Lindsay Lohan has 'PTSD to the extreme' after early fame
The Mean Girls star now lives in Dubai - where there are strict laws prohibiting photography without permission - and she's happy she's stay out of the spotlight with her son Luai, two, and her husband Bader Shammas.
She told The Times newspaper: "I don't ever want my family to experience being chased by the paparazzi the way I was.
"They were terrifying moments I had in my life - I have PTSD to the extreme from those things. The most invasive situations. Really scary. And I pray stuff like that never comes back. It's not safe. It's not fair."
Lindsay posts pictures of family life on her social media pages, but she doesn't' show her son's face and she explained it's for his "protection".
She told the publication: "It's something my husband and I discuss all the time. Do we want to show our son? We will know when the time might be right, but it's also a protection."
The Hollywood star insisted she doesn't mind when fans ask her for selfies, but she feels uncomfortable when people film her on their phones when she's out in public.
She added: "A lot of the time someone who is with me will notice someone filming [and I don't]. I think I've lived with it for so long it doesn't matter.
"But then, now, somebody will have a phone up all the time. That's scary. That feels very uncomfortable. I'd rather someone just ask if they can take a photo or else you get cautious of every move you make."
Lindsay has previously admitted leaving Los Angeles for Dubai has given her the chance to lead a more "normal" life.
During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Lindsay explained: "It's just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life.
"There's no worry of like, I can't go eat at this place 'cause someone's gonna take a picture of my son. And it's just ... I feel very safe."
Lindsay also insisted that her family can enjoy quality time together without being bothered.
The actress - who married Bader back in 2022 - said: "You can't take a picture of someone else if you're in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here."

These allegations come hot on the heels of Andrew's exposed ties to alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo, who reportedly saw him as "a valuable communication channel" according to documents released by the UK's Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC). The pair still live together at Royal Lodge on the Windsor Estate, a situation many assumed would end under King Charles' reign, as reports claimed the King wanted them to vacate the sprawling property. But Edwards believes that's also unlikely. "One thing I know about the King is that he is a kind man who was never going to kick his brother and Fergie out of their home, Royal Lodge at Windsor," he said. "He's not that sort of person."

'Confidence' is the buzz word for apprentice Cobi Vitler who is making every post a winner
Speaking to trainers in the know in southeast Queensland, 'confidence' is the buzz word when it comes to appraising rising apprentice Cobi Vitler. The 25-year-old Englishman is impressing the right people in the region and he's being rewarded with more rides in the city. Of course his 3kg claim helps, but Vitler is showing enough promise to suggest he will still be well in the mix for the better rides when his apprenticeship ends. Deagon trainer Jack Bruce heaped praise on Vitler after he patiently steered eight-year-old Galifianakis to victory in a Benchmark 78 (1600m) at Eagle Farm last Saturday. And in an extraordinary sidenote, Vitler became the ninth different jockey to win on Galifianakis from nine victories since the gelding broke his maiden status in February 2023 at the Gold Coast, with Corey Bayliss onboard. 'He's riding really well, he's got confidence and he's being utilised by different trainers,' Bruce said about Vitler, who has been working in Australia for seven years under astute trainers such as Brett Cavanough in Scone and Lindsay Hatch in Toowoomba. 'I thought he rode Galifianakis confidently and patiently. He did a really good job. 'While he's got that good claim, it's particularly helpful. He first came on to my radar when he became an apprentice to Lindsay Hatch and started riding up here.' Vitler rode two winners on a Saturday meeting at Eagle Farm last month - Lead Me On for Chris Anderson and mare Wanda Rox for his mentor Hatch. 'He had to throw instructions out the gate when she was slow to go and he rode her good, I was very happy with him,' Hatch said about Vitler's effort on Wanda Rox. And then the critical word that all athletes need for success is mentioned again. 'He's riding with confidence and that helps,' Hatch added. 'When you ride winners, you ride with confidence. He's a good kid.' Vitler has six rides, all with different trainers, at a mid-week meeting at Doomben on Wednesday as demand for his services climbs. 'Like any apprentice, when they have a claim that makes them particularly valuable and often at that stage of their career when they're riding well and with confidence, they're certainly worth utilising,' Bruce said. 'For example Galifianakis at 63kg, I basically ran a Benchmark 85 horse in a 78 race and met at fairly level weights so that's the appeal of utilising his services. 'Obviously you take the risk that they'll make mistakes because they're learner drivers but if they don't (make errors) then you can run the horse six rungs below what it could've been racing.' Emily Lang is the undisputed queen of the Queensland apprentices but youngsters such as Cody Collis and 183cm-tall Corey Sutherland are making their marks, while Tasmania's Chloe Wells has joined Rob Heathcote's stable on a three-month loan. 'Like Emily Lang said this week, it's once you stop claiming that it gets hard but while you can claim you're very fashionable,' Bruce said. 'It's your opportunity to get out there and ride winners and learn what works and what doesn't. 'Cobi's got to use that opportunity to be valuable when he claims 2kg, then 1.5kg and eventually enough when he has to meet Ryan Maloney at level weights.'

Curtis recently revealed why there was such a long wait between films in a recent interview with BBC program The One Show, revealing an Aussie link to the sequel. 'The truth is that Lindsay had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old daughter, [but] people would ask me about the movie over and over again,' she shared. 'And finally someone in Australia said, 'Well, she is' and I was like, 'What do you mean?' because I know her as this young girl, so I don't know how old she is.' 'Someone told me [Lindsay's age] and I was, like, 'Oh! Well, maybe we can make the movie. Let's go!'' In the new film, Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they all try to wrap their heads around merging the two families, lightening strikes twice and they soon find themselves in a four-way switch.
