Saja Boys, the fictional group from Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters, tops US Spotify chart
This means the Saja Boys is the highest-charting male K-pop group in US Spotify history, beating K-pop stars BTS. Your Idol is sung by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo and samUIL Lee.
Fictional girl group Huntr/x from the film clinched the No 2 spot on the same Daily Top Songs chart with their song Golden, sung by Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, setting the record for the highest US Spotify chart position by a female K-pop group.
K-pop Demon Hunters' namesake soundtrack album also sat at the No 1 spot for Global Spotify charts from Jun 30 to Jul 3.

The 2025 animated film follows Huntr/x, consisting of Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who lead a double life as demon hunters. They face off against the Saja Boys, consisting of Jinu, Abby, Romance, Baby and Mystery, who are secretly demons in disguise and have been sent by demon king Gwi-ma to steal the souls of Huntr/x's fans.
Voice actors in the film include Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong and Squid Game's Lee Byung-hun. Produced by Sony Pictures animation, the film is currently the top movie on Netflix in Singapore.

Jamus Lim to introduce wife's poetry collection at the SG launch on July 19
SINGAPORE: Over social media posts on Wednesday morning, Jamus Lim played hype man to his wife, the Chilean-American writer Eneida Patricia Alcalde. 'I don't write much about my better half, in no small part because she is a highly private person, but when she does something that is absolutely worth crowing about, it's impossible to keep quiet, so I'm deeply proud to share that my amazing wife, Eneida, has released her debut poetry collection, written in the stillness of night right here in Singapore, while our daughter and I slept,' Assoc Prof Lim wrote. The collection, titled 'The Wealth We Surrendered,' was published in the United States in May, and will be launched in Singapore on July 19 at Book Bar on Duxton Road at 4:30 p.m. At the launch, titled 'The Wealth We Share,' the Workers' Party Member of Parliament (MP) will introduce the book. Max Pasakorn will be moderating the event. Assoc Prof Lim explained that Ms Alcalde's poetry collection is in large part a tribute to her late father, whom he described as 'a man of deep conviction, mischievous wit, and unwavering compassion for those at the margins of society.' Ms Alcalde's father had been a political exile from Chile at the time of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. 'He carried the scars of history with dignity and grace—yet never lost his appetite for conversation, especially on history, literature, music, art, and politics. He navigated the inevitable ups and downs of life with unflinching candour and an unapologetic, booming laugh,' Assoc Prof Lim, who also posted a photo of his father-in-law, added. He also reminisced about having spent time with Ms Alcalde's father in his home in rural Pennsylvania. On her Instagram account on June 30, Ms Alcalde explained her father had visited Singapore before he passed. Afterwards, she 'wrote through (her) grief here in Singapore.' 'It feels fitting to celebrate the birth of these poems in the place I now call home—a place that, once upon a time, was also home to Chilean poet and Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda, who lived and worked as a diplomat,' the author added. She also wrote that Assoc Prof Lim had been 'incredibly close' to her father and that, at the launch, 'the book's themes, including immigration, memory, love, grief, belonging (and not belonging), cultural identity and resilience, and legacy' will be discussed. Assoc Prof Lim also put in a good word about Book Bar, calling it a space that 'champions both emerging and established voices in our local literary landscape.' He mentioned it in the context of the recently published results of the National Library Board's (NLB) National Reading Habits Study 2024, which showed that just three out of 10 respondents had read a SingLit book over the past year, largely a result of a lack of awareness. The highly-anticipated Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights returns this September with another spine-chilling collaboration with Netflix series Stranger Things. Running for 18 nights from Sep 26 to Nov 1, this year marks the event's 13th edition. Prior to the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things, fans can relive the show's most intense moments in a brand-new haunted house teeming with monsters from the Upside Down and fan-favourite characters. Scare-seekers will be transported through some of the show's most horrifying locations – from the shadowy halls of Hawkins National Laboratory to the neon-lit Starcourt Mall and into Vecna's blood-red mind lair. 'Stranger Things has been one of the most enduring horror series of our time and with the show drawing to an end, we wanted to give fans the opportunity to relive all the best moments right here at Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights,' said Markham Gannon, senior director of entertainment at Resorts World Sentosa. 'We have had such success working with Netflix on our haunted houses and this is gearing up to be our most exciting edition of the event yet.' This edition marks the fourth collaboration with Netflix. Mediacorp music festival Cloud 9 returns at It's Giving Fest with performances from Benjamin Kheng, Shazza and more
In the mood for some local music this weekend? Mediacorp's Cloud 9 concert is back as part of It's Giving Fest, a free two-day festival from 11am at *SCAPE to celebrate Singapore's 60th birthday. The concert will take place on the evenings of Jul 12 and 13 from 7pm to 9.30pm and will feature performances from over 10 homegrown artistes, such as Benjamin Kheng, Alyph, Fariz Jabba, Shazza, Shye and Culture SG. Admission is free, with entry granted to the first 1,000 attendees each evening on a first-come, first-served basis. Cloud 9's inaugural edition, held on Feb 15, was staged as a music festival and drew a crowd of over 4,000 fans. In addition to live performances, It's Giving Fest will also showcase original creative works, including eight short films and five song compositions produced by students from institutes of higher learning. The works will reflect their aspirations and hope for Singapore. Other highlights include it's Giving Fest participants teaming up with local artistes such as Desmond Tan, Annette Lee, Zhang Ze Tong, Das and more in a Back to School: Class Clash Showdown. This segment features five high-energy games, with exclusive prizes to be won. Pre-registration is required for this activity, along with a S$5 donation to SGSHARE – the national regular giving programme. Beyond these, attendees can also look forward to a diverse range of activities including a celebrity charity auction, youth talent showcase, interactive SG60 digital tapestry, arcade games, flea markets and food trucks.
