Another EastEnders couple ripped apart as wicked Cindy causes more trouble

Metro9 hours ago
Wicked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) wreaks further havoc on her son Peter Beale's (Thomas Law) relationship with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) in EastEnders next week.
The couple have had their ups and downs in recent months, having been torn apart as they processed their newborn son Jimmy's sight impairment in very different ways.
Amid their turmoil, Lauren kissed former flameZack Hudson (James Farrar), who himself had been through the emotional wringer thanks to his feud with the Mitchells over son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).
So far, their clinch has remained a secret. Enter Cindy.
Next week, sinful Cindy gets a hunch that something is going on between arch enemy Lauren and Zack – and wastes no time in using it to her advantage.
It comes as Lauren and Peter start to get closer again, as she turns to him for reassurances about Jimmy's diagnosis.
Lauren later finds Peter taking a guitar lesson from Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) after finding out that his playing helped soothe Jimmy.
Jay gives Peter some food for thought when he advises him to stop looking back and move on with Lauren and their children.
Meanwhile, Cindy spots Lauren and Zack sharing a hug, and goes to ex Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) with her suspicions that they are having an affair.
As Lauren and Peter enjoy a family picnic together in the Square gardens, they bond as they tell their other son Louie about Jimmy's blindness.
However, Cindy soon arrives and makes a huge accusation, which eventually forces Lauren to admit that she kissed Zack.
Things are tense the following day when Lauren and Peter receive a set of results about Jimmy's blindness that confirms it has been caused by a genetic mutation, not Lauren's opioid addiction. More Trending
As they take the news in, a row breaks out – and with tempers flared, Peter later takes his anger out on Zack and hits him.
But Lauren and Peter soon have much bigger things to worry about when they return home and find that Louie and Jimmy are both missing.
What has happened to the young brothers?

Scots trial fears over filming of court cases for true-crime documentaries

The Murder Trial and Murder Case series feature in the Top 10 most requested titles of 2025 on the broadcaster's iPlayer with over three million views. Real-life- crime documentaries which allow cameras into Scots courts have been among BBC Scotland's biggest hits despite fears they could disrupt criminal trials. The Murder Trial and Murder Case series feature in the Top 10 most requested titles of 2025 on the broadcaster's iPlayer with over three million views. ‌ The latest viewing figures come after the broadcaster last week announced Murder Case is set to return later this year with a new three-part series focussing on two cases. ‌ Two 60-minute episodes will concentrate on the murder of Tony Parsons – The Vanishing Cyclist – who was killed by a drunk driver on the A82 near Bridge of Orchy and secretly buried in a shallow grave. Sandy McKellar and twin Robert hid Tony's body on a remote estate in the Highlands where it remained undiscovered for three years until Sandy confided in his new girlfriend Caroline Muirhead about the killing and took her to the burial site. She was able to pinpoint the remote location to the police by dropping a soft drink can on the ground. However, two years ago we revealed Muirhead fled court over the pressure of appearing in the documentary. She was arrested after failing to turn up to court for the twins' trial. ‌ At the time, she said the demands to take part in the BBC-commissioned programme on the case led her to have a mental breakdown. Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay wrote to the BBC to raise concerns with its production company Firecrest Films. ‌ He said: 'Ms Muirhead has said she was subjected to inappropriate pressure to nagree for her testimony to be broadcast. 'She further claims that she felt unable to testify due to this pressure and that this, in turn, may have caused the Crown Office to strike a plea deal with the two men accused of murder, instead of putting them on trial, resulting in a downgrading of the charges, which they admitted to.' The real-life crime format has attracted huge audiences. ‌ A spokeswoman said: ' Crime documentaries continue to be really popular with audiences in Scotland and across the UK, consistently performing well on BBC iPlayer. 'The Murder Trial and Murder Case series feature in the Top 10 'most requested' titles of 2025 on BBC iPlayer with a combined audience of nearly three million streaming requests. 'This year, the top three 'most viewed' BBC crime documentaries have been Murder Trial: Girl in the River, Murder Trial: Body in the Warehouse and Murder Case: The Hunt for Mary McLaughlin's Killer.'

Maisie Smith lifts the lid on marriage plans with boyfriend Max George... but her mum insists she's 'too young' to wed just yet

Ex-EastEnders star Maisie Smith has lifted the lid on her plans to marry boyfriend Max George as her mum insisted that she is 'too young' right now. The 23-year-old actress has been dating former The Wanted star since 2022, and their relationship has gone from strength-to-strength. Maisie and Max, who have a 13-year age gap, live together in Manchester - but it seems the pair are in no rush to take their romance to the next level just yet. Max, 36, recently underwent life-saving heart surgery, where he had a pacemaker fitted. Despite the huge operation, Maisie has admitted they are keen to just take things slowly. She told The Sun on Sunday: 'I'm still a baby! 'We have so much time - we have got the whole world, a whole life. 'Now Max is getting better and stronger and fitter. And we are ready to start an exciting next chapter of our time together.' Maisie revealed that the op has made the couple realise that they both want to be more impulsive, have fun, travel the world, see new things and to make friends. She explained how they are in the mindset of enjoying right now and making the most of every minute. In December, Max was fitted with a pacemaker after his mum Babs realised he had 'turned blue' and pushed for him to go to A&E. He feared he would die, so at the time wrote out a will in his phone. Max, who has been sober for over four years after previous liver issues, reflected on his journey after the op. The Wanted singer explained that alcohol wasn't a factor in his condition, saying he gave up drinking after doctors flagged concerns about his liver following years of heavy partying on tour. The Glad You Came hitmaker noted it is all a 'mystery' what has happened to him, although doctors have been able to eliminate some possible causes. The loved-up duo have been inseparable since going official in August 2022 and also living together. In an Instagram post, Max shared some adorable snaps of him and his partner cuddled up on the sofa. Max captioned the trio of photos simply with: 'It's so good to be home'.
