Mariners reinstate Luke Raley, DFA Rowdy Tellez
Raley, 30, last played with the Mariners on April 27 and went on the IL three days later with a right oblique strain. He batted .368 with a homer and three RBIs in five rehab games at Triple-A Tacoma.
Before the injury, Raley was batting .206 with two homers and eight RBIs in 24 games with Seattle. He is a career .235 hitter with 46 home runs and 123 RBIs in 334 games with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2021), Tampa Bay Rays (2022-23) and Mariners.
Tellez, 30, batted .208 with 11 homers, 27 RBIs and 49 strikeouts in 62 games in his first season with Seattle. He signed a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Mariners in February.
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Tellez is a career .232 hitter with 116 home runs and 346 RBIs in 726 games with the Toronto Blue Jays (2018-21), Milwaukee Brewers (2021-23), Pittsburgh Pirates (2024) and Mariners.

In fact, his ERA over his 41 career games is an even-better 1.99 Skenes is making $875,000 this year, though that number is expected to balloon once he negotiates his first long-term contract. Previously, ESPN's MLB insider Jeff Passan claimed there was a 'real argument' for the Pirates to trade Skenes at the deadline this year. 'The truth is, there will be teams that ask about Paul Skenes at the deadline this year, and I don't anticipate that he's going to be moved,' Passan began on the Pat McAfee Show. 'But there's a real argument to be made that the best thing for the Pittsburgh Pirates would be to move Paul Skenes while he has the most value.' Passan went on to claim that the famously stingy Pirates - who have the third-lowest payroll in the league this season - were not currently 'worthy' of getting Skenes to sign an extension. 'It's not just Paul Skenes who deserves better,' Passan continued. 'It's Pittsburgh Pirates fans who deserve better, and they deserve a system that allows teams to keep great players. 'Now in some cases, guys will stay with small market teams, we've seen that... But what incentive does Paul Skenes have to extend with the Pirates when the Pirates haven't shown the willingness – from either [owner] Bob Nutting all the way down – or the ability, to bring in guys who are going to make this team better? The Pirates haven't shown that they are worthy of a Paul Skenes extension at this point.' However, Pirates GM Ben Cherington later said any such trade talk was 'not part of the conversation at all.' The Pirates will face the Mariners on Friday after winning their last six games.

With social media becoming evermore a breeding ground for hate filled messages and comments, one PGA Tour star has opened up about his need to take a step back from one website in particular. A 2023 study from the Anti-Defamation League reports that 52 percent of Americans have experienced harassment on social media. Sports stars and celebrities see it all the time. Among those on the receiving end of the vitriol is Max Homa, the six-time PGA Tour winner who built a social media following for roasting amateur golfers' swings at the users' own request. But now, he says that the inundation of hate has become too much. Talking to reporters ahead of the John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities region of Illinois and Iowa, Homa opened up about the abuse he's received on the platform and why he felt the need to step away from it. 'The reason for that was just the vitriol you read online. It has become a safe haven for people who are, I think, angry themselves,' Homa explained. 'It is quite absurd how comfortable people feel writing awful things. Homa has had a tough 2025 - having fallen from 41st in the Official World Golf Ranking at the end of 2024 to a current ranking of 99th. His best finish of the year so far has been a tie for 12th at The Masters, while he's also missed seven cuts in 16 tournament appearances - including a cut at last week's Rocket Classic.
