50 Cent edits Father's Day post after referencing custody battle with ex Daphne Joy

Express Tribune16-06-2025
On Sunday, June 15, rapper 50 Cent posted a controversial Father's Day message on Instagram that appeared to reference his ongoing custody battle with ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy. Initially, the caption included a derogatory message suggesting he would soon gain full custody of their son, Sire Jackson. However, the original caption was quickly edited, with screenshots of the unedited version circulating on X via Akademiks TV.

The updated caption read simply, 'Happy Fathers Day guys. What did you get?'—a notable change from the harsher original message, which included repeated insults. Many online users criticized the tone of the deleted post, while others speculated it was directed at Joy, a social media personality and OnlyFans model whom 50 Cent dated in 2011–2012.
This year's Father's Day post reignited public attention on the pair's strained relationship. In March 2024, 50 Cent—born Curtis Jackson—filed for sole custody of their son, following allegations that Joy was financially involved with music mogul Diddy. Shortly after the filing, Joy accused Jackson of rape and abuse in an emotional Instagram story, stating that he had rarely seen their son despite living nearby.
'You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family,' Joy wrote, also accusing him of 'wreaking havoc' in her life. In response, Jackson filed a defamation suit, though it was reportedly dropped in September 2024.

Internet erupts with tributes as Hulk Hogan leaves the ring for good

The death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has stirred a wave of tributes from across the entertainment and sports worlds. Remembered for his magnetic charisma both inside the ring and beyond it, Hogan's influence spanned more than four decades and left an indelible mark on professional wrestling. Born Terry Gene Bollea, Hogan passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Emergency services were called to the scene, but he was later pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital. Hogan's impact on wrestling was unmatched - his fame in the 1980s helped bring pro wrestling into the mainstream. At the height of his popularity, he became a household name, branching into film, music, reality television, and even launching a pasta-themed restaurant. In later years, however, Hogan's reputation took a hit after a leaked tape revealed him using racial slurs. WWE distanced itself from him for several years before ultimately reinstating him, though his final appearances were met with mixed reactions from fans. Despite the controversy, Hogan remained a towering figure in wrestling culture until his death. On Thursday, fellow wrestlers, Hollywood stars and fans remembered him as a pioneer who helped shape the face of modern sports entertainment. Tributes pouring in for the legend Leading the tributes, President Trump took to Truth Social, calling the late wrestler a 'great friend' and recalling his turn on the stage at last year's RNC. 'We lost a great friend today, the 'Hulkster.' Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way. Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,' Trump posted. He continued: 'He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week. He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!' The White House's official X account also posted a tribute to Hogan with a picture of President Trump and his statement. The caption stated, 'Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed.' X/ @WhiteHouse Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, 78, shared a photo of himself with Hogan on Instagram, taken from their time filming Rocky III in 1982. Hogan appeared in the film as wrestler Thunderlips in one of his first major screen roles. Stallone wrote: 'I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. 'He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky III incredibly special. My heart breaks [when] I think that he's gone.' Actress Brooke Shields, 59, also remembered Hogan with a photo of the two playfully wrestling on the set of Suddenly Susan, a sitcom that aired in the late 90s. 'Rest easy, Hulk,' she wrote. 'This moment and his entire guest episode on Suddenly Susan was a true highlight. Sending love to all of his loved ones today.' Fellow wrestlers also took to social media to share their tributes. The Undertaker, 60, said on X: 'The wrestling world has lost a true legend. His contributions to our business are immeasurable, and for that, I am appreciative. Thank you, Hulk Hogan.' Ms. Rachel refuses to work with creators silent on Gaza

Popular children's YouTube creator Rachel Griffin Accurso, widely known as Ms. Rachel, has publicly declared that she will not collaborate with anyone who has remained silent on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In a July 24 Instagram post, Accurso criticized content creators with large platforms who haven't spoken out about the Israeli military campaign in Gaza, which has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths since Hamas' 2023 attacks. 'I will always choose kindness, but I will never understand your silence,' she wrote. 'Especially from those with so much privilege – the uncancelable – who still remain in the shadows.' Best known for her educational YouTube series Songs for Littles, Ms. Rachel has built a following of nearly 15 million subscribers by teaching young children basic concepts through songs and visuals. Her recent advocacy, however, has drawn backlash from pro-Israel groups. In April, StopAntisemitism called on authorities to investigate whether she was promoting anti-Israel propaganda. The group accused her of spreading manipulated images of Palestinian children and labeled her a 'Hamas propaganda amplifier.' In an interview with journalist Mehdi Hasan on Zeteo, Accurso defended her stance, saying, 'It should be controversial to not say anything.' She emphasized that her advocacy stems from empathy for children, not antisemitism. Accurso has partnered with Save the Children and continues to highlight Palestinian stories, including that of a 3-year-old girl injured in an airstrike. 'Kids feel I care about them deeply, and that's why I have this platform,' she said. Despite criticism, Ms. Rachel remains firm in using her voice to support Gaza's children.
