Mahesh Goud scoffs at Kavitha's sudden love for BCs
Hyderabad: PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has questioned the BRS party's credibility in raising questions over the sincerity of the Congress in implementing 42% reservation for BCs. He said that BRS, which has been in power for ten years, never cared about increasing the BC reservation. He alleged that when the Congress announced the BC Declaration, leaders like MLC K Kavitha were busy counting 'scam money from the liquor case'. Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC Chief said that Kavitha should remember and acknowledge that social justice had not been done during the ten-year BRS rule. He urged the media to question Kavitha, who was in Tihar Jail, when she fought for BC reservations. While ridiculing her statements, the Congress MLC said that Telangana's populace is laughing at her remarks. 'Is Kavitha even clear about which party she is in now,' he asked. He explained that BRS has supported BJP at the Centre on many bills in the past. But BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao was frustrated and not in a mood to appreciate the crucial decision to increase reservations for BCs, taken up by the Congress. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that KCR has not opened his mouth on the decision that will benefit BCs. He also said that BJP is not sincere towards BCs. So far, there has been no response from the Center on the BC reservation increase bill.

When we announced ‘BC Declaration', BRS leaders were counting corrupt money: Mahesh Goud
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud questioned the BRS party's credibility in raising questions over the sincerity of the Congress in implementing 42% reservations. 'Who are the real champions of BC rights now is understood by the people? BRS leaders, particularly MLC K Kavitha, are now pretending to celebrate BC reservation, but their opportunism stands exposed. When we announced the BC Declaration, leaders like Kavitha were busy counting scam money from the liquor case,' he alleged. Addressing a press conference at the Gandhi Bhavan along with party MPs Mallu Ravi and Chamala Kiran Reddy, he said it was laughable that Ms Kavitha was warning the Congress without explaining her silence in the last 10 years. 'If there was even an ounce of morality, Kavitha should have resigned from the BRS now, as it was the party that reduced the reservations.' Mr. Goud accused the BRS of political hypocrisy and said that the party had failed to take any meaningful steps for BC welfare during its tenure. Turning his focus to the BJP, Mr Goud alleged that the party's disregard for BC communities was evident in its internal leadership choices. 'Despite all the rhetoric, BJP didn't find a single BC leader worthy of heading the party in the state. Their double standards are now clear to the people,' he said. Hailing the Congress government's decision to provide 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections as a 'historic milestone in the journey towards social justice.' Congress party alone holds the distinction of delivering the highest-ever representation for BCs in the country's history,' he said. Mr. Goud further said that he was fortunate to be TPCC President at a time when such a landmark decision has been taken. This is not just a political move, it is a promise fulfilled, and a dream realised for the BC community,' he said. Recounting his own efforts, Mr. Goud noted that he had released the BC Declaration during his tenure as Working President of the TPCC in Kamareddy. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leadership, he said Rahul Gandhi was a hero in making BC reservations a national issue.

Rahul reiterated that Telangana's survey is a model for the entire nation in enumeration of castes along with census. The AICC held a training session for its spokespersons on Telangana's Socio-Economic, Caste, Education, Political and Employment Survey, conducted between November 6, 2024, and January 16, 2025. TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud, campaign committee chairman Madhu Yaskhi Goud, and media and communications chairman Sama Rammohan Reddy also attended the meeting. During the session, Mahesh Goud explained the political aspects of the caste survey while senior leader Koppula Raju presented the caste survey statistics. Speaking to TNIE from the national capital, Mahesh Goud said that he had explained how Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra gave inspiration to conduct a caste survey, thereby making it an election promise in the BC Declaration made at Kamareddy. He said that Rahul's promise helped the party consolidate BC votes. He said that based on Rahul's promise and the party's commitment, the Congress government in the state also passed a Bill enhancing BC reservations to 42%. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Mahesh Goud is likely to stay back in Delhi till Saturday to hold key meetings with the party high command. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is also expected to meet the party high command to discuss developments in the party.

Harish slams Revanth's Nallamala Declaration
Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T Harish Rao on Monday came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for turning declarations into mere political spectacles devoid of commitment and credibility. The BRS leader said, 'Farmer Declaration was shelved, BC Declaration vanished into thin air, and now the Nallamala Declaration has taken the stage. What remains common is loud declarations, but no dedication to implement them. Grand on the surface, hollow at the core – these declarations are turning into deceptive distractions.' Harish Rao questioned the intent behind the Nallamala Declaration, especially when the same government arrested innocent Chenchu tribal youth who came to meet the Chief Minister. 'Revanth Reddy, who claims to be a child of Nallamala, has exposed his authoritarian attitude by arresting those very children of the forest. Is it governance to arrest and detain tribal leaders in advance and then announce declarations in their name?' he asked. He criticised the CM's speech as being full of aggression and self-praise but lacking substance and context. 'What people heard once again was his trademark hollow rhetoric – nothing new, nothing relevant,' he said.

Harish Rao flays CM for making one more declaration without implementing previous ones
HYDERABAD Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former minister T. Harish Rao has criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for announcing Nallamala Declaration stating that the implementation of Rythu Declaration and BC Declaration made before the Assembly elections is incomplete and uncertain. Except for making such declarations with fanfare the Congress government had not made any sincere effort to implement them, Mr. Rao said in a statement on Monday after the Chief Minister's new announcement at Macharam village in Amrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district. He sought to know why the Chief Minister, who would often claim himself as the son of Nallamala soil, did not allow the Chenchu tribes who went there to meet him. The arrest of Chenchus at the Chief Minister's programme was a reflection of his dictatorial attitude and there was no meaning in making the Nallamala Declaration after making the preventive arrests of Chenchus tribe leaders. 'Is it called praja palana,' the BRS leader sought to know. There was neither content nor context in the Chief Minister's speech except for attacking the rival party. He reminded the Chief Minister about the partial implementation of farm loan waiver, denial of investment support and the delay in procurement of paddy. The fate of ₹2,500 per month assistance to women under Mahalaxmi, enhanced Kalayana Lakshmi support with 10 gm gold in addition to ₹1 lakh financial assistance for the marriage of girls from poor families, the ₹5 lakh vidya bharosa card, two lakh jobs in the first year, denial of enhanced social security pensions and others. Coming to employees, the BRS leader said the State government staff were awaiting payment of dearness allowance dues, pay revision commission, retirement benefits (to retired employees), the waiting of RTC staff for their absorption by the government and the fate of six guarantees.
