Oasis fans 'heartbroken' as legendary song missing from reunion tour setlist
Oasis made a triumphant return after 16 years apart, kicking off their Live '25 tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4), but fans were united in their dismay over one particular anthem that didn't make the setlist.
Liam and Noel Gallagher delivered a nostalgic set of 23 Oasis classics to an eager crowd, marking their first joint performance since their explosive split in 2009, with huge hits like Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, Live Forever, and Wonderwall all featuring on the setlist. But with such an extensive catalogue of hits, it was inevitable some fan favourites wouldn't feature, leaving many "devastated" at the omission of their most-loved tunes.
Maxi Gonzalez, an avid Oasis follower, shared the night's setlist on X, quickly becoming swamped with responses from fellow enthusiasts discussing the song selection.
Disappointment was rife among the comments, with fans lamenting the absence of tracks such as Columbia, The Importance of Being Idle, and Don't Go Away from the evening's repertoire.
However, the exclusion of Lyla, their hit single from 2005, seemed to resonate most with the audience, with numerous commenters arguing it should have been included in the 23-song lineup.
One supporter remarked: "Lyla would have been the biggest sing-along in history."
Another suggested: "Take out Bring It On Down for Lyla and it's perfect."
The group also opted to leave out the 2002 hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out, which has since become one of Oasis' most celebrated tracks globally. Other fan favourites, including Songbird and She's Electric, were notably absent from the performance.
In fact, Oasis performed just one track from their 2002 record, Heathen Chemistry, Little By Little. All remaining numbers were drawn from their initial three albums, Definitely Maybe, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and Be Here Now, or were B-sides released during the same period spanning 1994 to 1997.
Numerous supporters acknowledged that the group simply possesses "too many good songs" to satisfy every listener. Others suggested that they might switch up certain tracks for upcoming tour performances, meaning the setlist could vary.

Your favourite band is playing, and you're desperate to go, but don't have a ticket. Unfortunately, scammers are trying to cash in on this summer's must-see gigs, claiming they can get you into sold-out events. So be on your guard. The Oasis gigs, that kicked off on Friday, are among the big-ticket events being used by fraudsters to trick unsuspecting music fans. Earlier this year, Lloyds Bank said that more than 1,000 customers had fallen victim to scams that offered access to the eagerly anticipated concerts. Fans lost an average of £436 each, with the biggest loss more than £1,700. According to the UK government, in 2024 more than £1.6m was lost to gig ticket fraud, and 3,700 reports were made to Action Fraud. Almost half of the Action Fraud cases related to offers made on social media, and there have been many stories from people who have lost money after responding to posts on Facebook. Some have reported that their Facebook pages have been hijacked and then used by criminals to trick their family and friends into thinking ticket sales were genuine. Scammers are bold enough to answer questions before running off with your cash. A reader told us he had been convinced that tickets were genuine before transferring £150 to pay for them – as soon as he had, the fraudster disappeared. Posts on platforms, such as Facebook, claim that people have spare tickets to sell, and say that they can show you proof before you pay. Scroll through posts on fan pages, or on X, and there are hundreds of people claiming to be selling. Some will be genuine, but there is no way of telling from just looking at them. You will be asked for a payment – probably by a bank transfer – in exchange for the tickets. If a friend or family has posted that they are selling the tickets you want, contact them directly rather than dealing with them through social media. Find the website of the venue or band – it will provide links to take you to the legitimate sites to use for ticket sales and resales. Use a credit or debit card to pay online – these give you extra protections if the tickets do not turn up. If you get an email saying tickets are available, check the address – Ticketmaster emails, for example, should come from noreply@ Rather than clicking on links sent in emails, go directly to the ticket seller's page. Make sure any company you buy through is a member of the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (Star). It has a redress scheme if things go wrong. Ticketmaster also warns to beware of printed tickets, as scammers can distribute the same ticket multiple times.

Cheryl 'bittersweet' over 'biggest challenge she's faced'
Cheryl is rumoured to be joining The Voice as a mentor - and while it could be a successful comeback after years away from the small-screen, it comes after a difficult time for the star She's been absent from any television projects for more than five years, but Cheryl Tweedy's huge TV comeback will be 'bittersweet' for the star after the death of her ex, Liam Payne. The Geordie singer, whose last major TV gig was in 2019, is being tipped to join her longtime pal as a mentor on the next series of The Voice UK. And a source told OK! exclusively that, despite everything she's achieved in her career, a spot on the ITV show is going to be 'the biggest role of her life'. 'This is really important for Cheryl, ' said the source. 'She realised after Liam's death that you just don't know what's around the corner – life isn't a dress rehearsal. A comeback on a TV show like The Voice has always been at the back of her mind, has always wanted her back and Liam's passing sort of made the decision for her. She wants Bear to see that she's a strong, successful woman, and to see that life can go on and even be good.' It was reported last week that the Girls Aloud singer, 42, who is mum to Bear, eight, was in talks to appear on the next series of The Voice UK, due to air early next year, alongside a judging line-up which includes Tom Jones, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher as a pair, and new recruit Kelly Rowland. Lynn said Cheryl, out of all the bandmates, has always been the most cautious in the spotlight and never particularly revelled in the overnight fame that came off the back of the girls winning Popstars: The Rivals 23 years ago. 'She'll turn up and do the Girls Aloud tour and she'll be on TV, but then she'll go away and you might not see her for a long time,' she said. 'She's very focused now on being a mum to Bear. He's still young but he's growing up and since Liam's death, she's probably wanted to be there for him a lot more. She's a single parent now – there's no escaping that – so she has to pick her jobs carefully.'
