Hello, friends! I'm Kelsey, your guide to all things pop culture for Yahoo Entertainment, and this is the It List, our weekly rundown of what's new and notable. In it, I recommend a slew of upcoming releases to watch, stream, listen to, read and binge. I'll walk you through my favorites.
When: is in theaters April 18.
What to know: Michael B. Jordan plays twin brothers in the new horror thriller that unfolds over the course of one day in 1932. It involves blues music, vampires and Hailee Steinfeld. [IndieWire/People]
Why I'll be watching: I booked my tickets to see it on the biggest possible screen after watching a viral video in which director Ryan Coogler broke down aspect ratios and formats for 10 minutes. That sounds niche — and it is — but it's also awesome. The clip has over 13 million views on X. [The Wrap]
When: Season 2 premieres April 20 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Max.
What to know: Comedian Nathan Fielder's show, in which he stages extravagant rehearsals for unconventional events, is back for a second season. This time, he's facilitating a role-playing exercise to simulate a plane crash. What could go wrong? [Variety]
Why I'll be watching: Does Fielder make me cringe every time I see him on screen? Yes. Am I worried his shows are a little mean-spirited? Also yes. But he's responsible for putting the flawless series Nathan for You into the world, so I've got to hear him out. [The Wrap/BuzzFeed]
When: by Jeneva Rose is out now.
What to know: Jeneva Rose's internet-breaking thriller The Perfect Marriage has a sequel, but you don't even need the first book in the series to enjoy finding out how the whipsmart lawyer maneuvers herself out of a legal and marital pickle. [USA Today]
Why I recommend it: Rose is constantly going viral on TikTok. She told me the secret to getting people to fall in love with her stories is only posting when she's in the mood. It helps that she loves to trick people — and she's got a real knack for it. [Yahoo Entertainment]
When: All 10 episodes of are now streaming on Netflix.
What to know: The new series stars Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly and combines the modern-day cowboys of Yellowstone with the small-town romantic drama of Virgin River. [Deadline]
Why I'll be bingeing: Jack Schumacher, who plays a mysterious drifter, told me he had to go to 'cowboy camp' to handle all the horse-related action this show has to offer. Yeehaw! [Yahoo Entertainment]
When: The first two episodes of premiere April 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
What to know: If you like your Law & Order procedurals with a bit more of a narrative through episodes, Organized Crime is for you. Detective Elliot Stabler investigates cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on revenge this season. [Rolling Stone]
Why I'll be bingeing: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's Olivia Benson visits Stabler in the hospital in the premiere, according to a new teaser. Their will-they-or-won't-they storyline spans literal decades. Will they finally kiss now? Probably not. I'll watch it anyway, just in case. [People]

The ESPYs air Wednesday, July 16, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The show will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Where can I watch the ESPYs live? There are two places you can go to watch the EPSYs live on Wednesday night. If you are watching the show on TV or cable, you can view it live on ABC starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT. If streaming is more of your thing, you can stream the show live at the same time on ESPN+. Will there be a red carpet? A red carpet event will stream before the ceremony on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET. What if I miss the ESPYs? Starting Thursday, July 17, anyone with a subscription for ESPN+, Disney+ or Hulu can stream the 2025 ESPYs on-demand across the three streaming services. Who is hosting? Stand-up comic Shane Gillis will host the 33rd ESPYs for ESPN. Gillis recently hosted 'Saturday Night Live' for a second time back in March — a show he was briefly hired onto and fired from before his first season due to a history of insensitive jokes. In June, the actor released the second season of his Netflix comedy 'Tires,' which has already been renewed for a third. Though the ceremony has been hosted by actors and comedians many times before, Gillis is a departure from last year's host, athletic megastar Serena Williams. The year before Williams, the ESPYs went without a single host due to the 2023 WGA strike. Past hosts include Anthony Mackie, John Cena and Norm Macdonald. Who are the nominees? There are a slew of categories that will be presented at the ESPYs, recognizing athletes and performances across athletics. Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Shohei Ohtani are nominated in Best Athlete — Men's Sports, while Simone Biles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas and A'ja Wilson make up the Best Athlete — Women's Sports category. Are there any special awards? There are four individuals who will be recognized with special awards at the 2025 ESPYs Wednesday night. Oscar Robertson, a former NBA player for the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks, will receive the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the annual ceremony. This award is presented to the former player for his fight to establish free agency within the league. Katie Schumacher-Cawley, current head coach of Penn State's women's volleyball team, will be honored with the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. This comes after Schumacher-Cawley led her team to become an NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship-winning group in 2024. Schumacher-Cawley, who became the first female coach to achieve this victory, was battling breast cancer at the time of the season. Both David Walters and Erin Regan will receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2025 ESPYs. The two former athletes (Walters an Olympic medalist in swimming and Regan a goalkeeper for the Wake Forest University women's soccer team in the late 90s and early 2000s) both serve in the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They were both on the front lines as part of the relief effort for the 2025 Southern California wildfires. Who is performing? There will be a few musical performances at the 2025 ESPYs. Busta Rhymes, Clipse and GELO will all perform throughout the ceremony. Additionally, artist Tobe Nwigwe will lead the In Memoriam segment, featuring a performance from David Michael Wyatt. Who is presenting? There is an extensive list of presenters who will give out awards at the 2025 ESPYs. Presenters includes Angela Bassett, Alison Brie, Billie Jean King, Rob Mac (formerly Rob McElhenney), Pat McAfee, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas, Lindsey Vonn, Russell Wilson and more. Woman Refuses to Name Baby After Late Father-in-Law After Husband Suggests His Ex's Name

NEED TO KNOW One woman says her husband has offered a couple of options for names for their baby: one, after his ex, and another, after his late father In a post shared to Reddit, she writes: "I'm not too enthusiastic about naming my baby after my father-in-law after figuring out that my husband is still thinking about his past" Now, she's taking to the internet to seek adviceA woman who is currently pregnant says her husband wants to name the child after his recently passed father — but she isn't interested. In a post published on Reddit, the woman writes that her husband's father passed away while she was pregnant — and he immediately added his name to the list of those they should consider for their child. "Before I knew the gender of our baby, he suggested that if it's a girl.... Baby should be named 'Ashley.' And I'm not too fond of commonly used names so it never sat right with me anyway, but turns out his ex's name was Ashley," she writes. "Turns out I'm having a baby boy and now all of my in-laws are depending on me to name my baby after my husband's recently deceased father (it's been like a month)," she continues. "Putting all emotions to the side.... I'm not too enthusiastic about naming my baby after my father-in-law after figuring out that my husband is still thinking about his past." "I kinda feel like I'm being selfish as well as he is being selfish..... But I feel extremely disrespected that he was going to dishonor our family by naming my baby after some random girl. Advice please?" she adds. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human-interest stories. Writes one commenter: "No one would enjoy being strong-armed into a pick with no concern to their feelings. And if it was a name of an ex? Yeah... that's a huge disrespect." "I'd actually tell him he lost his naming [privileges] when he honest to God believed he could get away with naming a child after his ex. Talk about poor [judgment] and neanderthal thought process," added another. Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword

‘Riefenstahl' Trailer: Disturbing Documentary Portrait of Hitler's Favorite Filmmaker Resonates in the Present Moment

Her films were taught for decades in U.S. film schools for their pictographic excellence, her images bold and dramatic. The context in which they were made, however, was so difficult to justify that she became the furthest limit of the 'let's separate the art from the artist' ethos. Now, documentarian Andres Veiel has delivered a riveting cinematic portrait that looks deep into the meaning of Leni Riefenstahl, and how her work still uncomfortably echoes today. IndieWire exclusively debuts the trailer for 'Riefenstahl' below. The film will be released by Kino Lorber in New York on September 5 and in Los Angeles on September 12, with a national rollout to follow. More from IndieWire 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Review: Fisherman Slasher Hooks a Salty and Satisfying Legacy Sequel 'Smurfs' Review: The Unkillable Blue Menaces Are More Insufferable Than Ever Riefenstahl's 'Triumph of the Will' was a film school staple for much of the mid 20th century — it's how USC grad George Lucas came to pay homage to it with the mass gathering at the end of the original 'Star Wars.' And yet the 1935 film was based entirely around a stylized presentation of the previous year's Nazi Party Congress in Nuremberg, with 700,000 Nazis arranged in geometrically precise rows, all fanatically devoted as Adolf Hitler speaks at length. She treats the human form like architecture. Those overhead shots of the Nazis arrayed like a Mondrian painting. Her follow-up, a film that has an enduring impact easier to justify, her portrait of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, 'Olympia,' introduced tropes and techniques that have stuck with sports broadcasting to this day. Riefenstahl's reputation endured in part because she doggedly claimed she was just a fellow traveler of the Nazis, not a true believer. That she had never even read 'Mein Kampf.' That she was simply carried along by history like millions of fellow Germans. But Veiel makes a compelling case in 'Riefenstahl' that the director was, in fact, a fanatical Nazi, and until the end of her long life in 2003. She died at the age of 101. He finds proof that she had read 'Mein Kampf' and that she still courted the interest and regard of other unrepentant Nazis after the war. He even suggests that Riefenstahl may have been aware of the Nazis' atrocities, something she always insisted she was completely unaware of: He details how she accompanied the Wehrmacht in their invasion of Poland and possibly witnessed a massacre. The documentary also makes some compelling connections to the present moment. Riefenstahl was obsessed with surfaces, with beauty alone. Isn't her work similar to the Instagram ethos of pictographic attractiveness presented as an end unto itself without regard for context or deeper meaning? Perhaps a surface-level view of Riefenstahl's work is the only way to appreciate it. Unless a focus on surfaces alone is exactly what Fascism demands?
