Meet The New Wave of Celebrity Offspring Taking Over Fashion Week in 2025

Yahooa day ago
The fashion industry loves a famous name. Fresh crops of celebrity kids-turned-runway-habitués spring up in tandem with the fashion seasons, some lucky enough to have more staying power than others. Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, Lila Moss, and the Kardashian-Jenners have now become household names, with social media accounts and booming businesses that amass millions of followers and dollars (in Bieber's case, billions). Unsurprisingly, hot off the heels of the latest round of menswear and couture shows, there is a new generation of celebrity offspring to get acquainted with.
Kai Schreiber, the 16-year-old model-actress and daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, stomped onto the fashion scene last March, walking the Valentino show in Paris. Shortly after that, she signed with IMG and scored a campaign for the Alessandro Michele-helmed French house alongside another rising star, Scarlett White (daughter of Karen Elson and Jack White).
Just over a week ago, the leggy blonde with an affinity for pairing Adidas pants with Margiela Tabi boots proved she was more than a one-season wonder, spotted both on the runway at Michael Rider's Celine debut and front row at Demna's swan-song Balenciaga couture show alongside her mother just a few days later. It's safe to say that this is just the beginning of Schreiber's fashion industry takeover, with high expectations that she will be all over the runways (and campaigns) come September.
However, Schreiber is certainly not the only new girl in town worth noting. Romy Mars, the 18-year-old actress, singer, and daughter of filmmaker Sofia Coppola and musician Thomas Mars, has been making waves while garnering thousands of views on TikTok since 2023. Her most viral moment was the result of her being grounded for trying to charter a helicopter using her rock star dad's credit card. Famous kids, they're just like us. Except not.
Coppola has been known to keep Mars and her younger sister Cosima, 15, out of the public eye, apart from Romy's appearance in her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola's film Megalopolis in 2024 and the release of her 'A-Lister' song and music video this past May (yes, Mom directed the project). But the three women embraced the spotlight together last week at the Chanel couture show in Paris, donning matching pastel looks that were very much to be remembered. And of course, Mars documented the experience for her collective 500k-plus following on Instagram and TikTok.
On the menswear scene, it's Lennon, 25, and Gene, 23, Gallagher, sons of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher (Lennon's mom is Patsy Kensit and Gene's is Nicole Appleton), who are on the style set's radar. It doesn't hurt that their father's band is currently having a reunion tour, the first after a 16-year hiatus—leading to a surge in press for all of the Gallagher kids. Last month, Lennon and Gene sat front row at Anthony Vaccarello's latest outing for Saint Laurent menswear. Gene is a newer face in comparison to Lennon, who made his modeling debut on the runway at Topman in 2017 before going on to work with Saint Laurent, Burberry, and most recently, Tod's. This past April saw the celebration of the Italian house's iconic Gommino loafer, with a campaign titled 'Italian Diaries' that was shot by Oliver Hadlee Pearch at Villa Talamo in Tuscany. In front of the camera were five children of Hollywood's elite: Lennon Gallagher, actress and singer Ella Bleu Travolta, daughter of John Travolta and Kelly Preston; writer and director Stella Banderas, daughter of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith (which also makes her Dakota Johnson's half sister); model and artist Roberto Rossellini, son of Isabella Rossellini; and singer and actor Leo Gassmann, son of filmmaker Alessandro Gassmann.
It's certainly not a new phenomenon, but a famous last name is still a hot ticket for teens and twentysomethings looking to break into the fashion industry. Front-row seats at runway shows and starring roles in seasonal campaigns seamlessly come along with the gig, often with no strings attached—apart from an Instagram story or TikTok video on their covetable platforms. But maintaining star power and expanding their reach to become the next founder of a brand like Rhode or the Fashion Awards Model of the Year is something that they will have to do on their own. After all, without the legacy, a name is simply a name.

Jeff Tweedy Triples Up On New LP, ‘Twilight Override'

Wilco's Jeff Tweedy has rounded up 30 new songs for his latest solo album, Twilight Override, which will be spread across three different discs upon their Sept. 26 release by the band's dBpm Records. The tracks 'One Tiny Flower,' 'Out in the Dark,' 'Stray Cats in Spain' and 'Enough' are available to sample below. 'When you choose to do creative things, you align yourself with something that other people call God. And when you align yourself with creation, you inherently take a side against destruction,' Tweedy muses. 'Youʼre on the side of creation. And that does a lot to quell the impulse to destroy. Creativity eats darkness. Sort of an endless buffet these days — a bottomless basket of rock bottom. Which is, I guess, why Iʼve been making so much stuff lately. That sense of decline is hard to ignore, and it must be at least a part of the shroud Iʼm trying to unwrap. The twilight of an empire seems like a good enough jumping-off point when one is jumping into the abyss.' More from Spin: Will You Also Be Seduced By the Beta Band's 'Dry the Rain?' Korean Brit Pop 'It's Going to Be the Best Fucking Festival Experience of Your Life': How Pickathon Survives in Corporate America 'Twilight sure is a pretty word, though,' he continues. 'And the world is full of happy people in former empires, so maybe thatʼs not the only source of this dissonance. Whatever it is out there (or in there) squeezing this ennui into my day, itʼs fucking overwhelming. Itʼs difficult to ignore. Twilight Override is my effort to overwhelm it right back. Here are the songs and sounds and voices and guitars and words that are an effort to let go of some of the heaviness and up the wattage on my own light. My effort to engulf this encroaching nighttime (nightmare) of the soul.' The album was recorded and self-produced by Tweedy at Wilco's longtime Chicago studio the Loft and sports contributions from his musical children, Spencer and Sammy, plus frequent collaborators James Elkington, Sima Cunningham, Macie Stewart and Liam Kazar. The artist will preview material from it during a Substack livestream at 4pm ET today (July 15). 'Iʼm not trying to imply that I had this all mapped out as a story,' Tweedy admits. 'The way that this ended up falling together and being arranged, it does tell a story that I think I wanted to tell. Thatʼs what a process does for me. This is why it sounded right to me in this order, aside from tempos and music.' Tweedy will support Twilight Override with an extensive fall solo tour, beginning Oct. 8 in Three Oaks, Mi. Beforehand, he'll play July 27 at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island. Wilco is also on the road through late August, including several dates as part of the Bob Dylan/Willie Nelson co-headlined Outlaw Music Festival. In related news, Wilco members John Stirratt and Pat Sansone have reactivated their Autumn Defense side project for their first album since 2014. Here and Nowhere will be released Oct. 10 by Yep Roc and will be supported by a nine-date fall tour, starting Oct. 24 in Vienna, Va. Disc 11. One Tiny Flower2. Caught Up in the Past3. Parking Lot4. On the Podcast: How Jane Birkin Became the Ultimate It-Girl

The fashion equivalent of the Super Bowl—or maybe the recent FIFA Club World Cup final?—may just have been the auction of Jane Birkin's original Hermès Birkin bag last Thursday. On the pod this week to discuss all things Birkin, the origins of French girl style, and how looking effortless often takes real effort is writer and friend of the pod Marisa Meltzer, whose new book, It Girl: The Life and Legacy of Jane Birkin, is out in October. But first, earlier in the episode, Sam Sussman, Vogue's global director of social, drops in to share what it was like to attend the Birkin bag auction in person—and explain (unrelatedly) why she couldn't stop watching this season of Love Island. (Hint: we love Amaya Papaya!)

Louis Shengtao Chen Resort 2026 Collection

Louis Shengtao Chen was crowned the winner of the 2024 edition of the Vogue China Fashion Fund last October. Since, he's taken a step back to, as they say, get all his ducks in a row. He stepped away from the runway for spring 2025, and put together a lookbook (and a very good collection at that). He skipped the fall 2025 season altogether, and now he's back to launch his first-ever pre-collection, a two-punch effort to expand his commercial footprint and gear up for the spring 2026 season and his return to the runway. Chen said that this collection is a sort of 'part one' to the main event coming in the fall. If that's the case, he put together a rather appetizing amuse-bouche: semi-sheer tailored coats in powdery pastel colors, cutesy floral separates with funky but cool askew seams and cascading ruffles, and a couple of fabulous multi-layered pencil skirts and slips with full godets that make them as flattering as they are weird. Ditto a couple of balloon-hemmed skirts and trousers, its top layers sheer and the under ones cut in white for a vintage-y x-ray look. In some, he's even encapsulated strings of pearls within. Chen cuts a mean dress; the clear evidence seen in prim and proper embroidered tea-length ball gowns and skirts or sinuously cut sheaths. The novelty this season is tailoring, a category Chen has somewhat explored in the past but never wholly committed to. Here he's made elongated waistcoats, some proper office trousers, and a great single-button blazer. Chen has been a particularly interesting designer to follow since his debut. His exuberant style and often explosive, mind-boggling silhouettes have made him a darling of the Shanghai Fashion Week scene, but it often left his followers wondering which parts of his world they'd actually be able to buy into. This past year has clearly afforded him a newfound maturity—he's kept his delightfully bizarro signature style but found ways of making it commercially viable. These are cool, fun clothes. Should he make the jump to Paris during the upcoming ready-to-wear season, as he's previously hinted, he should make sure to continue down this path.
