Abandoned dog with anxiety looks just like dog in ‘Superman.' He needs a hero
Meet Bentley, an almost 4-year-old terrier-doodle mix, who is having trouble fitting into his new foster home, the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lubbock says.
'I was surrendered to the rescue due to no fault of my own. At first I had a really hard time transitioning from being with my family to being in my foster home. I struggled so much that I had to start taking anxiety medication to help me be okay,' the shelter said in a July 7 Facebook post, speaking in Bentley's voice.
'I am the most cuddly and sweet guy once you get to know me and I get to feel and I get to feel and I learn to trust you. It may take a little while for me to warm up so I need someone with a lot of patience and a big patient heart to understand I am a good loving boy.'
The shelter failed to point out Bentley and Krypto's resemblance, however. Krypto has been stealing hearts all over the nation after the release of the latest movie from the DC Universe. The movie even lead to a 500-percent surge in dog adoption interest, according to The Wrap.
The inspiration for the not-so-trainable sidekick came from Gunn's own rescue pup, Ozu, whom he adopted while writing the script for the film, CNN reported.
Now, it's time for Bentley to find his own Man of Steel (or, rather, his own Supergirl for those who have seen the film.)
'I am 95% potty trained and sleep well in a kennel at night or when my foster mom is away from home. I get along well with other animals as long as I have a slow introduction. I do kind of feel like I should be boss and tell everyone what they should do,' the shelter said.
The shelter says the sweet boy would prefer a home without small children, but he's okay with cats and dogs.

DC Fans Point Out Potential Plot Hole In ‘Superman'
James Gunn's Superman has officially kicked off the DC Universe. The new big screen adaptation of the popular superhero stars David Corenswet as the titular character – while Nicholas Hoult plays his nemesis, Lex Luthor. While the film has been well-received by most fans and critics, there are some DC fans who have pointed out a potential plot hole in Superman . For those who've seen the film, we're introduced to Superman's Fortress of Solitude quite early on, a home base for the character ran by androids and numerous secrets regarding the character's history. This is why Lex Luthor and his team including The Engineer make their way to the fortress in an effort to find any dirt they can on Superman. It just so happens that The Engineer locates a video of Superman's parents, one that was damaged upon arrival to Earth, and the second portion is corrupted. The Engineer manages to fix this portion of the footage and discovers that Superman's biological parents weren't as friendly as he believed. This sets up a large portion of the film in which Superman must clear his name while also coming to terms with the fact that his parents didn't have the best interests regarding humanity as he so believed. Eventually, he comes to choose his adoptive parents over them, and the end of the film plays footage of him growing up in Kansas. Now, as you can see below, this is where fans have pointed out the potential plot hole. 'I just realized she hacked the Fortress of Solitude,' one fan writes on X, referring to The Engineer, 'but just missed the whole home video of Clark's upbringing.' I just realized she hacked the Fortress of Solitude but just missed the whole home video of Clarks upbringing😭 — SEBA (@the_real_seba) July 28, 2025 If true, The Engineer could have potentially found the video and not only figured out Superman's identity but she could have created a whole slew of different problems than what we see in the film. Fortunately, for whatever reason she doesn't, and Superman's secret identity remains a secret – at least to most. Another fan does suggest this isn't a plot hole for Superman because the videos of his adoptive parents might've only been uploaded after most of the movie takes place, thus the footage wasn't available to begin with for The Engineer to see: It obviously hadn't been uploaded yet. That's kinda the point of the movie. Superman replaced the footage of his Kryptonian parents with his earth parents because they were morally good people who he loved more. — swam (@whitepilld) July 29, 2025 If so, it's not really a plot hole, but it does create another potential security risk for a sequel. Especially if they decide to once again break into Superman's fortress. Perhaps we'll see that come into play at some point, or at least see Superman's answer to keep out any other trespassers. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more DCU updates as we have them.

The Penguin Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on August 1, 2025, 18:30 IST Last updated August 1, 2025, 11:28 IST HBO's The Penguin made a bold entrance into the DC Universe, dragging viewers deep into Gotham's criminal underworld—and Colin Farrell's dark, unrecognizable turn as Oswald 'Oz' Cobblepot had a lot to do with that. The first season, gritty and slow-burning, ended with a bang and left fans hungry for more. Now, as the dust settles, everyone's asking the same thing: is The Penguin coming back for a second season? Is The Penguin Season 2 Happening? As of August 2025, HBO hasn't officially announced a second season. The show was initially pitched as a one-and-done limited series, meant to fill the gap between Matt Reeves' The Batman (2022) and its sequel, The Batman Part II , which hits theaters in October 2027. But with over 5 million viewers tuning in during the first four days, The Penguin proved it's more than just filler—it's a hit. Showrunner Lauren LeFranc and director Matt Reeves aren't ruling anything out. Speaking at the Golden Globes earlier this year, LeFranc said there's still plenty of story left to explore 'if the right idea comes along.' Reeves also confirmed there have been 'quiet conversations' with HBO about keeping the story going, though nothing's set in stone yet. Warner Bros. execs have echoed that a second season is 'definitely a possibility'—but it all comes down to timing, availability, and a killer story. The main hurdle? Reeves is focused on The Batman Part II , and any new season of The Penguin would need to fit into that larger universe without stepping on it. So, while the buzz is real, don't expect anything concrete just yet. Potential Release Date for The Penguin Season 2 Let's say HBO gives the greenlight tomorrow. Even then, we're probably looking at a release no earlier than late 2026 or early 2027. Season 1 took about three years to go from development to premiere, thanks to delays (including the 2023 Hollywood strikes). And with Farrell's extensive prosthetic work and the show's heavy production demands, nothing's going to move fast. Another possibility is that HBO might hold off until after The Batman Part II drops, which would push Season 2 even further—maybe to 2028. So, if you're a fan, patience will be key. Expected Cast for The Penguin Season 2 If The Penguin does return, you can bet Colin Farrell will be front and center—assuming he's up for it. He's hinted that he'd love to come back if the story's strong enough, though he's also admitted the role takes a toll, both emotionally and physically (three hours in a makeup chair every day isn't nothing). Cristin Milioti is also a likely return as Sofia Falcone. Her performance in Season 1 was chilling, and her storyline definitely left doors open for a comeback. She's even joked about wanting to try on prosthetics herself next time. Other potential returns: Deirdre O'Connell as Oz's mother, Francis Cobb – not exactly active in the story, but could appear in flashbacks or symbolic scenes. Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush – closely tied to Sofia's plotline and not entirely written off yet. Don't expect to see Rhenzy Feliz's character Victor again (if you know, you know), and many other Season 1 faces are up in the air due to the show's high body count. That said, Gotham's underworld is huge. There's plenty of room for new characters—maybe even Catwoman or someone unexpected from Batman's rogues' gallery. Potential Plot for The Penguin Season 2 Season 1 left Oz at the top of Gotham's crime food chain—but staying there is never easy. If Season 2 happens, we could see: Oz fending off rivals, old and new. Law enforcement or even Batman himself turning up the heat (the Bat-Signal did show up, after all). Sofia plotting her revenge—or maybe teaming up with someone just as dangerous. A deeper dive into Gotham's twisted web of corruption, with new villains, new alliances, and maybe even a new kingpin to challenge Oz. LeFranc has already teased that Gotham has 'so many stories left to tell,' and there's room to expand while keeping that grounded, noir vibe that made Season 1 stand out. Plus, with Farrell confirmed to appear in The Batman Part II , any future season of The Penguin will likely need to tie into whatever Reeves is building in that film. SUPERMAN VFX Artist Reveals Deleted Scene with Krypto and a Trail of Dead Abominable Snowmen — GeekTyrant
A VFX artist who worked on James Gunn's Superman has pulled back the curtain on a bizarre deleted moment that almost made the final cut. The scene, described by artist Matthew Eberle in a recent social media post, involved Krypto the Superdog and… a gruesome trail of dead abominable snowmen. Eberle explained: 'Originally… when Krypto is dragging Superman, they pass by several dead abominable snowmen… Superman says 'Krypto, you have to stop killing abominable snowmen'… Hit the cutting room floor. I was there.' The update also explains the Yeti-themed merchandise tied to the film's marketing, including a 'Fortress of Solitude Battle Set' that had fans scratching their heads when the creatures never appeared in the theatrical release. According to Eberle, the deleted moment would have taken place immediately after Superman's brutal defeat by the Hammer of Boravia in the opening sequence, which was a scene that sets the tone for the entire film. While the concept of Krypto casually mowing down Yetis sounds like something ripped from Gunn's trademark dark humor, it also risked breaking the tension of a critical introduction. The opening of Superman is designed to establish the hero's vulnerability and the stakes of the new DC Universe. Dropping in a joke like that, especially one so grim, might have undercut that dramatic weight. At the same time, they stuck with the gag of Krypto jumping on Superman over and over again. I think it would've been fun to see a trail of dead abominable snowmen! What do you think?
