ARSENAL are targeting Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to fill their No.2 void.
The Gunners are on red alert with the Blues shot-stopper, 30 – who cost a record-breaking £72m back in 2018 – available with a release clause of just £5m this summer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga spent last season on loan at Bournemouth

Kepa has just 12 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, having spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, making 35 appearances in all competitions.
It is understood Chelsea are happy to get Kepa off the books, and are in talks with AC Milan to sign 29-year-old Frenchman Mike Maignan, valued at around £21m.
Mikel Arteta brought in Cherries keeper Neto on Deadline Day last term on loan after selling Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton for £25m.
The Arsenal boss had hoped to sign Espanyol's Joan Garcia, 25, for around £25m to compete with No.1 David Raya next campaign.
But it is understood that Barcelona are winning the race for Garcia, leaving Arteta to switch to other targets, and views the Kepa deal as a real bargain.
Arteta has been a fan of Kepa for some time, valuing his ability to play out from the back, although there are doubts over whether Kepa would settle for a back-up option.
SunSport understands that several clubs across Europe are also interested in the ex-Athletic Bilbao man, with some of them able to offer an appetising first-choice role.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola would also like to sign Kepa on a permanent basis, but cannot offer European football as a sweetener.

Should the Kepa deal also fall through, it is understood Arteta will find an alternative, but wants to sort this position quickly with other areas of the pitch in need of bolstering.
Arsenal do have two young keepers on their books: 16-year-old Jack Porter and 18-year-old Tommy Setford both made their senior debuts in the Carabao Cup last season.
David Raya reveals Arsenal career changed overnight following two-hour meeting
However, Arteta does not feel either are ready to take on such a big responsibility, while Setford could potentially head out on loan to gain some experience should the right opportunity arise, after joining from Ajax for £1m in July 2024.
It is understood that Setford is highly rated by Arteta, viewing him as a first-team player of the future.
Arsenal will also welcome back Karl Hein this summer, who spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
Hein signed a new contract before going out on loan and it is currently unclear what Arsenal's plans are for him this summer.

Joao Pedro makes decision over his future after Chelsea see £58m bid for Brighton star rejected amid Newcastle interest
Joao Pedro, also wanted by Newcastle, is leaning towards a move to Chelsea if they can reach agreement on a fee. Chelsea have had a proposal of around £58m rebuffed with Brighton wanting in excess of £60m. Since joining from Watford in 2023, Joao Pedro has scored 30 goals in 70 appearances for Brighton. Borussia Dortmund 's Jamie Gittens, meanwhile, has agreed a seven year contract with Chelsea. The winger is set to undergo a medical with the Blues over the weekend. Chelsea previously had a £42million bid turned down by Dortmund before striking their new deal. Gittens is returning to England after almost five years in Germany, having joined Dortmund from Manchester City in September 2020. Over the last three seasons, he has scored 12 goals in 72 Bundesliga appearances. He previously spent five years in Reading's youth academy. Gittens has been capped by England at five different age levels, but he was unable to play at this summer's U21 Euros due to his participation at the Club World Cup.

Lee Carsley challenges England Under-21s to complete European hat-trick
Germany came close to snatching it late on when Nebel rattled the woodwork. Substitute Jonathan Rowe then made an instant impact from the bench in extra-time as his header put England ahead with Germany nearly salvaging an equaliser in the dying moments when Merlin Rohl was denied by the crossbar. Carsley expressed his pride at his players' achievement. Harvey Elliott had sent England ahead (PA Wire) 'I'm proud of the players, the commitment they've shown over the last 28 days and all the instruction we've tried to put into them so quickly, they've taken it on board,' he told Channel 4 post-match. 'They've got so much belief, we spoke about it when we were at St George's that this squad believe that they can win and that's the kind of players we need. 'I'm so proud of them, so happy for them. To be European champions for the second time is a great achievement and I suppose the challenge now is to do it again in two years. 'Any setback we've had, the players have just got together. I think I said at the start of the tournament, the longer we stay in, the better we play. 'I didn't think we played great tonight, I thought we sat a little bit too deep and didn't have as much control as I would've wanted, but we probably won't remember that in a couple of days.' Carsley's side had won the tournament two years ago in Georgia and steered his side to back-to-back titles with a thrilling victory in Bratislava. The 51-year-old had an interim stint in charge of the senior England team following Gareth Southgate's departure last year and at the start of June, he signed a new deal through to the end of the 2027 European Championship. When asked what was next and if he could work alongside Thomas Tuchel, Carsley replied: 'I'm not sure, I'm going to try and enjoy tonight. I love my job, I'm very proud of the job that I do, I love working with the players. Back-to-back 🏆🏆 Lee Carsley becomes the first England U21 manager to win consecutive #U21EUROs since Dave Sexton in '82 and '84 💫 — England (@England) June 28, 2025 'Obviously I've had a chance with the senior team and loved that. So the best thing I can do is help the pathway and try to help the senior team.' Marseille forward Rowe ensured England wrapped up the title, flicking a header home two minutes after coming off the bench in extra time and he hailed his team's mentality. 'Everyone's exceptional, the mindset from the minute I came into the camp, I could just tell that everyone had the same mindset,' Rowe said. 'We all wanted to win, we've done that now, job's finally finished and we can all celebrate.'
