The new deep-dive into the the 1993 'Showcase of the Immortals,' WrestleMania IX: Becoming a Spectacle, by far one of the best wrestling documentaries on Peacock , reexamines one of the biggest behind-the-scenes mysteries of the event, and wrestling in general. And while Hogan has a highly detailed story about how he got his infamous shiner, other wrestlers are very skeptical, to say the least.

What Hulk Hogan Says About The Infamous Black Eye In WrestleMania IX: Becoming A Spectacle
Though WrestleMania IX: Becoming A Spectacle spends a large portion of its nearly two-hour runtime breaking down how the 1993 event was a game-changer for the company and helped usher in a new era, it doesn't shy away from covering two of the biggest controversies from the pay-per-view: Hulk Hogan showing up with a black eye and the former top babyface being randomly inserted into the main event for the WWE Championship. Let's just focus on the former for now.

In the documentary, Hogan denies the long-believed story that the black eye and stitches were the result of a nasty hook from former friend-turned-rival 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Instead, Hogan tells a story about being in a jet ski accident two days before the Las Vegas event that involved him being hit in the face by the watercraft's handlebar. If I'm being honest, his recollection of the accident has way too many details and comes off as rehearsed. And I'm not alone…

Bret Hart Rips Hogan As 'Such A Liar,' And Other Wrestlers Seem To Agree
Ahead of the documentary's release, Bret Hart, who never minces words when it comes to his relationship with Hulk Hogan, sat down for an interview with TMZ where he wasted no time in calling out his former colleague and ripping him for lying, saying:
Hulk Hogan's always been such a liar. Whatever he tells you is probably not true. Macho Man, I'd go by his account of things. Macho Man was a much more reliable guy that spoke the truth.

And Hart, who will become the first three-time inductee at the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony ahead of the two-night WrestleMania 41 , isn't alone in not believing Hogan's story about the black eye being caused by a jet ski accident. In WrestleMania IX: Becoming a Spectacle, other wrestlers come off as being skeptical about the situation.
At one point, the Undertaker says that it was well-known that Hogan and Savage didn't get along, and that the Hulkster should have 'bobbed instead of weaved on that,' alluding to a fight. Moments later, Scott Steiner explains that while he didn't see a fight between the two, he has long believed Savage's story about the rumored altercation.
We may never really know what happened back in 1993, as 'Macho Man' Randy Savage passed away more than a decade ago, and Hulk Hogan is sticking to his story.

Burning Questions Fans Want Answered at the Love Island USA Season 7 Reunion
Source: Courtesy / Peacock After a season full of shocking recouplings, social media controversies, and one of the most chaotic Casa Amor twists yet, viewers are dying to know what really went down behind the scenes and where the couples stand now. From messy breakups to undercover secrets, unanswered questions have kept Reddit and X threads alive all summer. The reunion is set for August 25 at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT on Peacock and hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen. Fans are hoping for some clarity, drama, and maybe even a few surprises. Will some Islanders finally come clean on their true feelings? Will fan-favorite couples survive the spotlight? And will the most talked-about contestants even show up? Here are the biggest questions fans are hoping get answered when everyone's back under one roof: Did Chris throw the finale on purpose? Chris seemed completely checked out during the finale — and even dumped Huda at the very last minute. Was he trying to avoid the spotlight, or just avoid splitting the prize money? Their split didn't exactly shock fans (many were surprised they even made it to the top three), but what actually triggered the breakup? Both have given vague post‑Villa interviews, but viewers still aren't buying the story. Nicolandria: genuine love or a production play? Nic and Olandria have been inseparable since the Villa, at least online. But are they actually in love — or just playing along for the cameras and brand deals? Fans also want to know: what were Cierra's real feelings about their connection, especially since Movie Night (where receipts usually get aired) was skipped this year. Why was Movie Night skipped, and what really happened during the Heart Rate Challenge? Producers confirmed the fan‑favorite Movie Night segment was cut, but why? Were there clips that would've blown up too many relationships? And fans still want to see the uncut version of the Heart Rate Challenge, which sparked tension but clearly left out some big reactions. What really went down during the Stand On Business challenge? We all know the cameras don't show everything, and this challenge clearly rattled the Villa. What big arguments, shady answers, or walkouts got cut from the final edit? And who actually broke down once the cameras turned away? Did Nic actually have feelings for Cierra, or was he just playing it safe? Before Cierra's controversial exit over her resurfaced racist posts, she and Nic abruptly called it quits. But was Nic's connection with her ever real — or was he keeping her close just to stay in the game? Fans want him to finally tell the truth. Just how toxic did the Villa get during the Huda‑Jeremiah fallout? That fallout divided the Villa, with some Islanders saving Huda while others clearly regretted it. Does anyone now wish they'd handled it differently? And who still stands by their decision to back her? Did Taylor ever admit his true feelings for Olandria inside the villa, or just vent to the boys? Taylor's subtle flirting with Olandria didn't go unnoticed by viewers. But did he ever come clean to her about how he felt — or was he content keeping it between the boys and hoping no one else caught on? 5 Things I Have To Get Off My Chest About Season 7 Of ‘Love Island'
Source: Peacock / Peacock When it comes to reality TV shows, I don't play about mine. I usually keep to the drama of the Real Housewives but I found my way to the Love Island corner of the reality sphere a few years ago. Last season, Serena and Kordell gave me hope for Black love. We finally felt seen and valued on these types of shows. So, like many, I was ready for season 7 of Love Island USA. I was ready to see the tea in Soul Ties, the chats, the girl gang, romances, and real love. What I got instead was a mixed bag of an overproduced mess. A jumbled narrative that felt more like a choreographed reality show than the spontaneous blossoming of love and drama I'd come to expect. The raw, unfiltered moments that once defined the show turned into manufactured tension and predictable plotlines. With that said, please find 5 things I need to get off my chest about this season. It's infuriating to watch Black women on Love Island consistently painted as 'mean girls' or 'aggressive' simply for asserting themselves, setting boundaries, or expressing their true feelings. When a non-Black woman does the exact same thing, she's celebrated as strong, confident, or a 'boss babe.' This double standard is unfair. It is a deeply rooted microaggression highlighting broader societal biases. Black women are constantly policed for their tone, their emotions, and their reactions. Even when we are simply standing up for ourselves or holding others accountable. It's time for the show and viewers to dismantle these harmful tropes. A Black woman setting her standards and refusing to be disrespected is a sign of self-worth, not a character flaw. The lack of accountability for the male islanders on Love Island is a glaring issue season after season. The men are given a free pass for manipulative behavior, gaslighting, emotional unavailability, and general disrespect towards the women. The women are constantly scrutinized for their choices, their 'journeys,' and their perceived flaws. The men often face little to no genuine pressure or consequences for their actions. This creates an imbalanced dynamic where women are expected to tolerate poor behavior and consistently work to understand or 'fix' the men. Rather than the men being held responsible for their own actions and growth. The show needs to do a better job of highlighting and challenging male toxicity, rather than consistently overlooking it. The decision to remove Islanders for using racial slurs is a necessary step. But the show's handling of it still fell short. The lack of transparency and refusal to explicitly name the racist behavior feels like a passive-aggressive attempt to address a serious issue without truly confronting it. When these instances are vaguely referenced or swept under the rug, it not only diminishes the impact of the racist actions but also fails to properly educate viewers. Furthermore, this disingenuous approach is compounded by the fact that Black women on the show consistently face a barrage of racist abuse from internet trolls outside the villa. The show's failure to unequivocally condemn racism, both on and off-screen, sends a dangerous message that it is more concerned with optics than genuinely protecting its contestants and fostering an inclusive environment. It is baffling how little research is done on the Islanders before they enter the villa. Time and again, contestants come in with problematic social media histories, past controversial statements. Not to mention a clear pattern of behavior that suggests they might not be suitable for a show centered on healthy relationships and emotional maturity. This lack of vetting raises serious questions about the casting process. Is the show prioritizing drama over the well-being of its contestants and the integrity of the 'love' experiment? A more thorough background check and a deeper understanding of potential Islanders' pasts could prevent many of the uncomfortable and damaging situations. Source: Peacock / Peacock *in the narrator's voice* A mid size or plus-size bombshell has never entered the villa — why is that? There's a pressing issue that demands our scrutiny: the glaring body exclusivity prevalent across these platforms. It's time to ask: is it truly a prerequisite in 2025 that folks must be a size 4 or under? This narrow representation fails to reflect the beautiful diversity of body types in the real world. It also perpetuates harmful ideals of beauty. Reality television consistently showcases only a specific physique. It sends a clear message that only certain bodies are desirable, worthy of love, and deserving of screen time. This can have detrimental effects on viewers' self-esteem, fostering unrealistic expectations and body image issues. The absence of diverse body shapes contributes to an exclusive culture. Larger bodies get erased and marginalized. It reinforces a narrow and unattainable standard of beauty. True inclusivity means embracing a spectrum of body types, just as it means embracing diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. Until then, these 'love' islands will continue to project a distorted and exclusive version of reality, rather than the true and varied landscape of human attraction and affection. WWE Raw Results, Winners And Grades On July 21, 2025
Roman Reigns confronts Paul Heyman on WWE Raw WWE Raw advertised Roman Reigns confronting Paul Heyman, Lyra valkyria and Bayley vs. the Judgment Day for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, CM Punk confronting Gunther and Becky Lynch calling out Lyra Valkyria. WWE Raw Results On July 21, 2025 WWE Raw Ticket Sales WWE Raw Highlights, Winners And Grades CM Punk Faces Off With Gunther CM Punk basked in the cheers from the Toyota Center. He put Gunther over as 'One of the best in the world,' and admitted he didn't know if he could beat Gunther. Gunther interrupted and basked in the heat of the Toyota Center, which chanted 'You tapped out!' and 'CM Punk!' before he said a word. Gunther cut a short-but-sweet promo, calling Punk's fans degenerates and vowing to retain at SummerSlam. Sheamus Def. Rusev The announce team really played up how Sheamus has never beaten Rusev in singles action. Given the fact that these two were running it back, there's almost no way Sheamus won't win. Fans still aren't into Rusev as much as they once were, but this match was well received by a red-hot, sold-out crowd in Houston. Rusev tried to use a Shillelagh, but it backfired and Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick for his first win over Rusev. LWO Def. The New Day And American Alpha Xavier Woods debuted a change in gear as he is now wearing trunks. Still mourning from their Tag Team Title loss, Corey Graves noted the New Day deserved bereavement leave. LWO immediately dazzled upon tagging in with a double-team springboard move. Fans chanted 'New Day Sucks' as soon as they doused LWO's flame. Joaquin Wilde went…crazy during his comeback, including a unique double-pin on the New Day for a nearfall. The LWO aren't the most popular tag team (not even close, unfortunately), but whenever given the chance they get over like crazy. After outside interference from Ivy Nile and Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano got involved and attacked Dragon Lee. Wilde fought out of New Day's finisher and rolled up Kingston for the win. Backstage, Grayson Waller gleefully broke the news to the New Day about Austin Theory's injury. This is the blowoff to almost a year-long tease that the two were going to split. Becky Lynch Calls Out Lyra Valkyria; Judgment Day Def. Bayley And Lyra Valkyria Backstage, Lyra Valkyria was furious that Bayley sandbagged her by forcing her into a Tag Team Title match behind her back. Lyra was focused on her IC Title match against Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, and Lyra doesn't trust Bayley. Bayley was acting heelish, but when Lyra told Bayley 'I beat your ass last week,' fans turned on Valkyria. Becky Lynch did a much better job getting heat from this crowd from the moment she spoke. Lynch was once again dressed in red and yellow, further leaning into the internet Hulk Hogan comparisons. Becky Lynch proposed that if she beats Lyra Valkyria, Lyra will never be able to challenge Lynch for the women's IC Title again. I have a feeling Bayley will cost Lyra the women's IC Title. Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez's new entrance is very similar to the Gunns. Fans decided they liked Dirty Dom Mysterio, chanting 'Dirty Dom!' at the beginning of the match. Bayley went for an aggressive tag on Lyra before taking the gas off and lightly tagging her in. Bayley quickly tagged herself back in as fans chanted 'Dirty Dom!' Raquel Rodriguez accidentally kicked Dirty Dom and took a basement kick from Valkyria for her troubles. Medical personnel checked on Dirty Dom, but one of the doctors turned out to be Dr. AJ. Enter Becky Lynch, who dragged Lyra off the apron. With nobody to tag, Bayley took a Tejana Bomb after Raquel made a blind tag. Karrion Kross Def. Sami Zayn There were dueling chants of 'Let's go Sami/Let's go Kross!' Sami Zayn hit an Arabian Press to the outside, but that's when he really started selling his ribs. Scarlett created a diversion, and Karrion Kross used a steel pipe on Sami's ribs. A bloodied Kross picked up his biggest win of 2025. Backstage, Dirty Dom announced he was cleared after attacking AJ Styles from behind. Iyo Sky Vs. Stephanie Vaquer Ends In A DQ Fans went crazy during a backstage segment between Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer where this match was made official. They went even crazier for Houston legend Mattress Mack. Vaquer and Sky exchanged high-risk moves in the first half before Raw went to break. Just when it seemed Iyo was breaking away with her offense, Stephanie Vaquer answered with a flurry of her own. This was a true back-and-forth match. Iyo went for a sunset flip out of the ring, but Vaquer stopped it, kneed her in the throat and hit back-to-back pairs of the Devil's Kiss. Fans still chanted 'One more time!' There was a 'Holy s—t!' chant after a reverse superplex. Just in time for Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice to interfere, causing another non=finish between Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky. As Vaquer and Sky stood tall, Naomi shoved Iyo into Vaquer, then Rhea Ripley hit the ring and cleaned house. Roman Reigns Calls Out Paul Heyman Paul Heyman (flanked by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker) said that before Roman Reigns comes out, he had a lot to get off his chest. This brought out Roman Reigns immediately. Paul Heyman said Seth Rollins is going to be out of action for 'A long, long time.' I don't buy it. Heyman offered Reigns a spot in his new stable. Fans chanted 'You sold out!' and 'Shut the F up!' as Heyman tried to make his case. Roman Reigns told Breakker and Reed to 'Sit under the learning tree,' before warning them that Heyman was going to inevitably turn on them. Reigns called the Bloodline 'God's work,' and gave credit to the Usos, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn for creating the Bloodline. Reigns derided Heyman for betraying him and his family for his 'Best friend' CM Punk. After calling Heyman a 'dumbass time and again," Houston serenaded Heyman with chants of 'You're a dumbass.' Born Breakker said Reigns was worthless, he was the Old Dog and Bron is the Big Dog now. Reigns attacked Heyman's new family before taking a Spear from Breakker. Jey Uso made the savae to a huge pop as Roman and Jey ended the night with a double Spear.
