Giving up a prospect of that caliber for an injury-prone outfielder who is batting just .205 this season feels like quite a steep haul, and it is unclear if team is going to be willing to give that up.
Two of the interested teams in Robert since the beginning of the season have been the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres.
Those two organizations have the 20th- and 26th-ranked farm systems according to the Baseball America rankings.
The rankings for those teams would seem to make it hard to want to give away players from a farm system that is already a bit thin compared to others.

Rosenthal gave an update Tuesday surrounding Robert's future with the White Sox if he were to be on the team after the trade deadline passes.
According to Rosenthal, if Chicago is not able to land a top-10 prospect in return for Robert, it will pick up Robert's $20 million club option for next season.
If the White Sox can't land one of a team's top ten prospects in a deal for Luis Robert Jr., they will pick up his $20M option.

If that turns out to be the case, Robert will have a chance to finish out the second half of the season strong and make himself a viable trade candidate in the offseason.

Matt Rhule updates status of WR Demitrius Bell
It's been 464 days since receiver suffered a knee injury in the spring game of April 2024. The setback knocked Bell out for the entire 2024 campaign, plus this year's spring practices. Last Monday, head coach Matt Rhule announced Bell would be out for fall camp as well. Before Saturday's Big Red Preview open practice, Rhule touched on Bell's recovery. He said the 6-foot, 195-pounder recently traveled to Chicago to see a knee specialist. If all goes to plan, Bell could return to the practice field during the first half of the season. 'He'll be back here soon. When I say soon, in the first part of the year,' Rhule said. 'It's just the after effects, pain tolerance, different things like that. So I don't know enough to get too far into specifics other than, every time we've gotten closer, he's almost back, it's just a little bit of a setback. … Really positive outlook, though. So, expect him to be back, hopefully at some point in the first part of the season.' After redshirting his first season at Nebraska in 2023, Bell, a former 4-star recruit in the 2023 class out Nashville (Tenn.) McGavock, was the talk of spring ball 2024. Unfortunately, Bell was one of two players who suffered a serious injury during that spring game. The other was cornerback , who appeared to be the starter opposite Tommi Hill until he injured his knee. That setback knocked Blye out until midseason. 'Last spring game was really unfortunate, right? We lost D-Bell, who we thought was probably going to be one of our best receivers to a semi-contact injury,' Rhule said Feb. 1. 'And then Blye Hill, we thought was gonna be our starting corner. Those guys never quite came around.' If Bell's rehab does go according to plan, he'll compete for snaps in what appears to be a high-potential receiver room led by position coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. Kentucky transfer Dane Key, Cal transfer Nyziah Hunter and returning slot Jacory Barney Jr. are expected to be the core wideouts in a standard 11 personnel grouping. Veteran Janiran Bonner will also have a role as a pass catcher and blocker in offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen's offense. But the young talent behind those four are emerging. Big-body redshirt freshmen Quinn Clark and Keelan Smith stood out during Saturday's Big Red Preview, as did true freshman Cortez Mills Jr., who repped with the first-team due to Key sitting out. Uber-athletes Carter Nelson and Heinrich Haarberg, while listed as tight ends, could still have pass-catching roles out of the slot as well.

The Chicago Bears have high hopes for their offense this season with the arrival of head coach Ben Johnson and improvements along the offensive line. While quarterback Caleb Williams' development is key, he won't be able to thrive without a strong running game. D'Andre Swift was brought in as a free agent ahead of last season, but he hasn't been as productive as they hoped coming in. Roschon Johnson, who the Bears selected in the 2023 NFL draft, is a solid back, but he hasn't proven himself to be a number one either. In the 2025 NFL draft, Chicago selected Kyle Monangai in the seventh round to join the running back room. He was seen as the third guy on the depth chart ahead of camp, but that may not be the case as the season progresses. Head coach Ben Johnson seems to have a plan for the rookie. 'I'm very pleased with where he's at,' Johnson said after Family Fest. 'I think he's a guy we're gonna be able to trust this fall.' Does this mean that Johnson doesn't trust Swift or Johnson? Of course not, but it does mean that he plans on using Monangai, perhaps more than anyone thought. Having three running backs contributing isn't necessarily conventional in the NFL, but the Bears could make it work. Nobody has made the case to be the undisputed top running back since coming to Chicago, and Johnson is ready to try to get the most out of every player. When Johnson was the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, he found success with Jared Goff throwing the football. None of it would have worked well, however, with that strong running attack, and they had no problem using more than one running back with the duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. We'll see if he can duplicate it in Chicago, where Monangai could be a contributor.
