CM Punk Faces Off With Gunther
CM Punk basked in the cheers from the Toyota Center. He put Gunther over as 'One of the best in the world,' and admitted he didn't know if he could beat Gunther.
Gunther interrupted and basked in the heat of the Toyota Center, which chanted 'You tapped out!' and 'CM Punk!' before he said a word.
Gunther cut a short-but-sweet promo, calling Punk's fans degenerates and vowing to retain at SummerSlam.
Sheamus Def. Rusev
The announce team really played up how Sheamus has never beaten Rusev in singles action. Given the fact that these two were running it back, there's almost no way Sheamus won't win.
Fans still aren't into Rusev as much as they once were, but this match was well received by a red-hot, sold-out crowd in Houston.
Rusev tried to use a Shillelagh, but it backfired and Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick for his first win over Rusev.
LWO Def. The New Day And American Alpha
Xavier Woods debuted a change in gear as he is now wearing trunks. Still mourning from their Tag Team Title loss, Corey Graves noted the New Day deserved bereavement leave.
LWO immediately dazzled upon tagging in with a double-team springboard move. Fans chanted 'New Day Sucks' as soon as they doused LWO's flame.
Joaquin Wilde went…crazy during his comeback, including a unique double-pin on the New Day for a nearfall. The LWO aren't the most popular tag team (not even close, unfortunately), but whenever given the chance they get over like crazy.
After outside interference from Ivy Nile and Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano got involved and attacked Dragon Lee.
Wilde fought out of New Day's finisher and rolled up Kingston for the win.
Backstage, Grayson Waller gleefully broke the news to the New Day about Austin Theory's injury. This is the blowoff to almost a year-long tease that the two were going to split.
Becky Lynch Calls Out Lyra Valkyria; Judgment Day Def. Bayley And Lyra Valkyria
Backstage, Lyra Valkyria was furious that Bayley sandbagged her by forcing her into a Tag Team Title match behind her back. Lyra was focused on her IC Title match against Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, and Lyra doesn't trust Bayley. Bayley was acting heelish, but when Lyra told Bayley 'I beat your ass last week,' fans turned on Valkyria.
Becky Lynch did a much better job getting heat from this crowd from the moment she spoke. Lynch was once again dressed in red and yellow, further leaning into the internet Hulk Hogan comparisons.
Becky Lynch proposed that if she beats Lyra Valkyria, Lyra will never be able to challenge Lynch for the women's IC Title again. I have a feeling Bayley will cost Lyra the women's IC Title.
Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez's new entrance is very similar to the Gunns.
Fans decided they liked Dirty Dom Mysterio, chanting 'Dirty Dom!' at the beginning of the match.
Bayley went for an aggressive tag on Lyra before taking the gas off and lightly tagging her in. Bayley quickly tagged herself back in as fans chanted 'Dirty Dom!'
Raquel Rodriguez accidentally kicked Dirty Dom and took a basement kick from Valkyria for her troubles. Medical personnel checked on Dirty Dom, but one of the doctors turned out to be Dr. AJ. Enter Becky Lynch, who dragged Lyra off the apron. With nobody to tag, Bayley took a Tejana Bomb after Raquel made a blind tag.
Karrion Kross Def. Sami Zayn
There were dueling chants of 'Let's go Sami/Let's go Kross!'
Sami Zayn hit an Arabian Press to the outside, but that's when he really started selling his ribs.
Scarlett created a diversion, and Karrion Kross used a steel pipe on Sami's ribs. A bloodied Kross picked up his biggest win of 2025.
Backstage, Dirty Dom announced he was cleared after attacking AJ Styles from behind.
Iyo Sky Vs. Stephanie Vaquer Ends In A DQ
Fans went crazy during a backstage segment between Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer where this match was made official. They went even crazier for Houston legend Mattress Mack.
Vaquer and Sky exchanged high-risk moves in the first half before Raw went to break.
Just when it seemed Iyo was breaking away with her offense, Stephanie Vaquer answered with a flurry of her own. This was a true back-and-forth match.
Iyo went for a sunset flip out of the ring, but Vaquer stopped it, kneed her in the throat and hit back-to-back pairs of the Devil's Kiss. Fans still chanted 'One more time!'
There was a 'Holy s—t!' chant after a reverse superplex. Just in time for Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice to interfere, causing another non=finish between Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky.
As Vaquer and Sky stood tall, Naomi shoved Iyo into Vaquer, then Rhea Ripley hit the ring and cleaned house.
Roman Reigns Calls Out Paul Heyman
Paul Heyman (flanked by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker) said that before Roman Reigns comes out, he had a lot to get off his chest. This brought out Roman Reigns immediately.
Paul Heyman said Seth Rollins is going to be out of action for 'A long, long time.' I don't buy it. Heyman offered Reigns a spot in his new stable.
Fans chanted 'You sold out!' and 'Shut the F up!' as Heyman tried to make his case.
Roman Reigns told Breakker and Reed to 'Sit under the learning tree,' before warning them that Heyman was going to inevitably turn on them.
Reigns called the Bloodline 'God's work,' and gave credit to the Usos, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn for creating the Bloodline.
Reigns derided Heyman for betraying him and his family for his 'Best friend' CM Punk. After calling Heyman a 'dumbass time and again," Houston serenaded Heyman with chants of 'You're a dumbass.'
Born Breakker said Reigns was worthless, he was the Old Dog and Bron is the Big Dog now. Reigns attacked Heyman's new family before taking a Spear from Breakker. Jey Uso made the savae to a huge pop as Roman and Jey ended the night with a double Spear.

'Tron: Ares' brings the Grid, light cycles and Nine Inch Nails soundtrack, to Comic-Con
SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Grid took over Comic-Con on Friday, bringing the stars of the new 'Tron: Ares' films to unveil footage and reveal the story behind the franchise's third movie. The film stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith as the story brings the virtual environment of the Grid, complete with light cylces, into the real world. Disney showed off several minutes of footage, including a light cycle chase scene in the real world and another in the red-hued Grid. Propelling the onscreen action is a propulsive Nine Inch Nails soundtrack. 'It's fun to see it on the big screen for the first time,' said director Joachim Rønning. Disney turned the Hall H panel into a spectacle, with red lasers filling the room and characters in suits with red lights entering the massive hall. Asked what excited her about joining the 'Tron' franchise, Lee responded: 'I just wanted to ride a light cycle.' Leto spoke affectionately about the original saying: 'This movie just grabbed a hold of me and took me to a place that I'd never been before. It kind of rattled my imagination and it kind of showed me what was possible in the world.' He praised Bridges and Steven Lisberger, who created 'Tron' and directed the 1982 original. Lisberger attended Friday's panel and laid out his case for why the franchise remains relevant. 'My feeling about 'Tron' is that the most important thing is we kick this technology around artistically before it kicks us around,' Lisberger said. 'I am weary about hearing all the grim news about the future,' he said, and the way he thinks it can be avoided is to 'inspire young people what can be done with this technology.' Friday's panel ended with the premiere of the music video for "As Alive as You Need Me to Be," the first Nine Inch Nails song from the soundtrack. 'Tron' has never been in the top tier of sci-fi franchises. The original 1982 film starring Bridges as Kevin Flynn, a man sucked into a computer vortex known as the Grid, was admired for its ground-breaking concept and effects, and was a modest hit with moderately good reviews. Perhaps more importantly, it won a cult following and has been maintained enough in cultural memory to remain a valuable property for Disney. The 2010 film 'Tron: Legacy,' starring Bridges and Garrett Hedlund, made more than $400 million globally. A TV show that followed, 'Tron: Uprising,' lasted just one season. Rønning has helmed other Disney franchise films: 2017's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' and 2019's 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.' The Norweigan director said he was interested because he dreamed about making a sci-fi film and enjoyed the twist of 'Ares' bringing the Grid into the real world. Leto and Bridges are both Oscar winners, and Rønning is an Oscar nominee. ___ AP Entertainment Writer Andrew Dalton contributed to this report. Solve the daily Crossword

Justin Bieber Talks Hailey Bieber Marriage, Paparazzi Outbursts on 'Swag' Album
Justin Bieber just dropped his 7th studio album "Swag" ... and it may be his most personal yet as he gives fans a peek into his relationship ups and downs with Hailey Bieber and addresses his recent outbursts with paparazzi. The most obvious example comes with his candid track "Walking Away," in which he croons about a rough patch in a relationship he refuses to leave. He sings ... "Girl, we better stop before we say some sh*t / We've been testing our patience / I think we better off if we just take a break." He doubles down on his commitment, adding ... "Baby, I ain't walking away / You were my diamond / Gave you a ring / I made you a promise / I told you, 'I'd change' / It's just human nature / These growing pains / And baby, I ain't walking away." In the catchy tune "Go Baby," JB reminds people he's Hailey's number one fan through thick and thin, even touting her successful Rhode brand and her new phone case that holds lip gloss, singing, "That's my baby, she's iconic / iPhone case, lip gloss on it." ICYMI ... Justin recently praised the phone case design on social media and admitted to wanting to make a similar case -- but to hold his blunts. Problem is that Hailey patented the design, so he asked her to approve his idea to avoid paying her a fee. He gets more serious in "Go Baby" ... telling Hailey she can count on him even on her rainy days with lyrics like ... "Cry on my shoulder ... you better believe I can hold all the weight." Despite all the concern about Justin and Hailey's relationship ... he seems to confirm they're in it for the long haul. Remember -- in our documentary, "TMZ Investigates: What Happened to Justin Bieber?" we unpacked the struggles Justin and Hailey have faced as a couple. The 2-time Grammy winner also addresses his struggles with being in the public eye -- and his recent issues with eager paparazzi. In "Therapy Session," comedian Druski reacts to the rampant concern about Justin's behavior on social media, arguing ... "He's enjoying social media like the rest of us, he's just doing it his own way." Bieber holds nothing back, noting that everyone asking him if he's okay doesn't sit well with him, reasoning ... "It starts to make me feel like I'm the only one with issues and everyone else is perfect." The "Yummy" singer trolls the paparazzi head-on in his tracks "Butterflies" and "Standing on Business" by including audio clips of his viral interactions with shutterbugs as of late. As you'll remember, JB went viral in June for mocking eager photogs by telling them ... "It's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business!" Hailey also referenced the situation after the album news broke, posting a family portrait and writing ... "Is it finally clocking to you f***ing losers?" Message received. And, of course, we can't forget the singer's viral rant from April, during which he accused Coachella paps of only caring about the coin. A snippet from that encounter is featured in "Butterflies," and he goes on to sing ... "Money, that's all you want, you don't care about human beings." To view all content on this page click here. Paparazzi rant aside, Justin dealt with severe financial woes over the last several years -- with TMZ revealing in our doc that he sold his music catalogue in 2022 because he was on the verge of financial collapse. We also revealed he owed his former manager Scooter Braun millions of dollars ... and we confirmed Thursday that the pair reached a settlement that has the "Stay" singer handing over more than $35 million to Scooter. There's 21 tracks on "Swag" ... and clearly plenty of lyrics for fans to unravel. Solve the daily Crossword

Justin Bieber Licensed Paparazzi Video of Him Yelling at Photogs for New Album 'Swag'
Justin Bieber's chugging a giant pint of irony -- after raging out at paparazzi, he's now paying them to create content for new album, "SWAG" ... TMZ has learned. It's a pretty stunning plot twist ... the singer-songwriter made a deal with a photo agency to use the audio from a video shot last month, where he lashed out at the paparazzi for shooting him as he left a restaurant. We're told Bieber's camp made the photo agency sign an NDA ... so, their representatives aren't allowed to discuss terms of the deal, such as how much JB paid. The clip of that angry exchange appears in his new song, "STANDING ON BUSINESS" ... a reference to the viral video where the Biebs -- a blue hoodie and sweats -- wearing screamed that phrase at the paps on the street. In the video, he tells them he's a father, and he deserves a little more respect ... before telling someone mouthing off to him that he's standing 10 toes down in this situation. 'STANDING' starts with the audio from that exchange, before influencer Druski jumps in and corrects Bieber's pronunciation -- to make him more fearsome to his photog foes. Bottom line ... Bieber ultimately made a deal with his enemy. Ya could say he spent the money to reclaim his voice -- but the photo agency's taking his check to the bank, so they're winners too.
