Director Lokesh Kanagaraj expressed his desire to make Master 2 with Thalapathy Vijay, despite fans eagerly awaiting Leo 2.
While fans are eagerly waiting for Leo 2, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has something else on his mind. He wants to bring back JD from Master! In a recent chat with film critic Sudhir Srinivasan, Lokesh said he'd love to work with Thalapathy Vijay again, but not for Leo. Instead, he wants to make Master 2.
'Only time can tell, and Vijay Anna has to decide. We can bring him in for a cameo, but I want to do Master with him. Everyone is waiting for Leo 2, but I want to do Master with him," Lokesh said honestly.
He went on to explain why. 'I think there's a part of that story which remains untold. It's there in the first one without any conclusion. I just want to do that film. I personally like the vibe of JD very much. Leo is a strong character and people love it, but if you personally ask me, I have a proper idea for Master 2 and he also knows it. But it's all about timing – he now has other things he wants to achieve."
Talking about his plans for the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), Lokesh said, 'After 'Coolie', I'll start with 'Kaithi 2'. I also have to do 'Vikram 2' with Kamal Sir, but I haven't finished writing it yet. Finally, it has to be 'Leo 2', but we must plan it without keeping Leo Das in mind."
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj's next big film Coolie is all set to release in theatres on August 14. To kick off the 100-day countdown, a special promo was dropped on May 6. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead, along with a powerful ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Reba Monica John. Pooja Hegde will be seen in a special song, and there's also a surprise cameo by Aamir Khan. Music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Who is Heisenberg, Tamil cinema's anonymous lyricist? Here's an interesting clue

Imagine a mystery lyricist in the Tamil film industry, who is known only by his name. Apart from a handful of people, no one has really seen him. The lyricist in question goes by the pen name Heisenberg, who has contributed lyrics to Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo', Jr NTR's 'Devara: Part 1' and Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan'. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and composer Anirudh Ravichander have worked with Heisenberg on their films. Apart from them, no one from the outside world knows who Heisenberg is or has seen a recent interview, director Lokesh Kanagaraj dropped a big clue about who Heisenberg could be. He rubbished rumours that this was not a robot but an actual person who had written lyrics (mostly in English) in 'Leo' and 'Devara'.So, who is Heisenberg?'Bloody Sweet' number from Vijay's 'Leo', composed by Anirudh Ravichander, became a chartbuster. During the song's release, Anirudh was asked how was it working with the lyricist. He said, "I spoke to him over the phone. Lokesh Kanagaraj is the only one who has seen him in person." During a conversation with Galatta Plus, Lokesh Kanagaraj opened up about the mystery lyricist. "Actually, I saw him [Heisenberg] first and I made Ani [Anirudh] meet him as well. He knows him as well. But, we don't want to blow his cover. And let it continue," he explained. When asked if Heisenberg was a real person, Lokesh agreed and said, "It is not a robot, there is a real person." He further clarified that it wasn't him or Anirudh going by the name 'Coolie' director further added, "Heisenberg is an actual person. It's a name we gave to him. I'll give you a clue. If you have seen 'Varumaiyin Niram Sivappu', you will know the answer."This clue has left Tamil cinema fans curious. The particular clip from the interview is now going viral, and Internet users have started to decode who Heisenberg could be. The guesses range from Kamal Haasan, Nelson Dilipkumar and S Ve Shekhar among a look at some of the reactions: But, this isn't the first time that the identity of an artist has been kept hidden in Tamil 2017, director Gauthem Menon kept the music composer of his film, 'Enai Noki Paayum Thota', a secret. The first single, 'Maruvaarthai', which topped the charts, referred to the composer as Mr X. While the makers kept the secret for many months, it was later revealed that it was Darbuka Siva who composed the an interview with The Indian Express, Siva said, "I'm not at all sure how to react when the spotlight is trained on me. In fact, we came up with the idea of Mr X only to take the focus away from me. I even wondered if Gautham was taking a big gamble by choosing me as the lyricist."He also spoke about how he would have felt 'cool' if his name wasn't credited at all. "I wish we'd never gone ahead and announced my name. Imagine if people, about 50 years later, still didn't know who composed the music for this film. That would have been quite cool, no?," he the identity of Mr X couldn't be kept a secret, will Heisenberg remain a mystery lyricist for long? Only time will tell.- Ends

Rajinikanth is working on something big about his life, reveals Lokesh Kanakaraj: 'In last two schedules of Coolie, he is...'

Director Lokesh Kanakaraj, whose much-awaited action entertainer ' Coolie ' features Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, has now disclosed in an interview that Rajinikanth is in the process of writing his autobiography and that he had been writing every day during the last two schedules of ' Coolie '. What is the big thing Rajinikanth is planning? In a video interview with a media publication, the ace director said, '.. in the last two schedules, sir was busy with writing his autobiography. He used to write every day.' The director then went on to say, 'Every day, I would ask him,'What episode are you in?' 'What phase are you in?'. He (Rajinikanth) would then let me know that this is what happened in his 42nd year and that this is what happened at a later stage.' Rajinikanth shared this with Lokesh Kanakaraj Stating that the superstar shared with him details that he didn't share with anyone else, Lokesh said that the experience was one that would always remain close to his heart. 'So, it is like very close to my heart. What you take away is that experience that man has seen. One common factor that connects not just me but everybody else in our state to him is all the hurdles that he has overcome,' Lokesh said. Meanwhile, Coolie has already made headlines by becoming the highest overseas procurement for a Tamil film to date. Rumours doing the rounds in the industry also suggest that director Lokesh Kanakaraj's much awaited action entertainer may well reach audiences in over a 100 countries around the world when the film hits screens on August 14 this year. Hamsini Entertainment, a key player in international film distribution, is backing the film's global distribution. Sources in the industry claim that with 'Coolie', Hamsini Entertainment is gearing up for their biggest release yet, targeting distribution in over a 100 countries, making it one of the most widespread international releases for an Indian film. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars stalwarts from the Indian film industry like Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan. Anirudh has composed the music for the film, marking his fourth consecutive film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Cinematography for the film is by Girish Gangadharan and editing is by Philomin Raj. The film is keenly awaited as it will feature actors Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth together after almost 38 years. The two were last seen together in the superhit Tamil film 'Mr Bharath', which was released in 1986 and in which Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had turned down offers to act in some of Rajinikanth's earlier films like 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'. 'Coolie', which is Rajinikanth's 171st film, will revolve around gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has disclosed that 'Coolie' will be a stand alone film and not a part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe

Lokesh Kanagaraj Reveals Why Rajinikanth Shouldn't Do Vikram

Lokesh Kanagraj said that Coolie is part of his cinematic universe and shared insights on whether Kamal Haasan could have taken on this role. Coolie, starring the iconic Rajinikanth, is among the most eagerly awaited big-budget releases of Indian cinema. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this film marks one of his boldest and most ambitious projects yet. In a recent interview, the filmmaker addressed whether Coolie is part of his cinematic universe and shared insights on whether Kamal Haasan could have taken on this role. Clarifying the status of his upcoming film Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj recently spoke with Baradwaj Rangan, putting to rest speculation about its connection to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). In a clear and concise statement, the director reportedly said, 'This is another standalone film which has nothing to do with my universe." This confirms that, unlike Kamal Haasan's Vikram, Coolie will be a self-contained story with no ties to Lokesh's larger cinematic universe. Did He Want to Cast Kamal Haasan? In a candid conversation, Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that Kamal Haasan was never in the picture for his film Coolie. However, the director confessed that if it meant bringing together Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan for a project, he'd be willing to go the extra mile. Nevertheless, Lokesh emphasised that Coolie is tailor-made for Rajinikanth's unique style, and similarly, Vikram is perfectly suited for Kamal Haasan's persona. In his opinion, swapping the two actors would not have worked, as each film's essence is deeply tied to its star's presence. He said, 'What's clear to me is why Rajni sir shouldn't do Vikram and Kamal sir shouldn't do Coolie. Because it was written for both of them. It wasn't like they were the only ones who didn't want anyone else doing anything apart from these two. So that wouldn't be fair." In a previous conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared a fascinating anecdote about Rajinikanth's enthusiasm for Coolie. The director recounted, 'I didn't expect him to say yes. I narrated only the first half and paused at the interval block to ask if he'd be interested. He immediately said yes. I hadn't even written the second half yet. When I returned a couple of months later with the complete script, he loved it." First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
