Burnley beat Norwich to go back top
Burnley took another big step towards going up as they climbed back to the top of the Championship with a 2-1 victory over Norwich at Turf Moor.
The hosts were on top from the off and made their pressure count with two quick goals in the first half.

The breakthrough came 14 minutes in when Josh Cullen floated a lovely ball into the box, and Hannibal Mejbri kept his cool to stick it past Angus Gunn.
It didn't take long for the Clarets to grab another. Josh Brownhill jumped on a dodgy free-kick from Norwich deep in their own half and played in Jaidon Anthony, who charged forward and made it count to double their lead.
Scott Parker's side looked comfortable in the second half, but things got a bit nervy late on when Kenny McLean's header across goal gave Jack Stacey an easy tap-in.
Burnley managed to see it out though, , keeping their unbeaten league run going – now up to 29 games – and the win sends them back above Leeds by three points, and five clear of third-placed Sheffield United.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to join Burnley after Everton loan spell
Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to join Burnley after spending last season on loan at Everton, according to RMC Sports journalist Fabrice Hawkins and Fabrizio Romano. The 23-year-old was with the Toffees at Goodison Park last term, playing 11 times across all competitions. He failed to weigh in with a goal or an assist as his fitness struggles hindered him from regular opportunities. Everton opted against doing a permanent deal for Broja as they prepare for life at Hill Dickinson Stadium and have signed French striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal instead. However, Burnley are keen on the Chelsea outcast upon their return to the Premier League, and he will be desperate to prove himself after some underwhelming performances in front of goal in recent seasons. The England-born Albanian international was at Fulham in 2023-24, making only eight appearances without scoring. Broja last impressed back in 2022-23, notching nine goals in 38 games for Southampton, and Everton were hoping he could recover that form on Merseyside last term. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and it will be interesting to see how the striker fares as he looks to impress at his sixth club. Burnley are desperate to impress as they look to retain their Premier League status at the end of next season. The Turf Moor club have completed permanent deals for Bashir Humphreys, Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Edwards and Zian Flemming after their impressive loan spells last term. Clarets manager Scott Parker has also added Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss, Axel Tuanzebe, Loum Tchaouna, Kyle Walker and Jacob Bruun Larsen to his squad, and Broja is next in line. He is no longer needed at Chelsea as the Blues have more than enough options in the striking department, but he still has the potential to turn out solid. Parker will be eager to pull out all the stops to get the best out of Broja and have him firing on all cylinders.

A broad agreement has been reached between the clubs but the 23-year-old is yet to green light the move himself, with a five-year deal on the table. Broja is keen on a move to Turf Moor but the move is not expected to go through until early next week. Sources say the move could be worth up to £20m but the exact price has not been confirmed. Broja joined the Chelsea academy in 2009 and signed his first professional deal with them in 2020. He has made 38 appearances for the senior team, having had loan stints with Vitesse, Southampton, Fulham and Everton. He scored his first goal for Chelsea in October 2022 but was subsequently ruled out of the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in a friendly against Aston Villa a few months later.
