Liam Gallagher booed by Oasis fans at Heaton Park after dedicating a song

Oasis fans have been left raging over the crowd's lack of energy in Manchester, but that didn't stop Liam and Noel Gallagher from putting on an epic show.
Rock icon Liam Gallagher faced jeers at the monumental Oasis reunion gig at Heaton Park in Manchester, yet it wasn't his tunes that provoked the crowd. The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, walked on stage together to thunderous applause from the crowd gathered on Friday evening at the vast open-air venue.
The atmosphere changed briefly when Liam took a moment for an unexpected tribute. He proclaimed: "I'd like to dedicate this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola."

This mention of the Manchester City boss led to a wave of boos from the fans—but Liam coolly retorted: "Who you f***ing booing, who you f***ing booing."

Amidst the boos, a life-sized cut-out of Pep Guardiola sporting a Man City scarf became the focal point on stage. Laughter replaced boos as Liam launched into the anthem 'D'You Know What I Mean'.
Enhancing the backstage buzz, none other than Pep Guardiola himself was spotted enjoying interactions with the Gallaghers, including times with Noel's daughter and Liam's progeny, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile, Noel paid his respects to two of Manchester's comedic legends, Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash from The Royle Family, dedicating: "This one's for Caroline and Craig" before he played an acoustic rendition of Half the World Away, the beloved sitcom's theme song.
Warm-up act Cast surprised attendees with a special guest appearance, and Richard Ashcroft tipped his hat to another Mancunian music legend during his set.

The vast ocean of Oasis devotees assembled at Heaton Park haven't escaped critique from home viewers watching online streams. One irate fan exclaimed: "The crowd is mental, mental for not enjoying the show."
Another observed: "This crowd wasted their money on the tickets."
An additional comment read: "Cardiff crowd definitely was better. well seemed it."

A fourth chimed in: "Thought the crowd would be mental here.
"More people stood around talking no appreciating what a great song probably all waiting for Wonderwall," opined one attendee. Another vented their frustration: "Wtf shouldn't be able to hear people's convos at an oasis homecoming gig."

One more critic slammed: "Fake fans," and someone else derisively remarked: "Noasis would have better atmosphere."
Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher appeared to reference internal friction within the band as he took a shot at his brother Noel. As "Rock N Roll Star" began, Liam quipped: "Listen up beautiful people this is going to be our last song."
He added, acknowledging the group's notorious complexities: "Thanks for sticking with us. I know we are difficult, but you wanna try being in the band."

Liam Gallagher makes a cryptic reference to his now-deleted social media post during Heaton Park show after sparking outrage over racial slur

Liam Gallagher made a cryptic reference to his now-deleted social media post as he spoke on stage during Oasis' second night at Heaton Park on Saturday. The singer, 52, sparked outrage earlier this month when he shared a racial slur to X, which he later apologised for. Famously outspoken and controversial, Liam left many of his Asian fans hurt and offended, after sharing derogatory phrase 'chingchong'. The slur is a derogatory imitation of the Chinese language and is used mock or denigrate people of East Asian descent. Seemingly referring to the incident in front of the sold-out 80,000 strong crowd in Manchester, Liam explained that he had burnt his eyelids. He then added: 'Gotta wear the shades tonight, didn't wear them last night, woke up this morning like a grasshopper? You're allowed to say grasshopper, right?' Liam appeared to tweet the phrase two weeks ago, responding to critics by claiming: 'it's an ancient thought process get on it.' He later responded to one fan warning him he'd be cancelled by saying: 'Whatever'. But he seemed to have learned the error of his ways after deleting the original tweet and taking to X once again to apologise and insist his use of the slur wasn't 'intentional'. Liam wrote: 'Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn't intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x'. However, the damage was done for many, with some less than impressed by his apology and calling his behaviour 'disappointing'. They took to social media to say: 'My friend once went to Liam Gallagher's Knebworth gig alone, and got assaulted by racists. It was never just a wrong word. It sounds okay to you because you've never been scared by people calling you racist slurs. Grown ups should know it's never right to defend racism'. 'Why are so many white people defending Liam Gallagher and saying he did nothing wrong?? Just because he sang your favourite songs doesn't mean you can excuse blatant racism.' 'Who would have thought in 2025 at the ripe age of 52 Liam Gallagher would still consider casual racism as being edgy.' But he seemed to have learned the error of his ways, after deleting the original tweet and taking to X once again to apologise and insist his use of the slur wasn't 'intentional' Liam and Noel were hand-in-hand as they kicked off the first of their five-night stint at Heaton Park on Friday. Oasis performed in front of a sold-out 80,000 strong crowd in their home city of Manchester after beginning their world tour in Cardiff last week. The shows at Heaton Park - a 600-acre public park in Bury and Manchester - are the only UK shows held outside a stadium, with the others taking place at the Principality Stadium, Wembley and Murrayfield. Oasis opened their set with Hello from their 1995 second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, before playing Acquiesce. Fans were treated to Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Cigarettes and Alcohol, and Supersonic before Noel's acoustic set. Other songs included D'You Know What I Mean, Cast No Shadow, Stand By Me, Whatever and Rock N Roll Star. Oasis ended the night on Champagne Supernova with fireworks being set off from the stage.

Newly-single Orlando Bloom belts out Oasis hits as he heads to the band's show in Manchester after THAT awkward reunion with ex Katy Perry

Newly-single Orlando Bloom brushed off his awkward reunion with ex-fiancée Katy Perry as he headed to Oasis' reunion show in Manchester on Saturday. The English actor, 48, took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday and shared a video of himself singing along to brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, ahead of their second performance in Heaton Park this weekend. Orlando and Katy, 40, confirmed their split earlier this month as they entered a 'new relationship dynamic', but just days later were pictured together at pals Jeff and Lauren Bezos' honeymoon. The Pirates of the Caribbean star seemed in good spirits on social media as he penned: 'Road to Oasis. Could not be more f'in excited,' while travelling to the gig. 'It's gonna be karaoke all night,' he declared as he flashed a smile at the camera. Another snap showed him smiling and singing along to hit Don't Look Back In Anger in the background, as he relaxed on a boat. Orlando and Katy began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019, before welcoming their four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove into the world. After the couple were trailed by rumours about the state of their relationship, it was widely reported that they have gone their separate ways. Representatives for the pair have confirmed to that 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.' The insider further added that the reported breakup had been 'a long time coming' and that their relationship had also been 'tense for months.' On Wednesday, Orlando posted about his reunion with Perry in a carousel of snaps, after awkwardly jetting off holiday together, despite their split. The former couple's daughter Daisy - who turns five next month in August - was also seen with her parents on the Italian getaway. In the wake of their separation, Orlando had whisked himself away to Venice to attend the star-studded nuptials between Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez this past weekend. Katy, who had been a guest at Lauren's bachelorette party in Paris and was also one of the bride's fellow passengers on the controversial all-female Blue Origin space flight launched by Jeff, was not in attendance. When it emerged that Orlando was going to the wedding alone, Katy's absence was explained away as a scheduling conflict with her Lifetimes tour in Australia. At the wedding, Orlando was spotted mingling with a number of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney. Fresh from three days partying at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Venice wedding extravaganza, Orlando headed on board Ritz-Carlton's gleaming 794ft Luminara for its inaugural cruise from Rome. Orlando was also recently spotted cosying up to Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, during a water taxi ride as they headed to the airport following the Amazon founder's wedding this past weekend. A separate source recently told that Katy had been left hurt by Orlando's actions. 'It's disappointing. It's hurtful and annoying. If he's going to behave like an acting-up adolescent, that's on him. She's going to continue to work and take care of Daisy.' They added, 'Katy knows that he's free to do whatever the hell he wants to do, she hoped he'd do it a little more discreetly and thoughtfully. So she's disappointed and sad.' During one of the early shows of her Lifetimes Tour in Mexico City this April, Katy had been seen sobbing while singing her song Pearl about leaving a troubled romance. After news had spread of her split from Orlando, she once again fought back tears while addressing a concert audience in Adelaide, holding her hands in the shape of a heart and saying: 'Thank you, Australia, for always being there for me.'

Liam Gallagher makes cryptic referenec to controversial social media post

Oasis took to the stage this evening for the second of their five shows in their home city, and Liam Gallagher appeared to reference a now-deleted social media post Liam Gallagher seemed to allude to a recently deleted social media post that sparked controversy during Oasis's second performance at Heaton Park. The iconic band took to the stage for the second of their five shows in their hometown, their first Manchester shows since 2009. Before launching into their hit song Some Might Say, Liam addressed the audience, making a comment that appeared to reference a contentious social media post from earlier this month. "Gotta wear the shades tonight, didn't wear them last night, woke up this morning like a grasshopper? You're allowed to say grasshopper, right?" he said. ‌ On July 1, Liam sparked outrage after sharing a derogatory term often used to mock or imitate languages spoken in China or people of East Asian descent. He subsequently deleted the post and issued an apology, stating: "Sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x." ‌ The incident prompted one fan to sell her ticket to the opening night of the Live '25 tour in Cardiff, citing that she was left 'completely heartbroken'. The Oasis Live '25 tour was announced last August, two days before the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe, marking the biggest concert launch in the UK and Ireland. A staggering ten million people attempted to snag tickets for their UK and Ireland tour, as fans grappled with skyrocketing ticket prices due to dynamic pricing and other sales hitches. ‌ This summer, Liam, Noel and Bonehead, joined by Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Joey Waronker, are set to rock 19 UK and Ireland venues in cities such as Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, before embarking on a series of international gigs later in the year. After tonight's gig, the band will return to Heaton Park on Wednesday, with two more performances lined up for next weekend, wrapping up their five-date stint at this venue. The band will be performing to 80,000 fans at every gig in Manchester, which has been received with five star reviews. On Friday, their first night, the crowd was joined by a string of famous faces, including Jack Grealish, Pep Guardiola, Andy Whyment, and Vernon Kay, all packed into the crowd as they belted out Oasis' biggest hits throughout the night. But hundreds who struggled to get tickets when they went on sale last year still managed to enjoy the first night. As the sun went down on Friday, Don't Look Back In Anger, Cigarettes and Alcohol and Morning Glory could be heard across Prestwich after thousands of fans gathered for the incredible evening. For those who didn't have a ticket for the event, it didn't stop them from soaking up the atmosphere and still enjoying hearing Oasis live, with some even managing to see the band perform on huge screens which were visible across the horizon. Fans both inside and outside of Heaton Park watched the concert on gigantic screens, measuring 84 meters by 12 meters, a whole 20 meters bigger than those in Cardiff last week and are also the largest ever used at a concert in the UK.
