YSRCP's debacle on June 4 marked the completion of one year of public awakening: Pawan Kalyan

The Hindu04-06-2025
Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) President K. Pawan Kalyan said the NDA alliance's phenomenal victory in the 2024 general elections was historic, and the manner in which people have overthrown the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) reflected their deep-rooted anger against its authoritarian rule.
He stated in a message on 'X' that June 4, 2025 marked the completion of one year of public awakening and the JSP's achievement of 100% strike rate in the elections. It was on June 4, 2024 when the election results were declared.
Mr. Kalyan observed that the people have rightly pulled the curtains down on YSRCP which treated Andhra Pradesh (AP) like its fiefdom.
Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was guiding the nation on the path of development, and due to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision, his leadership qualities and the tenacity with which he overcame challenges, enabled AP to make commendable progress.
The NDA Government was committed to achieving the Swarna Andhra vision and becoming a crucial partner with the Centre in reaching the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, Mr. Kalyan said, while assuring the people of more efficient governance and promising to work with greater responsibility.

LJP-RV eyes Shahabad region for Chirag, party's survey finds strong support there

Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), a key NDA ally, is close to finalising the assembly seat for party chief Chirag Paswan. A recent internal survey conducted by the party indicated that Chirag has popular support base in Shahabad region, comprising four districts—Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur and Buxar—and he is likely to contest the polls from the area. This aligns with the party's decision to field him from a "general seat" to convey the message that he is not the leader of any particular community, but is ready to lead the entire Bihar. "The initial report of the survey conducted by the party indicates that the people of Shahabad are ready to repose their faith in Chirag's leadership. We may very soon call a meeting of the national working committee," the party's Bihar in charge and Chirag's brother-in-law, Arun Bharti, announced through a social media post on Wednesday. Bharti even went on to say that it's time Chirag should play a "decisive role" in Bihar politics. Describing the report of the party's internal survey, which is still under progress, as very "encouraging", Bharti said the people of the Shahabad region are waiting to lend their support to Chirag. He said that the people of Bihar now clearly want Chirag to come to Bihar and "take up big political responsibility". Chirag has so far held two big rallies in Ara, a place very close to Bikramganj where PM Narendra Modi held a rally, and also Nalanda, the home district of Nitish. While he held the "Nav Sankalp Rally" in Ara on June 8, he addressed the "Bahujan Bhim Sankalp Samagam" in Rajgir on June 29. Now, he is set to address two more rallies in Chhapra and Munger in the coming weeks to give momentum to his party's plan. "The message is very clear. The party has come into poll mode, and Chirag wants to expand his party's base by reaching out to the masses in various pockets of the state, which could prove helpful for the NDA," the party's chief spokesperson, Rajesh Bhatt, told the TOI on Wednesday.

BJP's resolution lauds Modi govt's achievements, flays GA's ‘appeasement politics'

Patna: The Bihar BJP in its working committee meeting on Wednesday passed a two-page resolution highlighting PM Narendra Modi govt's achievements in the last 11 years and against the "appeasement politics" of the opposition Grand Alliance besides RJD led by Lalu Prasad for opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Act in the country. Around 1,200 BJP leaders and office-bearers, including all party MPs, MLAs and MLCs, in the presence of defence minister Rajnath Singh, also passed a censure motion against Lalu for allegedly disrespecting Baba Saheb B R Ambedkar on June 11. The resolution highlighted the welfare schemes launched by PM Narendra Modi to benefit 80 crore beneficiaries in the country in his 11 years of the NDA govt. The BJP also passed a 'Vijay Sankalp Prastav' declaring that "Lalu and his allies cannot defeat us" in the state assembly polls this year. The resolution attacked Lalu's son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Congress leaders Kanhaiya Kumar and Imran Pratapgarhi for protesting against the Waqf Act in a rally in Patna Gandhi Maidan recently. "Their stand is anti-Constitution and in line with the politics of appeasement, much to the detriment of Pasmanda Muslims, who have been victims of oppression for centuries," the resolution reads. "BJP will never compromise on the welfare of any section of society. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo The benefits of Waqf (Amendment) Act will be reaped by the generations to come," it reads further. The political resolution also criticised the Emergency imposed by the Congress govt 50 years ago and lauded Rajnath Singh for "giving a strong message to China against double standards towards terror by refusing to sign the joint statement at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Defence Ministers' meeting recently. Dedicating the 'Vijay Sankalp Prastav' to "Mata Sita", it mentioned the Bihar govt's decision to sanction Rs 882 crore for the development of her birthplace at Punaura Dham in Sitamarhi district. The Vijay Sankalp Prastav also highlighted the state's economic growth under the NDA rule, besides pointing out the Centre's nod for conducting caste census in the country.

Jagan condemns police action on Foreign Medical Graduates, extends support to protesting students

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy voiced serious concern over the growing distress among medical graduates who studied abroad and are now being denied Permanent Registration (PR) by the State government. A delegation of affected students, accompanied by leaders from the YSRCP Student Wing, met Jagan at the party's central office in Tadepalli on Wednesday (July 2). The students explained that despite fulfilling all requirements — completing their medical education abroad, clearing the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), and completing internships in accordance with NMC guidelines — the government is withholding their PR numbers. Some students also alleged being compelled to work beyond the mandatory internship period without pay. On the occasion, Mr. Jagan condemned the alleged police lathi-charge on protesting students that took place last night and extended his unwavering support to their cause. He described the government's stance as 'harassment' not just of the students, but of their families as well. Mr. Jagan criticised the incumbent government's handling of the medical education sector, recalling that during his tenure, the YSRCP government had established 17 new government medical colleges to expand opportunities for aspiring doctors, with five already operational. 'This government has not only halted the remaining colleges but has even returned the medical seats allocated by the Centre,' he said. Reassuring the students, Mr. Jagan stated: 'We will stand by you until justice is done. Your future cannot be jeopardised by an indifferent administration.' YSRCP Student Wing leaders Panuganti Chaitanya, A. Ravichandra, and several young doctors were also present at the meeting.
