The moment a dog realized his getaway at his grandparents' house ended went viral on TikTok, leaving viewers in stitches.
Like children, dogs view their grandparents' house as a place to escape the rules. They receive endless treats, cuddles and couch time. Often, when the getaway ends, parents are met with resistance and barks, begging them to stay a bit longer. Owner Abby Treece, however, received the silent treatment.
In her July 7 TikTok video, posted to her account @ybbatreece, she arrived at her in-laws' house to pick up her dog, Teddy. The home sits on a California beach, a special treat for the dog who is obsessed with water. Treece started calling for Teddy as she walked onto the deck. Unsurprisingly, she found him right at the water's edge.
Instead of being excited to see his owner, Teddy only stared at Treece as if she had interrupted his playtime. The muscles around his eyes darted inward, and a frown overtook his face. Anger radiated from his body. He wouldn't budge. He had no plans on leaving anytime soon.
The caption reads: "Spoiled boy doesn't want to leave the water."

One would think this was Teddy's first time getting to play in the water, but Treece told Newsweek via TikTok that he gets plenty of water time, although it is limited because of the mess that usually follows.
"...He's a big boy, so he gets the house pretty messy when he gets in and rolls around in sand after," she said.
Begging and pleading with Teddy never works. So instead, they pretend they're going home without him.
"We just eventually tell him, 'OK, bye Teddy, we're leaving!' Then he sprints in," she said.
'Fun Stealer'
Within a week of posting, the TikTok video reached more than 1.2 million views and 438,100 likes. People flooded the comment section with what Teddy was likely thinking.
One person said: "I'm not going home with you. This is paradise."
A second user wrote: "Teddy, 'Oh great! The fun stealer is here to take me back to be miserable.'"
"He is NOT happy to see you!" commented a viewer, while another added: "That's a grown man, enjoying his vacation."

Woman, 35, Travels to Turkey for Mommy Makeover After Having 3 Kids. The Result and Price Are Equally Shocking (Exclusive)

Social media influencer Cayley traveled to Turkey for a mommy makeover and paid a fraction of what the procedure would have cost in the U.S. She estimated it would have cost around $40K to get the surgery done locally in Arizona, but she paid less than $15K for an entire 10-day trip to Turkey, including the surgery Cayley tells PEOPLE she had a great experience despite how many people have left comments on her posts criticizing medical tourismContent Creator Cayley says she always knew that when she was done having kids she would get a mommy makeover. The mom of three — who had her children in the span of four years — briefly considered getting surgery in the U.S., but quickly realized that it was not within her budget. "I live in Arizona, so obviously Scottsdale's right here, it is plastic surgery central," Cayley, a rising TikTok influencer, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I started looking up some surgeons in my area and I'm like, 'I have three young kids, I can't spend $40,000 on this.' So that ruled that out." Cayley, 35, then did her research on medical tourism. She says she quite simply googled "plastic surgery capitals," which led her to Mexico, Colombia and Turkey. Her proximity to Mexico was appealing, but her desire to travel to Turkey made it the winner. She continued researching facilities in Turkey and reached out to those she found. Cayley says the first place she contacted, the office of Dr. Safa Manav in Instanbul, was the one she instantly clicked with because she felt comfortable with the correspondence. "They were so warm, friendly, nice, kind, caring, just kind of checked all the boxes," she says of the initial conversations, which were all over WhatsApp. She then sent photos of herself to the patient coordinator, asking for a mommy makeover, which typically includes a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and liposuction. They provided her with a price quote that shocked her. "It almost felt surreal," she says of the price. Cayley put her deposit down in February and traveled to Turkey in May. She was there for 10 nights, and had a "VIP experience," she says. She stayed in a medical hotel that was partnered with the clinic where she had her surgery, plus breakfast, transfers to the facility and airport transportation were all included in her plastic surgery package. For her actual procedure, Cayley opted for a traditional mommy makeover — and she brought her own mother along for emotional support (and to aid in recovery). "I had a full tummy tuck with a little bit of muscle repair and then a little bit of lipo on my sides. I also had a breast lift and augmentation," she explains. Her surgery took place on her third day in Istanbul, and she then spent two nights in the hospital facility before going back to her hotel. For the next handful of days, Cayley was able to rest, relax and recover, though she had the option to have a nurse come and check on her. She says she did have her come at first but felt like she was doing just fine and opted out of that after the second day. "The first couple of days truly were rough," she says of her recovery, explaining how it was easier to be away from home vs. recovering in her house. "My kids don't understand. Having that time of total rest and recovery was so nice." Once she felt up to it, she and her mom explored Istanbul before heading back to the States. She says that getting up and moving around made her feel better. "Everyone's recovery is different, but it was great for me," she says. "I got to actually see [Turkey] and enjoy it." Cayley, who shares all sorts of "hot mom things" on TikTok, documented her mommy makeover for her audience, and she very quickly got a lot of questions, including what the experience was like in Turkey, how she felt about the results, how her husband felt about the results and, of course, how much she actually paid. She's largely been an open book about the whole thing, sharing updates on her healing process since arriving back in Arizona (though she waited a while to show off her belly button because it looked "crazy" while it healed). The healing process has gone well for her, and she hasn't run into any setbacks. She also noted that her husband was very supportive. "I told him, I was like, 'Aren't you excited I'm going to come home with new boobs?' And he's like, 'Honestly, whatever makes you happy,'" she gushes. "The right words to say!" The price was what made everything worth it for Cayley. She breaks it all down for PEOPLE: "So $11,000 included all my procedures, my hospital garments, the hotel stay [for 10 nights], the VIP transfers [to the clinic and the airport], breakfasts, etc. And then the flight roundtrip was around $1,500. So I think total, I'd say $14,000 from start to finish. That includes everything. Shopping, eating out, little things we did. That was 2024 pricing they gave me. I believe the price has slightly increased now." The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported in 2022 that a mommy makeover could cost at least $20,000, but it varies greatly based on where you live, who your doctor is and what the scope of the surgery ends up being. Cayley is loving her new body now that it's almost fully healed and she has the confidence to wear her bikinis again. One of the only drawbacks she's experienced with her massive social media audience is the handful of comments she's gotten on her posts criticizing medical tourism. "I had to actually filter my comments," she admits, adding that some of them got really aggressive and xenophobic. "They don't think those problems could also happen here in the States? Guess what? They do. People always have something to say. I had a great experience with my doctor." Read the original article on People

I Tried The Vanilla Ice Cream French Toast Hack

For centuries, families across the globe have started their mornings by soaking slices of day-old bread in eggs and sweetened cream and frying them until crispy and caramelized…or something of the sort. Centuries ago, according to the ancient Roman cookbook known as Apicius, their long-gone civilization sweetened milk with honey, dusting the toast with cinnamon after frying. In the 18th century, legend states that an innkeeper known as Joseph French popularized the dish, giving it the name we call it today: French toast. Given French toast's long history, it was only a matter of time until someone took a different approach, one that could only thrive in the digital age. In April, the TikTok account @joshandmomma, a mother/son duo uploading their daily eats and cooking hacks to the internet, shared a video with their take on the ultimate French toast: slices of white bread, dunked and soaked in a carton of melted vanilla ice cream, and fried until crisp. While they were not the first TikTok account to share this unconventional method, their video quickly went viral and has been viewed over 30 million times, with other accounts sharing their riff on the hack. TikTok user @ashleymarkletreats slathered heaps of Nutella in between her bread before soaking and frying, and the official Breyers Ice Cream account even gave it a shot. While the video is shocking at first glance, the science behind it makes sense. After all, ice cream is nothing more than a frozen custard made from sweetened cream and eggs, the same ingredients used in French toast. What turned me off to the idea was not having control over how sweet the final product would end up being. Personally, I prefer my French toast sweetened with lots of maple syrup and little to no sugar used in the cream base itself. Still, I was too curious not to give it a try. I made my way to my local Dumbo Market and settled on a pint of Häagen-Dazs and a loaf of sliced brioche (which, I knew, would yield several peanut butter and jelly sandwiches over the coming days — huge win). When I got back home, I left the pint of vanilla ice cream on the counter to totally defrost, and an hour and a half later, I was left with a melted soup of cream and sugar. I preheated my cast iron skillet, the pan that I typically make any other French toast in, and got to dunking. The brioche was light and airy, and I didn't want to risk over-sogging the bread, so I quickly dunked the slices on both sides and set them in the pan to fry. The melted ice cream began bubbling and dancing in the pan in an irregular way. Hey, you! Wanna cook 7,500+ recipes in step-by-step mode (with helpful videos) right from your phone? Download the free Tasty app right now. In the cast iron skillet, the slices stuck to the bottom of the pan, and it was difficult for the toast to maintain its structure... ...so I tried it again in a non-stick pan, which proved far better results. I plated my French toast, drizzling it with warm maple syrup, and went in for a taste. Taking my first bite, I dreaded the words that I knew I would eventually have to write here for you, BuzzFeed Tasty reader. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that what I expected to be a saccharin explosion of sugar and maple proved to be a miraculously innovative take on a beloved breakfast. The ice cream French toast, as difficult as it is for me to say, is actually very good. To my surprise, I didn't find the dish to be too sweet, which I credit to the fact that I don't find Häagen-Dazs to yield overly-sweet flavors of ice cream. Reading the list of ingredients on the back of the pint, I found that they were all the same ingredients that I would include in French toast if I were making it in a more traditional way. If you were to try this at home, settle on a pint that lists ingredients you can pronounce, free of preservatives and sugar alternatives. Still, I doubt I'll find myself returning to the viral ice cream French toast hack. While it may live in the centuries-long historic records of French toast variations like the ancient Romans' did, I find its relevance exists solely due to its virality. Like the Ice Bucket Challenge or 'Renegade' dance that came before it, I believe this French toast hack may not stand the test of time. For my money, I'll crack a few eggs with some cream into a bowl and get to cooking. Would you try this French toast "hack"? Give me all your thoughts in the comments.
