Aamir Khan Reacts To Rumours Of Making Film On Meghalaya Murder Case: 'Absolutely No Truth'
Aamir Khan has dismissed reports claiming that he is planning to make a movie on the Neghalaya honeymoon murder case. Recently, the Bollywood superstar spoke to Bollywood Hungama, when he clarified that there is no truth to the reports. 'There is absolutely no truth to it," Aamir said and then added, 'I honestly don't know where these stories start."
This comes a day after a report by Times Now claimed that Aamir Khan is 'closely following the updates on the Meghalaya Murder case" and is 'personally tracking and discussing the details with his close circle." 'There might be a development on the subject from his production too," a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
For the unversed, the case in question involves Sonam, the wife accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon — a story that has dominated headlines with its shocking twists and psychological complexity.
Meanwhile, talking about Aamir Khan, the actor is currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Sitaare Zameen Par. Released in June this year, the film earned over Rs 160 crore at the box office.
Next, Aamir will be seen in Rajinikanth's Coolie. Recently, Aamir talked about his cameo in the film when he said, 'I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini sir…huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it.'"
The upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Sun Pictures. Besides Rajinikanth, Coolie also stars Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Upendra. Coolie will be released in both worldwide and IMAX formats across the world in 2025.

Box Office: Mahavatar Narsimha surprises on day one in Hindi; Animated film nets Rs 1.10 crore
Mahavatar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Hombale Films, has surprised one and all at the Hindi box office. The dubbed animated movie from the south of India, has made its presence amply felt in the Hindi belt if the day 1 collections are anything to go by. The movie based on the 4th avatar of Lord Vishnu has opened to a pleasant Rs 1.10 crore net in Hindi for the opening day, and this is with low-lying promotions. Mahavatar Narsimha Has Opened Well In Hindi Despite Strong Holdover Competition Mahavatar Narsimha is obviously doing well in its home market, but for it to make in-grounds in Hindi with minimal promotions, and purely on the basis of the film's units is commendable. One must not forget that a blockbuster movie like Saiyaara is already retaining the lion share of screens and then there also is the Hollywood biggie The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with its share of premium screens. The Day Wise Hindi Net India Collections Of Mahavatar Narsimha Are As Under If Mahavatar Narsimha's Weekend Momentum Transcends Into The Weekdays, A Major Success Is On The Cards For Hombale Films The advance bookings for the movie are very strong and so is the initial reception. If the momentum of the movie transcends to the weekdays, a theatrical hit shall be in contention; a rarity in today's time. It is even more rare for an animated movie to emerge a hit in India because animated films are seen as something just for the kids, by most. The highest grossing animated movie in India has a net lifetime total of under Rs 50 crore. The twin Lion King movies have not been considered because they look and feel like live-action films. On the other hand, the same animated movies wreck the box office in US/Canada with a few of them going on to even hit USD 600 million; something that only a handful of movies have really been able to manage. Recently, even China showed the potential of an appreciated animated flick. Ne Zha 2 grossed around 2 billion dollars in just the Middle Kingdom, proving that the 'taboo' is only in India. Can Mahavatar Narsimha Make Animation Be Seen As A Serious Business In India? One would hope that films like Mahavatar Narsimha make animation be looked at as a serious business in India. If this movie manages to breakout, the potential of the Mahavatar Universe will increase many folds. Mahavatar Narsimha In Theatres

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Implodes on Day 2: Pawan Kalyan delivers another box office dud
Telugu film Hari Hara Veera Mallu has imploded at the box office, collapsing on its second day after a dismal opening. The Pawan Kalyan starrer period epic grossed a pathetic Rs. 9.50 crore approx on Friday in India, an eye-watering 80 per cent drop from Rs. 49.50 crore it did on its opening day. The two-day running total of the film stands at Rs. 59 crore approx. Things are even worse overseas, where the first day itself was a washout and it barely had any collection on Friday, bringing in just USD 175K (Rs. 1.50 crore) for a USD 1.35 million (Rs. 11.50 crore) cume. The worldwide box office tally stands at Rs. 70 crore approx; it is quite likely to wrap up under Rs. 100 crore. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is yet another box office turkey delivered by Pawan Kalyan, who is arguably the biggest star in the Telugu states but hasn't delivered a box office winner in more than a decade. There was a Bheemla Nayak, which did decently well, but was unlucky to release in the circumstances it did and ended up from being a success. The film is also a setback for the Telugu film industry, which is having a horrific year at the box office, except for a couple of weeks of Sankranti Vashthunam during the holiday period. The last year was also a bad one in general, but there were four major hits spread across the year. This year has offered nothing. It is also turning out to be a nightmare of a year for Mega family heroes, with Ram Charan delivering one of the biggest disasters ever in Indian cinema earlier in January and now Pawan Kalyan has joined it. Next up is Vishwambara, starring Chiranjeevi, whose teaser met with such an underwhelming reception that its release had to be delayed. How that film is going to fare, one can only imagine.

Bharat Bala Recalls AR Rahman Recording Vande Mataram At 2 AM: ‘Woke Up, Lit A Candle'
Last Updated: Filmmaker Bharat Bala revealed that AR Rahman made a separate studio to record the song. AR Rahman's iconic 1997 rendition of Vande Mataram remains a classic hit to this day. Reminiscing about the old times, filmmaker Bharat Bala shared behind-the-scenes stories of recording this iconic track. Bala, who directed the music video, shocked fans as he revealed that AR Rahman recorded the track past midnight. AR Rahman Recorded The Song At 2 AM During an interview with The Lallantop, Bala revealed that AR Rahman made a separate studio to record the song. 'He made a separate studio on the second floor for this project. We were trying, but nothing was working out till six months," Bala recalled, sharing that one day AR Rahman woke up at 2 am and wanted to record the song. 'He suddenly woke up at 2 am. He made everything spiritual. He lit a candle that came from Ajmer Dargah and woke me up. He asked me to call the sound engineer, but there was no one," he added, revealing that he was the one who recorded the track with Rahman without anyone else present at the studio. Bala further stated that Rahman wanted him to sit down with him and work on the song. 'I didn't want to take responsibility for recording in those 15 minutes. But nobody was there. He went into the recording studio and started singing. 'Maa Tujhe Salaam.' That emotion…I was in tears!" Bala narrated the whole event. Filmmaker Bharat Bala's Vision Behind Vande Mataram Music Video Bala was also seen sharing his thoughts behind making the music video. While talking about the song, Bala shared that he wanted to go for a more romantic vibe than making it purely patriotic. 'I wanted to make an idea called Vande Mataram, not just a music video," he stated, revealing that he worked on it for nearly six months. 'Uss zamaane mein vo All India Radio mein aata tha, ek purana sa scratch tha. There was no feeling as such; I wanted to change that. Even though we took the idea of creating that for India, we wanted to keep it romantic. It's a love song for your country, your mother. That's why it's much deeper and stays like that even today," he said. Additionally, Bala confessed that there was no prior planning or storyboarding involved; he just wanted to capture the real people. 'I was clear about one thing: I will film with real people; there will be flags, and people of every village and landscape will be filmed artistically," he stated. 'Jahan bhi jayenge, ek bada jhanda rakhenge, logon ko ikkattha karenge, and we will shoot it. No makeup, no choreography, but it should be epic," Bala revealed about his vision. The music video was ultimately filmed within 20-25 days and was out in another ten days. First Published: July 26, 2025, 13:20 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
