Selena Gomez Returning for "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" Season 2
Yara Sameh
Selena Gomez is set to reprise the role of Alex Russo in Season 2 of 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.'
Gomez posted Friday about her return to the spinoff in an Instagram story, writing, 'Just feels right…' over a photo featuring her sitting on the iconic set holding a wand.
The star executive produces the series, which is a spinoff of 'Wizards of Waverly Place,' the Disney Channel sitcom that ran for four seasons from 2007 to 2012 and launched Gomez's career.
'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' premiered in October of last year, with Gomez appearing in two of the first season's 21 episodes.
In the original series, Gomez's Alex Russo was a young wizard who trained in magic alongside her two brothers with the knowledge that only one of them would be able to keep their powers once they reached adulthood. Alex won the competition.
In the spinoff, Alex reaches out to her brother Justin (David Henrie) and asks if teenage wizard Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) can move in with him and his family to train in magic.
A synopsis for Season 2 of 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' reads, 'Billie grapples with the fact that being part of the Russo family might be more complicated than she thought — especially now that she's not the only wizard in the house. Thanks to Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo's (Max Matenko) new magical powers, Justin is now tasked with training three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. As the stakes rise inside and outside the family, a mysterious new threat emerges — one that could unravel the Russos forever.'
Besides Gomez, executive producers of 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' include Henrie; writers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas; Gary Marsh; and Jonas Agin. The series was created by Todd Greenwald.

"The Batman 2" Script Is Finally Complete
Yara Sameh DC fans have finally received some good news about the future of the highly anticipated 'The Batman' sequel. Writer-director Matt Reeves shared a photo of the completed script on Friday after several delays. 'Partners in Crime (Fighters),' Reeves wrote in a shared Instagram post with co-writer Mattson Tomlin. The first page of the script is blurred out, but a Batman logo can be seen very clearly at the top. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Matt Reeves (@mattreevesla) It's been a long wait for an update on 'The Batman Part II,' which was originally announced in April 2022, a month after the original Robert Pattinson blockbuster soared into theaters. After several delays, the sequel is now scheduled for October 1, 2027 — five and a half years after the original made more than $772 million at the global box office. The news comes just a couple weeks ahead of the big-screen debut of James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe with 'Superman.' Gunn addressed DC fans' online outrage over 'The Batman' Part II' script delay in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. 'Listen, we're supposed to get a script in June. I hope that happens. We feel really good about it,' Gunn noted. 'People should get off Matt's nuts because it's like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it. That's just the way it is. He doesn't owe you something because you like his movie. I mean, you like his movie because of Matt. So let Matt do things the way he does.' He added, 'I am irritated by people. I mean, it's just that thing people don't need to be entitled about. It's going to come out when he feels good about the screenplay. And Matt's not going to give me the screenplay until he feels good about the screenplay.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
