CHANCELLOR BARCLAY - Miami
Known as a versatile technician with a sky-high floor in leading to a Clemson Tiger verbal commitment this offseason, Barclay backed up the momentum en route to camp MVP honors in Miami. He worked active hands and fluid feet to initiate the contact with defenders while remaining on balance, sometimes easily driving opponents around the horn in the process.

Barclay has an elite punch and can dictate the pace despite a more narrow frame on the offensive interior, and again proved he is more than capable when defenders defer to secondary moves thereafter.

ISMAEL CAMARA - Dallas
The France native snaps out of his stance with a wide base, limiting the angles defenders can use against him right off the ball. With a powerful punch to boot, he can set the pace on a given rep inside or out on the edge.
Camara also flashes dominance with the type of frame – 6-foot-6, 330 pounds – that can envelop smaller pass rushers once in close. Currently tabbed as the No. 2 interior offensive line projection in 2027, Camara took home MVP honors in Dallas just last month.

It looks like the SEC could be where he takes his talents on Saturdays, with Texas, Alabama and Tennessee among those in good position early on.
KHALIEF CANTY - Atlanta
Not necessarily a new name to know nationally, the Detroit native came down to Atlanta as a late addition and the four-star made a memorable first impression for onlookers that Sunday morning. The narrative quickly shifted from, "Who is that?" to "Detroit!" -- which is what coaches began to call him as he won rep after rep.
Canty not only worked with a bravado that the WWE would consider, but he backed it up with as aggressive and punishing a punch as we saw throughout the circuit. Even as defenders anticipated the move, his length and snap quickness would continue to win out as competition continued.

Canty will announce his commitment on June 23 between Michigan State and Missouri, also the programs getting his next two official visits.
LEX MAILANGI - Los Angeles
The patience and overall technique jumps off the page with Mailangi and he executes at a high clip, part of the reason he took home MVP honors at the Los Angeles stop. The rising-junior is built like a classic interior type, but showcases better footwork and movement skills for a prospect carrying well over 300 pounds.
From maintaining leverage to redirection, Mailangi was prepared for initial moves and counter moves alike. Throw in a rock solid punch and interior defenders had a rough go at it against the blue-chip blocker on that March morning.

Oregon, UCLA, Tennessee and Alabama are some of the programs in the mix for one of the top 2027 blockers nationally, with the Ducks perhaps in the best spot early on.
GABRIEL OSENDA - Atlanta
The massive Tennessee commitment always turns heads when he enters an event, checking in at a legitimate 6-foot-8, but it was also how he carried his 300-plus pounds at the Atlanta camp. He looked trim and more swift in drills and it carried over onto the competition portion of the event, where Osenda was near dominant on every single rep he took.
The Canadian was impossible to move on contact but also gave ground better than we had seen previously in his development – and the package came with a vocal confidence that became its own storyline.
Despite a loaded group, there was not much consideration elsewhere when it came to positional MVP honors that day.

Shohei Ohtani throws fastest pitch of his MLB career in third ramp-up start of season
Shohei Ohtani brought out the heat on Saturday. Ohtani, 30, lit up the radar gun during his third start of the 2025 season, reaching 101.7 mph on the 14th pitch of his outing against the Royals — good for the fastest pitch of his MLB career. Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino was able to make contact with the heater, but ultimately grounded into a double play to close out the first inning. Advertisement Ohtani's previous fastest MLB pitch came back in 2022 when he threw a 101.4 mph fastball to then-Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker. The team said that Ohtani's pitch Saturday was the hardest thrown by any Dodgers hurler so far this season. Advertisement Ohtani also hit triple digits earlier in the at-bat against Pasquantino, dotting a 100.2 mph fastball on the inside corner. According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, Ohtani did reach 102 mph during the 2023 World Baseball Classic — and it came against Pasquantino. The three-time MVP wound up throwing two innings on Saturday, giving up one hit while notching a strikeout and a walk in his third start since the 2023 season. Ohtani's return to the mound comes after the four-time All-Star underwent his second elbow surgery in 2023 as a member of the Angels. Ohtani had a 10-5 record with a 3.14 ERA and 167 strikeouts through 132 innings pitched before ultimately being sidelined from the mound for the remainder of the 2023 season with the elbow issue. The right-hander told reporters following his start against the Nationals on Sunday, 'I want to see improvements with the quality of the pitches that I'm throwing, and then also increasing the amount of pitches.' 'I think that it's more of just trying to get the foundation, the building blocks as he's [pitching and] taking at-bats,' Roberts added. '[We are] erring on the side of caution … There's no sense in rushing it right now.'

Former All-Star Jeff Teague gives praise to Sixers' Justin Edwards
Throughout the pre-draft process leading into the 2025 NBA draft, there was a lot of talk about Rutgers star Ace Bailey. The collegiate star did not work out for anybody heading into the draft as it appeared he had a target in mind. The Philadelphia 76ers were one of those teams Bailey canceled a workout on at the very last minute and the young forward ended up being selected No. 5 overall by the Utah Jazz. The Sixers ended up selecting Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe at No. 3 overall. Former All-Star guard Jeff Teague wasn't happy with Bailey's draft strategy and criticized the future NBA star. In the same breath, he gave a lot of love and praise to Sixers forward Justin Edwards: That's the dumbest move I've ever heard from an agent in my life…His agent is horrible… you don't have to work out, but you can go meet with the teams… Nobody else is declining them, Dylan Harper ain't declining them… Tre Johnson not declining them. They got a player that's better than him in Philly--Edwards, I swear Edwards is nice…He just got messed up in that Kentucky system, but he can really hoop. Edwards, who the Sixers just agreed to a 3-year deal with, averaged 10.1 points as an undrafted rookie in the 2024-25 season. He will now look to build on that and continue to move forward. He has the chance to be in coach Nick Nurse's rotation as he looks to build and develop in this league.

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani throws record heat but strikes out three times in loss
Shohei Ohtani threw the fastest pitch of his career at 101.7 mph and worked two efficient innings in his third mound start for the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowing one hit and one walk against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. It was the first start of more than one inning this season for the two-way superstar, who is working as an opener as he eases his way back into pitching. The three-time MVP did not pitch last season, his first with the Dodgers, while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made 86 mound starts over five seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, going 38-19 with a 3.01 ERA. On Saturday, Ohtani threw first-pitch strikes to all seven batters he faced and finished with 27 pitches, 20 for strikes. He allowed a one-out single to Bobby Witt Jr. in the first and walked Maikel Garcia before throwing the 101.7 mph fastball on an 0-2 count to Vinnie Pasquantino, who grounded into a double play. Ohtani retired the side in order in the second, fanning rookie Jac Caglianone on an 89 mph slider. However, his day at the plate was less than stellar as he went 0-for-4 as the 9-5 loss. He struck out three times. The 30-year-old has 29 homers this season as Los Angeles' primary designated hitter. Reporting by The Associated Press. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?
