Hulk Hogan was ‘devastated' by reaction in last WWE appearance
Hulk Hogan's longtime manager and friend, Jimmy Hart, revealed that the fans viciously booing the late wrestler during his final appearance on WWE television on Jan. 6, 2025 'devastated' Hogan.
The larger-than-life superstar — real name Terry Bollea — died on July 24 at the age of 71 after suffering a heart attack at his Clearwater, Fla. home.
'That devastated him,' Hart said of the jeers on an episode of 'Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw' published Thursday, while noting the political undertones. 'That always bothered him, it sure did.'

Hogan often drew massive cheers from the crowd during his career — even at times during his days in the villainous NWO stable — but the fans treated him like a true heel earlier this year.
To usher in the new era of 'Raw' on Netflix, WWE turned to Hogan for an appearance at the live taping in Los Angeles.
Normally, this would result in a huge pop.
But the fans at the Intuit Dome didn't have Hulkamania flowing through their veins and booed Hogan in a development that surely neither WWE nor Hogan expected.
WWE is usually not in the business of bringing back storyline heroes to get showered in boos, and it seemed that the fans rebelled against Hogan's off-screen actions.
Hogan made racist remarks in 2007 that came to light in 2015, and he championed for President Trump during the Republican National Convention, among other endorsements.
Hart said he mentioned to Hogan before the appearance how they would be venturing into a liberal-leaning state, adding that Hogan did publicity wearing a Trump/J.D. Vance t-shirt.
'I'm going, 'Oh, my God. This is going to be good,'' Hart said.

Hart noticed 'something didn't feel right' when fans started chirping at Hogan after landing in Los Angeles, mentioning Trump and Vance.
While Hart described the reaction as 'mixed,' most would remember the night for the boos.
Hogan asked Hart what he think happened upon returning to the bowels of the arena, and his friend told him politics came into play.

'I said, 'Hulk, it's simple. Blue state, red state. Trump, Vance. I mean, really?'' said Hart, who noted Hogan received cheers the next week during an event in Texas.
Hogan later said during a Feb. 4 appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show' that he expected that reaction, acknowledged his politics and unspecified past controversies factored into the reaction.
He curiously also believed the crowd booed him because of his time in the NWO.

'I think the politics had a whole lot to do with it, as you said,' Hogan said.
He added: 'You got to realize, last time I ran hard in L.A. I was a bad guy, I Hollywood Hogan, man. I was riding dirty with the boys, (Kevin) Nash and (Scott) Hall, we were spray-painting people and crotch-shotting everybody and started out the 'Too Sweet' stuff. So, the last time I was there as a heel.'
Hogan, though, in contrast to Hart's comment, said he didn't mind the harsh reception since it generated massive internet engagement.

He added that he would have leaned into the jeers and cut a heel — bad guy — promo, but had to be a babyface — good guy — since WWE is a partner for his 'Real American Beer.'
'But anyway, at the end of the day, we kind of looked at it the next day because I had like 11 billion impressions,' Hogan said of a video of his return, 'and some of the other guys, some of the big stars that were on that card that night, only had like 3 billion. Don't want to name names.'
WWE honored Hogan on both 'SmackDown' and 'Raw' since his death.
Hart, who made countless appearances alongside Hogan throughout the years, spanning multiple promotions, was stunned after learning of his friend's death.
'It just hits so fast,' Hart told People. 'It was like, 'Oh my God.' We thought he was doing so well, you know? We didn't go to see him at the house and didn't go to see him at the hospital, because we wanted to make sure that he didn't get any infections or anything else, like if anybody had a cold or brought anything in. So, that's what we all did.'

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results As Logan Paul Pins Jelly Roll
WWE SummerSlam 2025 featured one of the most random tag team matches a pro wrestling fan could dream of: Randy Orton teaming with country singer Jelly Roll against Drew McIntyre and social media sensation Logan Paul. A true sign of WWE's attempts to integrate with mainstream pop culture, this celebrity tag team clash was actually one of the company's best built rivalries heading into SummerSlam. It almost didn't happen, either. Jelly Roll was reportedly a replacement for rapper Travis Scott, who had a 'falling out' with WWE despite playing a major role in John Cena's epic heel turn. Jelly Roll's inclusion in SummerSlam went surprisingly well, though, and in front of fans in MetLife Stadium, the 'I'm Not Okay' singer delivered a shockingly good performance alongside 'The Viper.' WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results for Jelly Roll and Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul Orton and Jelly Roll seemed destined to leave New Jersey with a memorable win at WWE SummerSlam. But Logan Paul spoiled the party. Capping off a red hot celebrity tag team match, Paul ended a wild finishing sequence with a soaring frog splash on Jelly Roll, pinning the 'Liar' singer to pick up the win for the heel duo. Among the key highlights in the star-studded celebrity tag team match were: Chalk that up as a a big win for McIntyre, who has suffered his fair share of signature defeats in 2025. Most recently, McIntyre also lost to Orton at the latest edition of Saturday Night's Main Event a few weeks ago. Paul, of course, has had his fair share of marquee losses in WWE in recent years. This Saturday in MetLife Stadium, WWE did the exactly opposite of what it tends to do in celebrity matches and gave the heel, full-time stars at WWE SummerSlam. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results: What's Next for Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre? After Orton and Jelly Roll's loss at at WWE SummerSlam 2025, the story between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre is far from over. Both stars only recently returned from lengthy layoffs and have essentially been at each other's throats since their returns. Yet, McIntyre still hasn't picked up that signature pin since coming back. In fact, McIntyre also suffered a significant singles loss to Damian Priest at Saturday Night's Main Event in what has been a running theme for the Scottish superstar. Though McIntyre has been arguably WWE's best all-around performer over the past few years, WWE has, time and time again, failed to capitalize on that momentum. WWE SummerSlam was a step in the right direction for the Scottish superstar. He won, and he needs to win more often. In actuality, Jelly Roll's loss was a bit of a surprise. Babyface celebrity wrestlers typically win their WWE matches, so the expectation was that Jelly Roll would too. But Jelly Roll has been a big hit in WWE during this brief run, and he's expected to continue working with WWE moving forward. That would explain why he lost to Paul, potentially setting up another match with the social media star down the road. That could even be a marquee singles match that would surely attract widespread media attention for WWE, which is exactly what it wants. Given that Jelly Roll performed well in MetLife Stadium, bringing him back after that loss is a no-brainer. Orton should target McIntyre moving forward while Jelly Roll and Paul can settle their beef once and for all once WWE SummerSlam is in the rearview mirror, perhaps on Raw on Netflix or SmackDown in the months ahead.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results As Tiffany Stratton Upsets Jade Cargill
At WWE SummerSlam 2025, Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill represented a true changing of the guard on SmackDown. For the better part of the last decade, established stars like Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have dominated the women's main event scene. But at MetLife Stadium, Stratton and Cargill clashed in a battle between two stars who should be cornerstones of the division for years to come. Cargill, the 2025 Queen of the Ring winner, went one-on-one with Stratton, the 2024 Money in the Bank winner, to determine not just who would hold the WWE Women's Championship but also which star WWE would build its future around. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results for Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill Just a month after becoming Queen of the Ring, Jade Cargill looked like a surefire bet to add one more accolade to her resume at WWE SummerSlam 2025: WWE Women's Champion. But she didn't. After a back-and-forth babyface battle, Stratton, the clear underdog despite being champion, shockingly defeated Cargill with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. That surprising victory adds another impressive one to a long list of successful title defenses for Stratton, who's also beaten Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax and Trish Stratus. Some of the key highlights in the WWE Women's Championship match at SummerSlam were: Stratton has held the WWE Women's Championship since the first SmackDown of 2025 in January, when she successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on friend-turned-foe Nia Jax. Though this has been underwhelming title reign for one of WWE's brightest young prospects, it is continuing after all. A disappointing WrestleMania rivalry with Flair and a lackluster feud with Stratus, who herself called the feud 'boring,' defined what has been a pedestrian title reign, one with solid matches but a lack of intrigue week-to-week. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results: What's Next for Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill? Stratton's WWE SummerSlam win could, and should, serve as a turning point for the talented 26-year-old, who is still one WWE's most well-rounded rising stars. WWE really had no choice but to turn Stratton babyface when she cashed in on Jax this January, but the follow-up to that epic moment did not come remotely close to matching the build-up to it. Why? Well, there are a slew of reasons, including a wonky feud with Flair, but at the heart of Stratton's struggles to truly click as champion was the fact that she was working in an unnatural babyface Role. Stratton is clearly more fit to be a heel, and her win over Cargill could serve at the impetus that ultimately leads to Stratton turning back to her heel roots. Ideally, WWE will either move on from this brief rivalry with Cargill immediately or end it within the next month or so. WWE needs to do some creative rebuilding of Stratton's image, and a good match with Cargill at SummerSlam was a nice start. But Stratton must get an intriguing long-term feud ASAP. As for Cargill, reports have indicated that she is in line for a massive push on SmackDown. In fact, the only reason that push didn't start in early 2025 was Cargill's injury, which forced the company to delay plans to make her women's champion by several months. That's why Cargill's SummerSlam loss was such a shocker. Heading into SummerSlam, the expectation was that the former AEW star would be portrayed as nearly unbeatable, just as she's been for most of her WWE career. With top SmackDown names like Alexa Bliss and Flair busy in the tag title picture, SummerSlam seemed like the right time to strap the proverbial rocket on Cargill. Instead, as is the case with Stratton, WWE may be forced to turn Cargill heel or help her rebound from her surprising SummerSlam loss by moving on to a few rivalries with some of SmackDown's upper midcarders. That could include the likes of Jax or even Chelsea Green, but after Cargill's unforeseen loss at WWE SummerSlam, the company's long-term goal should be to build her back up after a disappointing outcome in MetLife Stadium.
