70-year-old man dead after being hit by car in Montreal's West Island
A 70-year-old man died Saturday night after being hit by a car in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
Montreal (SPVM) say the collision happened around 3:15 p.m. at the corner of Kingsley and Davignon streets.
The man was found unconscious and rushed to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
According to police, a 53-year-old man was driving on Kingsley when he veered off the road and struck the victim. Officers say alcohol does not seem to be a factor.
Police are still looking into the circumstances around the event.
It is the seventh fatal collision involving a pedestrian in the city and the eleventh fatal collision on SPVM territory this year.
