Harish slams Revanth's Nallamala Declaration
The BRS leader said, 'Farmer Declaration was shelved, BC Declaration vanished into thin air, and now the Nallamala Declaration has taken the stage. What remains common is loud declarations, but no dedication to implement them. Grand on the surface, hollow at the core – these declarations are turning into deceptive distractions.'
Harish Rao questioned the intent behind the Nallamala Declaration, especially when the same government arrested innocent Chenchu tribal youth who came to meet the Chief Minister. 'Revanth Reddy, who claims to be a child of Nallamala, has exposed his authoritarian attitude by arresting those very children of the forest. Is it governance to arrest and detain tribal leaders in advance and then announce declarations in their name?' he asked. He criticised the CM's speech as being full of aggression and self-praise but lacking substance and context. 'What people heard once again was his trademark hollow rhetoric – nothing new, nothing relevant,' he said.

Dissatisfied over the 'unilateral' statements made by both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the Banakacherla issue, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the Centre took on the role of a facilitator to help resolve the long-standing water disputes between the two states amicably. Speaking to the media after distributing bicycles to Class 10 students of government schools in Huzurabad town on Thursday, Mr. Sanjay said, 'The Centre organised a meeting with CMs of both States with the sole intention of achieving a peaceful resolution to the long-standing water disputes.' In reality, both the Chief Ministers had gone to the meeting with separate and individual agendas. For the Centre, both States are equal, he said, and noted that the Centre formed the expert committee to look into the listed issues to ensure justice to both. Terming the BRS party's allegations over the issue as politically motivated, he accused the previous BRS rulers of colluding with the then Andhra Pradesh government and mortgaging Telangana's share of Krishna waters. The current government seems to be following the same path, he charged. He reiterated that the BJP will not accept any move to provide 10% reservations to Muslims from within the 42% quota for Backward Classes. 'We will convince the Centre so that full 42% quota is exclusively earmarked for BCs,' he noted. He said the corruption among the errant irrigation officials associated with the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) is shocking. Crores of rupees have been uncovered in ACB raids, he pointed out, saying the 'inflated estimates' of the project show how the previous BRS rulers indulged in 'massive corruption'. Phone-tapping The Union Minister said he had received a notice from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the phone-tapping case to appear before it as a witness on July 24. 'I will submit all the facts I know before the SIT,' he added.

Farmers being misled on urea shortage: BJP
The BJP has accused the Congress Government of sowing the seeds of doubt into the minds of farmers in Telangana about the purported shortage of urea for the Rabi season, even when the Centre had actually supplied three lakh metric tonnes more. Addressing the farmers' wing (Kisan Morcha) of the party, during a meeting of its office-bearers at the State BJP office here on Thursday, party president N. Ramchander Rao said that the 'urea shortage bogey' is being created by the ruling party only to reap the benefit during the forthcoming local body polls. The BJP chief charged the government with spreading falsehoods when the Centre had supplied 12.02 lakh metric tonnes of urea for the 24-25 agriculture season, when the demand was just 9.5 lakh metric tonnes. In fact, under the Modi Government, necessary steps were taken to provide ample supply of fertilizers to farmers across the country and also in dealing with black marketers with an iron hand, unlike the UPA regime 'where farmers were forced to stand in queues for obtaining it', he added. Yet, the Congress Government here wants to mislead farmers and to cover up its own failures in not ensuring proper payment of Rythu Bharosa, which has been cut from the promised ₹15,000 during the elections to ₹12,000, but now ₹6,000 is being credited into farmers' accounts, he said. Mr. Ramchander Rao also said that the farmers' welfare scheme payment was made last month only after the High Court had directed the local body polls to be held by September end. It has been 19 months since the Government has come to power but there has been no movement to provide the farm insurance which would help the famers during natural calamities under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana and following the BRS Government in this connection, he said. The former MLC also questioned the government about the Bhu Bharati module replacing the controversial Dharani of BRS regime and said it is marked with technical glitches. 'Farmers are forced to run around registration offices for justice still and there is a lack of accountability from the administration side. We should go to the local level and highlight farmers' grievances,' he advised the wing. The BJP leader said such is the sad financial condition in the State that retired employees are being denied benefits and made to run from pillar to post. General secretary G. Premender Reddy, farmers' wing national executive member G. Madhusudhan Reddy and others were present. Medak tour Mr. Ramchander Rao will tour Medak district and participate in various programmes, organised by the BJP, in Narsapur, Chegonta, Medak, and Toopran, on Friday, said a press release.

Revanth says Banakacherla project not discussed, will visit Delhi twice a month to protect Telangana's interests
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy clarified that the Jal Shakti Ministry itself confirmed there was no discussion on the Banakacherla project during the inter-State meeting on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) where both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers participated in the presence of Union Jal Shakthi Minister C.R. Patil. 'How can problems be solved without discussions with the Centre?' questioned Mr. Revanth. 'Even India and Pakistan hold talks on water distribution. What's wrong if I speak to the neighbouring State's CM? This is about the people's interests, not political showmanship,' he said in an informal interaction with reporters in New Delhi on Thursday (July 17, 2025). Taking a swipe at the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), he said, 'I am not an engineer. Decisions will come after technical studies. People gave me the authority to work with the Central government. Should I go to farmhouse or New Delhi to get the issues resolved?' he asked, taking a jibe at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He also announced his intent to visit New Delhi twice a month to work in coordination with various Union Ministries, as continuous dialogue with the Centre was essential to protect Telangana's interests, particularly on crucial issues like water sharing. Telangana CM plans to meet Maharashtra CM Mr. Reddy also confirmed plans to meet the Maharashtra Chief Minister on the Tummidihatti project soon. 'When KCR met with Chandrababu and Jaganmohan Reddy, he claimed it as a victory. Now they say it's wrong if I meet them [A.P. leaders]. If I don't attend these meetings, who will present Telangana's case before the Centre?,' he asked. Continuing his attack on the BRS leadership, Mr. Reddy alleged that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao's close circles were involved in drug abuse. 'KTR's friend Kedar died of a drug overdose in Dubai, and we secured the forensic report to Telangana,' he claimed. The Chief Minister further attacked KTR saying that his sister K. Kavitha was not willing to accept her brother's leadership and has exposed the internal bickering. 'KTR ran away when I challenged him for a debate in the past.' The Chief Minister also questioned the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) inaction, despite evidence, in cases like the sheep distribution scam, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) irregularities, and the Formula E race. 'The ED has taken the evidence we gathered, yet there is no arrest of KCR, KTR or Harish Rao,' he said, accusing the Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of not following up with the concerned Ministry. On the ongoing investigations in Telangana, he said investigations against KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao will continue. 'The High Court is looking into the phone-tapping issue,' he said.
