spiber team and I share the same attention to detail and texture—the sensorial qualities of the material." – Iris van Herpen Spiber's Brewed Protein™ fiber is the only man-made protein fiber to be successfully industrialized, positioning the company as a global leader in biomaterials for fashion and beyond. The material forms the foundation of the bridal look, where sheer organza is cut in gradient-sized moonshapes and heatbonded to the laser cut Brewed Protein™ fabric bonings. Hundreds of white coral petals are then stitched upwards onto a nude illusion tulle, spiralling down into a translucent twisted train. "At Spiber, we believe in the expressive power of materials—their ability to tell stories, to inspire emotion, and to redefine our relationship with nature. Working with Iris van Herpen, whose designs go beyond the physical to evoke the beauty of life's complexity, has resulted in an extraordinary manifestation of our mutual values. Our Brewed Protein™ fiber was born from the same curiosity that drives Iris's work: a desire to explore the boundaries of what is possible when we look to nature for questions, without focusing solely on answers. This collaboration reflects a vision of fashion that is both sensorial and systemic, where fabrics are not just worn, but experienced, and where innovation arises from a deep sensitivity and curiosity toward the living world. We're honored to be part of this moment, and hope it marks the beginning of a new paradigm in how we create, feel, and evolve with the materials around us." – Kazuhide Sekiyama, Spiber Co-founder and Representative Executive Officer The artisan bridal look is more than a moment on the runway—it is a statement of possibility. Both Van Herpen and Spiber believe that collaboration across disciplines is essential to addressing the complex challenges facing fashion and the environment. Their work together serves as an artistic and technological blueprint for future innovation. Looking towards the future, Spiber and Van Herpen hope that this is only the beginning. Their teams will explore new possibilities with a shared ambition to continue pushing the boundaries of material innovation and reimagining what fashion can be. Spiber Inc. Established in 2007, Spiber is a biotech venture company based in Yamagata, Japan. Dedicated to creating innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable well-being, Spiber has developed a new material solution inspired by nature's diversity and circularity: the "Brewed Protein™" material platform. By harnessing the power of precision fermentation, Spiber engineers proteins at the molecular level, resulting in versatile materials that can be tailored to specific needs. This innovative solution opens up new possibilities for sustainable and high-performance materials in various industries, including apparel, food, automotives, and more. Spiber website: Spiber is a trademark or a registered trademark of Spiber Inc. in Japan and other countries. Brewed Protein™ is a trademark or a registered trademark of Spiber Inc. in Japan and other countries. Brewed Protein™ fiber A premium, plant-based material produced using Spiber's fermentation (brewing) technology, providing a circular solution and pioneering a new category of protein fibers. Due to its plant-based ingredients and resource-efficient production process, Brewed Protein™ fiber has the potential to significantly reduce environmental and animal welfare impacts compared to traditional materials. Iris van Herpen Since its establishment in 2007 and its prestigious membership in the Fédération de la Haute Couture in 2010, the Maison of Iris van Herpen has consistently combined innovative techniques with traditional Couture craftsmanship, resulting in sensorial designs that beautifully capture the intricacy and diversity of the natural world. 5 New Fandom Must-Have Vinyls for Your Collection
The best part of our shows and games can oftentimes be the music that accompanies their best moments. It is more than just background noise — it guides us through the narrative. The right music can turn an okay television show, movie, or video game into a masterpiece. There is an abundance of quintessential soundtracks from media that are worth playing beyond their source material. For collectors like me out there, vinyls are a perfect way to experience the music on your own terms. So, record lovers, get your turntables out for these five recent must-have fandom vinyls ready for purchase or pre-order. Joe Hisaishi's 'Symphonic Pieces – Collector's Edition' 'Symphonic Pieces – Collector's Edition Vinyl' by Joe Hisaishi, featuring music from Studio Ghibli. Photo: Instagram @ Joe Hisaishi is the artist behind many of the classic Studio Ghibli songs we have come to love. In celebration of his birthday earlier this month, Deutsche Grammophon released a limited white marble 12″ fandom vinyl. The songs on this special edition include 'Merry-Go-Round of Life' from Howl's Moving Castle and 'One Summer's Day (The Name of Life),' from Spirited Away . While there may only be two songs on this record, it is only $20, which is considerably on the low end for collector pieces, and it's the first time either of these songs has been on vinyl. For lovers of Studio Ghibli, this fandom vinyl very well may be a must-have, especially since all other vinyls are sold out. Purchase the record on Hisaishi's Shop website here and shipping starts Dec. 19. RELATED: 6 of the Best Studio Ghibli Films The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes OST The blue vinyl of 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake OST,' available on presale at Urban Outfitters. Photo: Urban Outfitters Fans were welcomed back to Panem with the recent release of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The popularity of the film skyrocketed thanks to outstanding performances by Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth. However, its album on vinyl may be a fight to claim in stores, especially since the hit single 'You Can't Catch Me Now' is by Olivia Rodrigo. The odds may be ever in your favor if you preorder the album now, which features hits like 'Pure as the Driven Snow' from the film, performed by Zegler. Preorder is already available of the vinyl. Through Rodrigo's website , the Blue Edition — which has unique artwork on a teal-looking LP — is available for $33. It ships on Feb. 2. Also, It can be found through Urban Outfitters, though it retails at $39.99 through their website . An orange vinyl, considered the 'Classic Edition' is also available for presale at $32.99 through Rodrigo's website. It can also be found on more traditional locations like Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon for around the same price. For those who are only interested in Rodrigo's single, she is also selling the 7″ for 'You Can't Catch Me Now' on her website for $14, but it is currently out of stock. Picture Vinyl of 'Enemy' by Imagine Dragons from the Arcane OST Picture Vinyl of 'Enemy' by Imagine Dragons. Photo: Interscope Records It is painful waiting for Arcane , which Netflix says is set to come out in 2024. The show, which gives us backstory on League of Legends characters Jinx and Vi, was exceptional when it was released in November 2021. The soundtrack intimately weaves watchers through an epic tale of betrayal and change. While we wait for the next, Imagine Dragons gave fans their hit single 'Enemy' on a limited edition picture vinyl. A picture vinyl shows an actual image on the playing surface instead of the typical black or colored vinyl. Side A of the vinyl is the version of the song featuring JID — Side B is only with Imagine Dragons. The vinyl shows the steampunk art style of Arcane, which is what made it stand out so prominently to me. Also, the Arcane Tavern, a well known location in the show, is in the center of the vinyl in a purple hue. The only one on this list, preorder the 'Enemy' picture vinyl for $22 on the Interscope Records website. It is set to ship on Dec. 19. RELATED: Check out our reviews of Arcane ! Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight 2xLP The Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight 2xLP brings disco back from the 1980's. Photo: iam8bit While you may not be able to be a Phantom Thief, you can get this steal of a deal for the Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight 2xLP. It brings disco back from the 1980s and puts it right back on your speakers. This game, based on the Persona anime, brings a soundtrack that is energetic, groovy, and rhythmic. The game's developer Atlus reimagined the album with remixes and new music. This set has two vinyls for a total of 18 songs, and the vinyls are splatter red. Splatter vinyls are assorted colors of vinyl pressed together and have a very creative aesthetic. Plus, the jacket of the record is unique for this vinyl, with a metallic look showing off a few of the game's characters. Currently, preorders are set for $42.99 on iam8bit's website. Shipping will be in the first quarter of 2024. The records for The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2xLP. Photo: Amazon The Super Mario Bros . movie hit theaters this year, bringing in $1.36 billion in box office sales. The soundtrack draws upon the original themes in the score and gives listeners the same nostalgic feel from playing the games as a child. The composer of this film's music, Brian Tyler, made sure to correctly pay homage to the original franchise. He turned to Koji Kondo, who made the original themes, for collaboration. Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures partnered with iam8bit to mint this vinyl, printed red and green in symbolism of the plumbing brothers we came come to know deeply. It is also available in yellow and pink. And yes, 'Peaches' sung by Jack Black is on there. Purchase it for $42.99 here. It can also be found on Amazon for $64.95. Why Get Them on Vinyl? Vinyl creates a sense of nostalgia for its listeners. It may not be as easy as putting in an earbud and pulling Apple Music open, but instead, it gives a personalized feeling that can only come from the physical copy. And using fandom vinyls for your listening experience will only enhance that feeling. These soundtracks bring leaders back to those wonderful moments playing the games, or watching the films, and having them memorialized in a record is a wonderful way to hold onto them! For those who love vinyl and music as much as I do, these are the best fandom vinyls to get this month.
