Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde said his party welcomes the NIA court judgement acquitting all the seven accused, including Thakur and Purohit.
"We are very happy with the order. It was the sinister design of the Congress party which trapped them and also coined the word 'Hindu terror' to fulfill their agenda. They have been exposed," Hegde claimed.
Hegde said Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Parliament that no Hindu can be a terrorist and it has been proved right.
Maharashtra Water Resources Minister and BJP leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil hailed the verdict and said Hindutva was labelled as "terrorist" and sentiments were hurt.
There was an attempt to hurt spiritualism, he claimed.

Manipur: NIA arrests suspect in Jiribam kidnapping, killing of women and children
IANS In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key conspirator in last year's killing case in Manipur's Jiribam district, the central probe agency said on Thursday. Guwahati: A suspect in the kidnapping and killing of three women and three children from the Meitei community in Manipur's Jiribam in November 2024 has been arrested. He was arrested by NIA and Assam police. An Assam police official said that the arrested person is identified as Thanglienlal Hmar alias Boya. He was arrested based on information provided by the NIA. Recently the Manipur High Court has directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file a chargesheet within one month in connection with the Jiribam killings of November 2024 that claimed 3 women and 3 order came after the central agency submitted two sealed progress reports detailing its ongoing investigation.A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice K. Somashekar and Justice Ahanthem Bimol Singh issued the directive while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Uripok Apunba Lup, a civil society organisation, which has been seeking judicial oversight of the case. The Centre's counsel placed before the court two sets of sealed covered envelopes, containing a detailed progress report on the investigation. 'Keeping in view the status in this matter, one month's time is granted for submitting the detailed report in terms of charge sheet under Section 173 of CrPC and corresponding provision of BNSS Act, 2023,' the High Court court had earlier stated, 'It is made clear that if there is no progress made, the matter would be viewed seriously,' it court had earlier expressed concern over the apparent lack of progress in the investigation. Referring to the November 11, 2024, incident, the bench said, "An FIR was registered on the same day by the competent authority. However, to date, no progress report has been submitted by the investigating agency under the provisions of Section 167 of the CrPC, and no chargesheet has been filed."The court had stated, "It has been more than seven months since the incident occurred. If the chargesheet is not filed, the matter should be viewed seriously."Three Meitei women and three children, including a 10-month-old infant, were abducted on November 11 last year from Borobekra area in Jiribam district. Their bullet-riddled bodies were later recovered from Barak River along Manipur-Assam border on November November 26, 2024, NIA in a statement had stated acting swiftly on the Union Ministry of Home Affairs directions to bring the culprits to book expeditiously, NIA has launched thorough investigations into three major cases relating to the recent spate of violence in anti-terror agency re-registered three cases afresh on 13th November 2024, after the MHA decided to hand over the investigations to NIA considering the gravity of the offences, amid escalating violence in the strife-torn state and with a view to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the brutal attacks. In the first case (FIR No. 29(11) Borobekra PS, dated 11th November 2024), several houses were burnt, and two civilians were killed at Borobekra. Later unknown militants had also abducted and murdered 6 persons including 3 women and 3 children.

Chowta for stronger counter-terror steps, permanent NIA office in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Wednesday to express gratitude for the Centre's decision to hand over the Suhas Shetty murder case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He described the move as a reflection of the government's commitment to justice and national security. Speaking on behalf of Shetty's family and the people of Dakshina Kannada, Chowta lauded the swift intervention by the Ministry of Home Affairs, calling it a reassurance to law-abiding citizens and a deterrent to extremist elements. Raising serious concerns about the coastal region's vulnerability to radicalisation, drug trafficking, and organised crime, Captain Chowta highlighted the increasing footprint of extremist networks and cited the recent MDMA drug seizure in Mangaluru—the largest in Karnataka's history—as an example of the threats confronting the district. He urged the Minister to consider establishing a permanent, fully equipped NIA office in Mangaluru for better intelligence coordination and rapid response capabilities. 'Dakshina Kannada is a sentinel of India's cultural and national identity. We must not allow violence, narcotics, or ideological subversion to destabilise the region,' Chowta said. He invoked the transformation of Gujarat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the early 2000s, expressing hope that a similar model of integrated security and governance could be replicated in Dakshina Kannada.

‘Big drama': BJP on Rahul Gandhi's protest plan
Bengaluru: Calling the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi's plan for protest against alleged election fraud in Bengaluru a 'big drama', the Karnataka BJP said on Thursday that the Congress introduced irregularities in elections, asserting that such a party cannot make allegations about election irregularities. Karnataka Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka claimed that it was proven in court that former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi herself committed election irregularities. 'Rahul Gandhi's visit to Karnataka on August 5 is a big drama. There is no government functioning here. Instead, there is a fight for the Chief Minister's chair. To cover that up, the issue of election irregularities is being raised,' he claimed. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced that a protest against alleged voter fraud will be held under the leadership of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on August 5. Ashoka said that allegations were being made so many years after the election, without going to court when they happened, adding that this was being done to cover up zero development in Karnataka. 'If there was evidence, they would have gone to the court. Since there is no evidence, they are taking to the streets and protesting. When the Lok Sabha elections were held in the state, Congress was in power. They should specify which official did this,' he said. On the honey trap, Karnataka LoP said that the case created a ruckus in the Assembly, and the government had given a report saying that this incident never happened. 'The Minister's words have no value. Whatever a Minister says becomes the government's statement. Such statements have been put into a washing machine and cleaned. It is not known whose pressure is on the police. This government is covering up irregularities,' he said. Ashoka further stated that the drug mafia had grown in Mysuru, the native of CM Siddaramaiah. 'The Home Department is not taking any action. As a result of all this, such a drug peddling network had come to light. Maharashtra police coming here and making arrests is an insult to our police department,' he said. On fertiliser crisis claims, Ashoka asked, "How much fertiliser has come to the state every month? How much stock is there? How much has been allocated to which district? The state government should provide information. Instead of delivering the stocked fertiliser to farmers, the government has handed it over to middlemen." On the Malegaon blast case, Karnataka LoP said that the Congress government imposed the case on Hindus and coined the term Hindu terrorism. 'By portraying Hindus as terrorists to appease Muslims, Congress has faced embarrassment,' claimed Ashoka.
