After hiring an adoption specialist to help him out, an emotional reunion is finally within touching distance.
However, this three-year journey has started to unearth hidden fears and insecurities in Noel.
His many attempts to reach out and make contact in the past have been fruitless, leaving the 22 Kids and Counting star gutted.
Despite being the closest he has ever been to meeting his mother, this progress has come with a number of consequences, according to TV Zone.
While Sue was also adopted, she has no interest in meeting her parents, leading to fears from Noel that he risks alienating his family in Morecambe if he goes through with the meetup.
In the second special, the couple will drop everything to comfort some close friends in Scotland when their teenage daughter passes away.
But after years of trying to keep things together closer to home, they will have their work cut out for them when they try and help Jamie and Rebecca through their "worst nightmare".

Man ditches wife for Oasis gig but leaves genius note as apology

A man shared a note that he left his wife before he went to an Oasis concert. He was packed with puns that made many laugh, but some labelled it 'cringe' given what had happened Oasis have taken the UK by storm once again, thrilling fans in Cardiff, London, and their hometown of Manchester – with Noel and Liam Gallagher dazzling huge crowds. Despite initial uproar over dynamic ticket pricing, it seems all is forgiven as they belted out their classics – with many hailing it as the "best gig" of their "lives". However, not everyone was lucky enough to snag tickets, leaving some fans stranded while their mates enjoyed the show. One bloke shared a "nice little note" full of puns he left for his wife before heading off to see his favourite band, which tickled many online. ‌ He wrote: "My lovely wife. Whilst I am writing this, I am feeling Supersonic, and wonder how many gin and tonics I will consume today. ‌ "Today I am going to live my life in the city, but Don't Look Back In Anger, I'll be home for lunchtime tomorrow. "There will be plenty of Cigarettes and Alcohol in the next 24 hours. I have left you a nice care package so you can have a nice pamper evening. "At least you don't have to put up with my Morning Glory tomorrow. Some Might Say you've had a lucky escape, but I hope you will Stand By Me until tomorrow. ‌ "We will Live Forever, so plenty of opportunity for me to take you to see the greatest band ever LIVE. So, just Stop Crying Your Heart Out, I will see you tomorrow, and love you lots xxx". He ended the letter with "Your Rock and Roll Star," humorously requesting her to water his "hanging baskets once the sun goes down". ‌ Oasis finds found it "absolute class" – and shared their hopes that he enjoyed the concert. Yet, one person threatened to wreck "his hanging baskets" if they were left out of an Oasis gig. They confessed they'd be fuming their partner was going and not them. The 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' nod suggests she was keen to attend too – and the care package served as a small consolation. ‌ A commenter quipped: "Going out with the lads to watch Oasis, saving a fortune on not taking the Mrs, writing a clever note that gets you back in her good books... it's all part of the Masterplan." Some felt it was regrettable he didn't bring "his wife with him to the greatest gig in their lifetime," assuming he was off with his mates. One chap labelled the letter "cringe," but others branded him a "miserable t*****" for his negative take on the endearing note. Curiosity peaked about whether she actually "watered his hanging baskets" – and indeed, "she did". One thing is certain, we're chuffed she Rolled With It!

Emmerdale's John Middleton joins rival soap for 'evil' role

The actor, who played the lovely village vicar, Ashley Thomas, on the ITV show from 1996 until 2017, is set to appear on Hollyoaks as a mob boss. He left the Yorkshire Dales after his character suffered a harrowing dementia storyline. Before taking on his most famous role as Ashley, he originally appeared in Emmerdale as PC John Jarvis briefly. Emmerdale star John Middleton joins Hollyoaks as 'most evil character ever' Discussing the new role on Hollyoaks for the ITV actor, a source said: "People usually think of Ashley when they see John, but that won't be happening any more, Fraser is about as far away from the kindly vicar you can get." Talking with The Sun, they added: "He's possibly the most evil character Hollyoaks has ever had - and for a village plagued by serial killers, that's saying something. Fraser will make his entrance very soon, and he's got more than one connection to the village with his twisted family already there.' When he joins the Channel 4 programme in the near future, fans will quickly come to know him as the father of notorious villain, Fraser Black, played by Jesse Birdsall. This character terrorised residents on the show before being murdered in 2014. A 'whodunnit' storyline, which went on for several months after his death, revealed that he was shot by his very own stepson, Freddie Roscoe (played by Charlie Clapham). He is also the grandfather of shady Hollyoaks characters like Clare Devine, Grace Black and Rex Gallagher. Recommended Reading: What other shows has Emmerdale star John Middleton been in?
