Dynamic Islands could see a redesign on iPhone 17 models
DCS has been fairly accurate over the years, though their most recent post is a bit vague on specific details. The post (machine-translated) says, "The system has a brand new Smart Island UI."
The smaller interface may be made possible from a new part that's been rumored for the upcoming iPhone models for some time. Back in May, a rumor suggested the iPhone 17 lineup was going to get a "metalens" upgrade that could reduce the size of the feature.
Metalens are flat lenses that use "metasurfaces" to focus light toward the image sensor, a big upgraded over traditional curved lenses. That would allow the front camera and FaceID sensors to require less space,
Rumors surrounding the Dynamic Island have been contradictory though. Earlier this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said, "I expect the Dynamic Island size to remain largely unchanged across the 2H25 iPhone 17 series." It's also been rumored that a smaller island would only come to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
If the Dynamic Island changes, it'll be the first update since it was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models in 2022.
Whatever happens with the Dynamic Island, we should learn more about the iPhone 17 series in September when Apple usually debuts its latest models, only two months from now.

Better "Magnificent Seven" Stock: Apple or Amazon?
Apple and Amazon both have relatively slow growth rates. Amazon's high-growth segments are causing strong profit growth. Apple's profit and revenue growth are closely linked. 10 stocks we like better than Amazon › Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) are two of the largest companies in the world and are both members of the "Magnificent Seven" group of stocks. Both companies have delivered excellent long-term returns for shareholders, but does either investment stand out as a better one to buy right now? Let's take a look at both companies and see which one is the best buy today. Amazon and Apple aren't the pinnacle of growth for big tech. Each company has posted fairly mundane growth rates over the past few quarters, which might cause investors to wonder why they want to own either stock. With each stock growing less than 10% during its most recent quarter, I wouldn't blame anyone for questioning whether these two could be named growth stocks. However, when you dig into each company, it's clear one still deserves the growth stock adjective. Apple's lack of growth stems from a few issues. First, Apple hasn't released any innovative products or features for multiple years. They are a clear example of a company riding on prior success and are still succeeding with that model. One area where this has become abundantly clear is AI, as Apple is behind nearly every smartphone company in terms of AI features. Another area Apple has been harmed is the lengthening smartphone turnover cycle. A decade ago, each iteration of the iPhone brought massive innovations and must-have features. Now, the phone purchased today isn't all that different from a two- or three-year-old phone. This innovation slowdown has caused consumers to upgrade phones less frequently, which has harmed Apple's growth rate. Amazon is a completely different story. Most people recognize Amazon for its e-commerce platform, which generates the lion's share of revenue. In Q1, online stores and third-party seller services generated $94 billion in sales. Considering Amazon generated $143 billion in total revenue in Q1, that's a significant portion of its total revenue. These two segments were also the slowest-growing of all of Amazon's segments, which dragged down the overall growth rate. However, Amazon still had some strong performers, with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and advertising services rising 17% and 18%, respectively, in Q1. The strong quarter for both of these segments is hidden within Amazon's total revenue growth rate; however, the impact that these two have on Amazon's profit margins is undeniable. Despite AWS accounting for only 19% of total sales in Q1, it generated 63% of operating profits. While Amazon doesn't break out advertising operating margins, it's safe to assume they are incredibly high, especially when advertising-focused companies like Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) deliver operating margins of 40% or greater. It's highly likely that a large chunk of Amazon's profits from the commerce business come from this segment, although there's no way to know for sure. Still, because Amazon's high-margin businesses are growing at a high-teens rate, that means its profits are also rapidly increasing. In Q1, Amazon's operating profits increased 20% year over year, marking an excellent result. Compared to Apple, whose operating profits grew only 6%, this is a significantly better result. Apple doesn't have the same catalyst for expanding profit margins as Amazon does, so its margins are closely tied to its revenue growth rate. On the other hand, Amazon's profits are growing substantially faster than Apple's and are likely to continue doing so with its strong-performing advertising and AWS business segments. As a result, I think Amazon is a far better buy right now, as it has an earnings growth catalyst that Apple doesn't have. Every AirPods Model Is at a Record-Low Price for Prime Day 2025
To know me is to know that I almost always have a pair of AirPods perched in my ears. Much to my delight, I logged on to Amazon this morning to find every AirPods model currently sitting at its lowest price ever for Prime Day. While the sale is historically an amazing time to save on Apple gear, I'm calling it now: This will be one of the best tech deals of the entire shebang. I mean, 40% off AirPods Pro 2? You'll be kicking yourself all year long for not taking advantage. Music, podcasts, audiobooks—no matter what I'm listening to, they're my headphone of choice when it comes to tuning out the world. And although I've always been an earbud kind of gal, there's something impossibly chic about the AirPods Max, Apple's answer to over-ear headphones. I am essentially powerless when it comes to Apple's range of headphones, so much so that I've been planning to scoop up a new pair for myself. When it comes to Prime Day, this isn't my first rodeo. I've covered countless tech deals and keep track of Apple prices year-round, so, *cracks knuckles,* allow me to drop a nugget of Prime Day wisdom for ya: Any time Apple tech is this cheap, it sells out faster than tickets to the Eras tour. Usually I'd tell you to be financially responsible and think about your purchase before swiping your card, but when it comes to these record-low AirPods deals, the longer you wait, the more likely they are to go out of stock completely. Trust: We're not going to see AirPods deals this good come back around for a loooong time. If I were you, I'd add 'em to your cart ASAP (but def before the sale ends on Friday, July 11!!!).

Apple Operating Chief Jeff Williams to Pass Role to Lieutenant
Apple Inc. Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams will hand off the job to deputy Sabih Khan later this month, marking a major transition for the iPhone maker. Williams is taking the step as part of a 'long-planned succession,' Apple said in a statement Tuesday. He will continue to report to Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and oversee the company's design team, as well as managing health initiatives.
