Report – Top European Clubs Eyeing Up A Move For Inter Milan & France Star

Yahoo27-07-2025
A number of top European clubs are reportedly eyeing up a move for Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard this summer.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the 29-year-old is a player Inter could allow to leave this summer for the right offer.
Defender Benjamin Pavard has been an Inter Milan player for the past two seasons. He joined the club from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.
There are no immediate indications that the 29-year-old is on the way out at the San Siro.
However, according to SportMediaset, Pavard's age means that Inter do not consider him indispensable.
The France international turns thirty next season, and is not necessarily a player for the long term.

And according to Mediaset, there is some interest in Pavard's signature from around Europe.
The broadcaster does not name any specific clubs as targeting the former Bayern Munich defender.
However, Mediaset report, there could be bids that are sufficient for Inter financially – and from clubs that would be attractive to Pavard himself.
The Frenchman is certainly a player with pedigree. He has won numerous trophies with both Bayern and Inter. As well as the World Cup with France in 2018.

Chelsea Are Hoping To Land This Bundesliga Playmaker: What Will He Add To Maresca's Side?

In a recent report, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol mentioned that Chelsea are hoping to land Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons this summer. It is understood that the Blues are in talks to secure the services of the Dutch attacker this off-season. Simons' Good Record In German Football Last Season Simons enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club in the previous campaign. The Dutch sensation found the back of the net 11 times and earned eight assists in 33 matches for RB Leipzig last season across various competitions. The 22-year-old deserves some credit for averaging 2.09 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He kept 46% of his attempts on target. Simons was even tidy when distributing possession in the opponent's half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 78.6% in the German top tier (stats via His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Chelsea would have to make a good offer if they want to lure Simons to Stamford Bridge this off-season. (Photo by) What Will Simons Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca's Side? Simons is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. The Dutch talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a wide player if told to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can handle the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Simons would add more quality and dynamism to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca's frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming seasons. At 22, Simons has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, it makes sense for the Blues to go all out to bring him on board in this transfer window. However, Maresca has to give him some time before he can get the best out of the talented attacker at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool handed Alexander Isak transfer boost as top Newcastle target gives encouragement

Liverpool has been handed a boost in their transfer pursuit of Alexander Isak, with Newcastle's top target Benjamin Sesko encouraging the Magpies over a move to St. James' Park. The Reds have maintained their interest in Isak, 25, despite already signing up-and-coming French Striker Hugo Ekitike for $104.8 million. Liverpool saw a bid worth $146M rejected by the Magpies, who have reaffirmed their desire to keep Isak at least another season. Newcastle also reportedly offered Isak a new contract with a release clause, but the Swede signaled his desire to leave the club this summer, with Liverpool the strongest suitors. The Magpies are believed to be holding out for a fee shy of $200M, but Newcastle would have to soften their stance for the Reds to return with a second offer. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle has received encouragement from Sesko's camp over a transfer, with a bid worth $92.9M believed to be in the ballpark that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig would accept. Newcastle face competition for the 22-year-old Slovenian international, though. Manchester United are said to be eyeing Sesko, and Newcastle is now seeking to accelerate negotiations to prevent another one of their targets from being snapped up, as Ekitike was by Liverpool last month. Isak, who missed Newcastle's pre-season tour in South Korea and trained at former club Real Sociedad, has now returned to England to begin training with Eddie Howe's side. However, Howe delivered a strong message to his strong man over earning his place amid the transfer saga. "You have to earn the right to train with us," Howe told the Daily Mail. "We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad - you have to act in the right way. "So that is also at play here. We will make sure that any player does that to earn the right to train with the group. No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal." "Of course I'd like him to but whether or not he will, I don't know at this moment in time," Howe said on Isak returning to training. "Other people have been dealing with that situation back at home." Newcastle legend Alan Shearer also issued a damning response to the Isak transfer saga. 'No, I'm not angry at all towards him," Shearer said, speaking on The Rest is Football podcast. "I understand how football works, I know what happens in and around the game. 'I probably understand his mentality. Do I like it? Do I understand it? Probably two different things. But I know what football is about and I know how it works, and obviously Liverpool have been into him or his agent. "I just thought it might have happened next year and if it really is impossible for Eddie to turn him around and he says no, and it sounds like that is the case, I want him to be out now, you get your big money for him, whoever's prepared to pay that and you get other people in, hopefully beforehand, and then you move on. 'As I said, no individual is bigger than any football club, and if he doesn't want to be there, fine, get what you can and get him out and say thanks very much for the memories, off you go.'
