resolved 15 complaints from citizens at the Janata Darbar held at Kandivli's Lok Kalyan office on Sunday. The complaints pertained to the municipal corporation, Mhada, cooperative housing societies, and the police department.
Goyal, who is in Delhi, interacted with the citizens via an online platform.
Women from the Bandongri area raised complaints about changes in water supply timings, stating that as domestic workers, the new timings created difficulties for them. Residents affected by a redevelopment project in Dahisar claimed that they had been living in rental houses for the past 14 years while the builder had rented out their homes to others.
Goyal advised them to lodge a police complaint.

Complaints were also received regarding hospitals, road repairs, drinking water, playgrounds, and compensation. Office-bearers of several organisations also attended the Janata Darbar to present their demands.
On Saturday, Goyal inaugurated DSCI Advanced Cyber Skill Centre in Kandivli. The centre, organised by the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), a NASSCOM initiative, in collaboration with the Kyndryl Foundation, will train youth in advanced cybersecurity to prepare them for emerging opportunities in India's digital economy.

K.N. Balagopal V.S. Achuthanandan was that rare leader who represented three significant eras of communist history. Comrade VS began his political life during India's freedom struggle. He was at the forefront of the Punnapra-Vayalar struggle, which symbolised the communist movement against British colonialism. He was also a frontline leader in the campaigns against the princely rule in Travancore and regressive social custom such as casteism. He rose to the leadership of the Communist Party by organising farm labourers and equipping them for a historic struggle. When the first communist government led by E.M.S. Namboothiripad came to power in Kerala, VS was the district secretary of the Communist Party in Alappuzha. During the 1975 Emergency, during the setbacks faced by communist organisations globally after the fall of the Soviet Union, and the era of globalisation of the 1990s, he evolved into a major communist figure leading the progressive movements. He was perhaps the only leader who played a leadership role in these three phases of the party. I first met VS, the communist leader during my college days. Later when he was the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, I got to know him better. He was always keen on studying issues deeply and extending his support wherever it was needed. When he became the Chief Minister, I got the opportunity to work with him as his political secretary. I was serving as the national president of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) when the then Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and VS asked me to shoulder this responsibility. VS was particular that the issues he took up were attended to promptly. He did not care for technicalities. Also, if he was convinced about something, it was very difficult to shake his belief in it. I feel that this was both the positive and negative characteristic of his personality. He was also very disciplined in his diet and exercise regimen. Mullaperiyar Dam As Chief Minister, he was able to kickstart many initiatives. One example was the discussions held between Kerala and the Tamil Nadu team led by its then Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on the Mullaperiyar Dam. Although the dispute could not be resolved, these discussions helped in bringing the two States closer. He was keenly interested in new ideas. I was with him when he rode the Delhi Metro before the project was launched in Kochi. As Chief Minister, he maintained close relations with the Union government. He had very close relations with Lalu Prasad Yadav (the then Union Railway Minister) and many other senior political leaders on the national scene. These relations also worked to Kerala's advantage during the first Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government which had the support of the Left. Kerala benefitted much from VS's national-level connections, especially in matters of development, including railway infrastructure. I consider it a great experience to have had the opportunity to work with such a tall leader of Indian politics. I also cherish the affection and care that he and the members of his family showered on me. (The writer is the Finance Minister of Kerala and was the political secretary to V.S. BJP Telangana President slams Congress over BC reservation issue
Hyderabad, July 21 (UNI) BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao on Monday came down heavily on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of misleading the public on the issue of 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local body elections and playing political games for electoral gain. Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi during his first visit to the capital after taking charge, Rao said he was seeking blessings and guidance from the party's central leadership to strengthen the BJP in the state. He informed that he met senior leaders Sunil Bansal, Arvind Menon, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and is scheduled to meet BJP National President J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday. Criticising the Congress party's approach, he said, "While key national issues are being discussed in Parliament, the main opposition leader is missing. Yet, they have the audacity to criticise the BJP." He pointed out that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had visited Delhi 46 times in the last 19 months, but top Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi did not grant him an appointment even once. 'This is not just an insult to the CM but to the people of Telangana,' he said. On the issue of BC reservations, Rao asserted that the Congress government is trying to divert public attention by bringing up the 9th Schedule without understanding the legal process. 'Even if a law is included in the 9th Schedule, the Supreme Court can still review it, as made clear in the Kesavananda Bharati case and reiterated in the I.R. Coelho judgment,' he said. He questioned the Congress for failing to amend Section 285 of the Panchayati Raj Act in the Assembly, which is necessary to legally raise BC reservation percentages. 'The Congress is blaming the Centre unnecessarily, while not doing its own homework. They brought the ordinance only after the High Court's permission, and now they are trying to blame others,' he said. He said the BJP supported the bill in the Assembly when it was introduced but made it clear that the party is completely opposed to religious-based reservations. 'The attempt to provide 10 per cent reservation to Muslim minorities under this ordinance is nothing but communal and political appeasement,' he said. Rao accused the Congress government of deliberately delaying the local body elections under the guise of the reservation issue. 'They are indulging in drama to mislead the BC community instead of acting responsibly,' he charged. Taking a swipe at both Congress and BRS, he said, 'They are two sides of the same coin. Both parties attended meetings led by DMK's Stalin, revealing their political alignment.' Reiterating his commitment as the new state BJP chief, Rao said he would address any issues within the party and maintain internal discipline. He assured that both state and national leaderships would work together to resolve any differences among leaders or workers. 'Instead of playing blame games, the Congress should immediately implement the 42 per cent BC reservation it promised,' he called for legal clarity, transparency, and an end to what he termed as 'vote bank politics.'
