Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, stated the changes reflect the academy's commitment to representing the music community and recognising deserving creators.
Other Grammy changes include a new best traditional country album category.
The Grammys will be held on February 1 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with nominations announced on November 7.

But now, he has explained that he is struggling to venues that sit just 2,000 people and needed to sell 20,000 tickets to stop his tour from being cancelled.
