Five Arab mines lead future of nuclear energy in region
A statistical report considered the five largest uranium mines in the Arab world to be strategic pillars that support the efforts of the region's countries to develop peaceful nuclear energy programs.
According to the Russia Today website, based on a special report by the Energy Research Unit on the region's reserves, these mines, located in Algeria, Mauritania, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, stand out as promising assets that represent significant economic and strategic opportunities.
According to statistics, these mines help achieve self-sufficiency in this field, in light of the growing global demand for clean energy sources.
These reserves support Dabaa nuclear power plant project, in cooperation with Russia, with a total capacity of 4,800 megawatts.
These five mines represent the largest Arab uranium potential and open up broad prospects for the region's countries to enhance their energy security and develop peaceful nuclear industries.
This comes amid a global shift toward low-emission technologies, where these countries are expected to play pivotal roles in the future energy mix.
