Home Bargains' new £6 bag that 'could pass' for £75 version
If you're still looking forward to some summer days out during the last few weeks of sunshine and warm weather, a bag will be essential to carry all your belongings. If you don't want to splash out on something that could get dirty or ruined, Home Bargains has something new that's making waves online.
The discount store shared an Instagram video from the clothing section in one of its stores and told shoppers there's a new £6 bag that "everyone will ask you about". It is sure to stand out with its bold colours and special features.
The "sleek and durable" £6 Originals Rubber Tote Bag from Home Bargains is ideal for trips to the shops or even for a day out at the beach. Thanks to its "wipe-clean rubber material," it is even easier to clean than traditional bags made of cloth or other materials.
On the Home Bargains website, the bag is described as a "go-to for stylish, easy-to-clean practicality". It is available in three different colours - white, hot pink and baby blue - and is "perfect for carrying all your essentials wherever life takes you".
People were quick to notice the similarities between the Home Bargains version and a more expensive version directly from the popular footwear brand Crocs. The brand's £74.99 Large Tote Bag is made from a similar material to the iconic plastic clogs and features small holes across the entire pouch for personalising with extra charms.
The £6 Home Bargains version does measure slightly smaller, being 35cm wide compared to Crocs' 44cm. But shoppers will likely be more than happy to compromise on the more compact bag that is £68 cheaper - and some made their opinions clear online below the Instagram video, who said they were "obsessed".
One Home Bargains fan said: "Ooooh I sense a new viral must have!" Another added: "No because why do I actually want the white one!"
A third wrote: "They are actually pretty good beach bags!" Someone else commented: "They are going to be everywhere now!"
Some were getting a wave of nostalgia, with a fifth adding: "It's an 80's Jelly bag [alternative]!" Another mentioned: "I had one similar in early 80s for school!" And one more added: "These remind me of my Jelly bag from the 80s too!"
In other Home Bargains news, fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of autumn - even though it is just the first day of August. The discount store sent shoppers into a frenzy online by teasing their seasonal range that's "coming soon" with some having a focus on the popular Gilmore Girls show.
Home Bargains is not alone in embracing the upcoming cooler season. Primark recently caught attention online for introducing some pumpkins to shop shelves - as did B&M with its slow and subtle touches of autumn amongst paddling pools and summer essentials.

The musician, who has had three UK number one singles, had referred to a hostage who was abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, massacre at the Nova music festival. He has been held in Gaza for the 668 days since then. In addition to her own thoughts, mum-of-one Jessie included a quote from the poem, which read: "I thought images of starved Jews digging their own graves would forever be confined to history books. To see the past become present is a horror. Never Again. Again." Some, though, showed the Londoner their support, thanking her for bringing the horrors to the attention of social media users. One person posted: "Thank for speaking out about the actual horrors going on." Another said: "Thank you for your bravery in speaking out against the treatment of the starving hostages." It was another emotional post from the star, famed for tunes such as Domino and Price Tag, following ones about her health battle. After she was rushed to hospital weeks after her cancer operation, Jessie J joked: "Apparently it's called… Dramatic? I think that's the spelling. My symptoms are the same and no idea what's wrong yet. But my sarcasm and sense of humour are holding on." Filming herself for what she called her first "real‑time" update since her operation, Jessie admitted: "I think people think I'm hanging on by a thread… which in some moments has felt that way."
