While Jake Gyllenhaal and English director Guy Ritchie are fast becoming frequent collaborators, it looks like "Road House 2" won't be one of the projects they work on together.
Back in April it was revealed that Ritchie was directing the sequel to Amazon MGM's remake, but now Deadline is reporting that the "Fountain of Youth" director has left the project.

Deadline further reports that the plan is to move forward in a search for a new director, with shooting of "Road House 2" still scheduled for the fall.
Doug Liman directed the 2024 remake though it seems doubtful he would be a candidate for the sequel.
"Road House" was reportedly originally meant for a theatrical release and Liman's compensation shrank when the film instead went straight to streaming. The director was vocal about his unhappiness in interviews about the movie.
While "Road House" may not have had a chance at the box office, the film proved to be a streaming hit. Releasing on Amazon Prime Video last March, the film had close to 80 million viewers in its first eight weeks.
According to then-Amazon MGM Studios head Jennifer Salke, that made the film Amazon's "most-watched produced film debut ever on a worldwide basis."
Will Beall is writing the script for "Road House 2". Gyllenhaal is producing along with Josh McLaughlin, and Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. Ivan Atkinson is executive producing.
"Road House" is a reboot of the 1989 action classic starring Patrick Swayze. Gyllenhaal steps into Swayze's role, playing Elwood Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter.
Dalton has it rough when the movie opens, living in his car and contemplating suicide. He's offered a job as a bouncer, and when he takes the job Dalton finds himself in the middle of a conflict involving outlaws, bikers, and a ruthless land developer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Last month reports emerged that "Guardians of the Galaxy" alum Dave Bautista is circling a role in "Road House 2." There's no word yet on whether or not Bautista has signed on to the sequel or who he might be playing.

Soap star Alan Fletcher says Neighbours is finishing ‘at its peak'

Actor Alan Fletcher said Neighbours is coming to an end while the Australian soap is 'at its peak'. The programme had its final day of filming earlier this month after its two-year Prime Video revival which followed it being dropped from broadcast by Channel 5 in 2022. Fletcher, 68, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for 30 years, said it is 'fair to say' he is now more famous in the UK than Australia due to the popularity of the show here. He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB): 'It's extremely popular. It sits in the top five programmes (on Amazon). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Neighbours (@neighbours) 'Amazon gave us an extra 400 episodes, and we are eternally grateful. 'I have to say to you, when we finished filming, rather than the sadness we had the first time, I sat back and thought, 'Do you know what? We've been given the opportunity to make the best Neighbours we ever could have made'. 'That's where we finished up. I reckon Neighbours is at its peak.' The cast wrapped filming on July 11 at Nunawading Studios and the soap's final broadcast after 40 years will be in December. The programme, which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce among others, has followed the lives of people living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough since 1985. Neighbours was dropped by Channel 5 in 2022 after it failed to secure new funding, with a finale episode in July that year attracting an average audience of 2.5 million when several well-known characters returned to the show to say goodbye. The soap's return was announced in late 2022, with a social media clip featuring some of the characters being told the news. In February this year it was announced the programme would end after reports production company Fremantle failed to secure a deal with Amazon.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection restock live — where to get limited-edition PS5 Slim, DualSense and PS Portal today

1. Quick Links2. U.S. restock3. U.K. restock4. LIVE: Latest updates Second chances don't come around all too often, especially when it comes to scoring limited-edition items like the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. If you'd asked me just a few days ago whether I thought Sony would ever restock the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection, my answer would have been a resounding no. But it turns out I'd have been very much mistaken. To my great surprise, Sony has confirmed it will be restocking select items from the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection this week. But quantities will be "highly limited" so you'll need to check out super fast when they drop. The ultra-rare PS5 Pro bundle isn't resurfacing, but in the U.K., the limited-edition PS5 Slim Bundle, PlayStation Portal and DualSense controller decked out in retro PS1-style grey are all returning today (July 21) at 10 a.m. BST. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the restock is pretty limited. Only the 30th Anniversary DualSense controller will be restocked (on July 21 at 7 a.m. PT). But still, this nostalgia-baiting PS5 pad has been sold out for months, and is still highly sought-after, so I'm confident it's going to sell out in a matter of seconds. You will need a PlayStation Plus membership (any tier) to purchase and the restock is taking place exclusively at PlayStation Direct. Don't have a PS+ subscription? There will be a second restock open to all on Wednesday, July 23. I've been tracking hard-to-buy gaming items for more than five years, from the original run of the 30th Anniversary Collection to the currently sold-out Nintendo Switch 2, and I'm here to help you score a limited-edition item in this restock with live updates and the latest reports on availability all week long. The regular PS5 DualSense Controller has been given a special 30th Anniversary makeover. This limited-edition PS5 pad celebrates the look of the original PlayStation controller and is the most affordable item in the 30th Anniversary Collection. It will be restocked at 7 a.m. PT on July 21. Check stock: $79 @ Amazon | $79 @ Best Buy | $79 @ GameStop | $79 @ Walmart The PS5 Digital Edition 30th Anniversary Edition Bundle includes a PS5 Digital Edition console with 1TB storage, a DualSense controller and a vertical stand all decked out in a retro gray colorway. Again, it comes with a Console Cover for the PS5 Disc Drive, but the Disc Drive itself is sold separately. It's set to be restocked on PlayStation Direct at 10 a.m. BST on Monday, July 21. The PlayStation Portal Remote Player has got a retro coat of paint to celebrate PlayStation's 30th Anniversary. This device allows you to stream games from your PS5 console to this handheld device, allowing you to enjoy your games away from your actual console (as long as you have a strong internet connection). The PS5's DualSense Controller has never looked more nostalgic than it does wrapped in this PS1-themed colorway as part of the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection. This limited-edition controller is being restocked at 10 a.m. BST on July 21, but you'll need a PS+ membership to buy.

Amazon launches new fund to support creative careers in Bolton

Amazon has launched a new fund to support access to creative careers. The Regional Creatives Fund will offer grants of up to £30,000 to UK charities. It will help people from underrepresented backgrounds access careers in fields such as publishing, music, gaming, film, TV, fashion, and advertising. The scheme is open to organisations in Bolton and across the UK. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said: "I want every young person to have the opportunity to build a successful career within the creative industries, which is one of this country's greatest assets. "Whether it's in film, TV, gaming, fashion or music, we have so much homegrown talent and I am delighted that the Regional Creatives Fund will help shine a spotlight on that right across the country helping people contribute to our national story. "Alongside our Creative Industries Sector Plan, this new fund will help to support growth in these fast-growing sectors by preparing the next generation of creatives to tell our national story on the world stage." The fund supports the government's Creative Places Growth Fund and is designed to increase access to creative industry careers among underserved communities. Single organisations can apply for up to £30,000, while consortiums can seek up to £100,000. Applicants must be UK-registered charities currently running programmes that upskill people from underrepresented backgrounds for creative industry careers. Paul Firth, director of the global music industry at Amazon Music, said: "Amazon has been a passionate supporter of creative industries in the UK for many years and the Regional Creatives Fund will supercharge that support in Bolton and across the country. "The aim of the Regional Creatives Fund is to help charities amplify the reach of existing programmes that support pathways to careers in the creative industries. "We understand talent is everywhere, but access isn't, and we're working to change that. "Through the Regional Creatives Fund, we want to help create a future where creativity belongs to everyone."
