Itikyala Mandal Chosen as Pilot for Bhu Bharati Land Reform Drive; Free Application Submission at Revenue Conferences
Speaking at a Bhu Bharati Revenue Conference held in Gopal Dinne village of Itikyala Mandal on Monday, the Collector attended as the chief guest and personally received land-related grievance applications from farmers. He explained that similar conferences are being conducted across 28 districts in the state to resolve land issues efficiently.
Collector Santosh emphasized that, unlike in the past where people had to visit the Tahsildar, RDO, or Collector's offices for such issues, officials are now directly visiting the villages to collect and address grievances. He assured that the received applications would be carefully reviewed, verified, and eligible applicants would be issued appropriate orders.
Importantly, while application submission through Mee Seva centers typically involves a fee, all applications submitted at these revenue conferences are accepted completely free of cost. He urged all farmers to take full advantage of this opportunity. Officials will be available in the village from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and special help centers have been set up to assist with form filling and any related queries.
The Collector further assured that all applications will be thoroughly verified, and efforts will be made to resolve the issues within one month.
The event was also attended by Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Itikyala Tahsildar Veerabhadrappa, Erravalli Tahsildar Naresh, MPDO Azhar Mohinuddin, local farmers, and other officials.

District-Level Training Held for Water Resources Census: Emphasis on Accurate, Paperless Data Collection
Gadwal: Chief Planning Officer Yoganand emphasized that precise and unbiased data collection is essential for effective government policy-making. He instructed officials to ensure that every detail is recorded comprehensively and impartially. Speaking at the district-level training program held on Saturday at the IDOC Video Conference Hall, Yoganand addressed officials as part of the 7th Minor Water Resources Census and the 2nd Water Bodies Census for the agricultural year 2023–2024. He highlighted the importance of these censuses, stating that collecting detailed information on groundwater sources, surface water bodies, ponds, tanks, check dams, dug wells, and other minor irrigation sources in villages would provide a holistic perspective on rural water security. The 2023–24 census stands out for a significant advancement—for the first time, data will be recorded through a 'Mobile App'-based, paperless system, using LGD (Local Government Directory) codes for every village. Yoganand further informed that the census of dug wells will be conducted with the assistance of the Groundwater Department, while the enumeration of medium and major irrigation sources will be carried out under the supervision of the Irrigation Department. Detailed training was provided on schedule filling procedures, technical guidelines, data accuracy, and timely reporting to ensure a smooth enumeration process. Officials from the District Irrigation Department and Groundwater Department attended the program and shared key instructions and suggestions. They emphasized that the training sessions were designed to give clear understanding and guidance to all participants involved in the census. The Chief Planning Officer and associated officials called on all staff to ensure that the data collected meets the quality and accuracy expected by the government. Participants of the training included planning and statistical officers from all mandals, sub-statistical officers, and other relevant field functionaries. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in understanding local water resources and contribute meaningfully to water security and sustainable irrigation planning across rural Telangana.

Ryots protest against second phase land pooling in Andhra
GUNTUR: Tension flared in Ponnekallu village of Tadikonda mandal on Saturday when a group of villagers staged a protest during a Grama Sabha. It may be recalled that the State government has commenced the second phase of land pooling for Amaravati's development, and the Grama Sabhas are being held in Tadikonda mandal to gather farmers' views. The meeting, attended by Tadikonda MLA Sravan Kumar and officials, was disrupted by protestors who raised slogans such as 'Go back,' opposing the proposed land acquisition and alleging a lack of transparency. The meeting was halted. Guntur RDO K Srinivasa Rao told TNIE that a few farmers disrupted the session with 'ulterior motives'. However, he said that Grama Sabhas in nearby villages such as Nekkallu and Tadikapadu were conducted peacefully, with most farmers agreeing to part with their land. Grama Sabhas were completed in the other nine villages of the mandal. While supporting the land pooling initiative, many farmers raised concerns regarding loan waivers on pledged lands, an increase in annual lease payments, and a 15-year lease period, similar to what was offered during the first phase. MLA Sravan Kumar assured the farmers that their concerns would be brought to the Chief Minister's attention and that suitable steps would be taken after due consideration.
