Fern Britton says 'it's not too bad' as she shares personal life update on This Morning

Fern Britton returned to This Morning on Thursday, where she discussed her latest TV project
Fern Britton shared a poignant update as she made her return to This Morning on Thursday (June 26).
The veteran broadcaster co-hosted the popular ITV daytime programme with Phillip Schofield from 1999 to 2009.

She has since taken the helm of other popular series including Ready Steady Cook and All Star Mr and Mrs, as well as participating in audience favourites such as Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother.

Stepping back into the This Morning studio today, Fern spoke with presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about her latest project, Inside the Vet's, which she referred to as "emotional".
The forthcoming series, set to debut on July 4 on ITV1 and ITVX, illuminates the vital role played by veterinary teams, reports Wales Online.
Inside the Vet's will offer audiences a glimpse into The Grove Vets in Bristol, showcasing how the practice operates on a day-to-day basis, from routine health checks and dental procedures to urgent surgeries and more.
Discussing the show on today's This Morning, Fern remarked: "I found the whole thing very emotional, but so do the vets. Fortunately, we didn't have any beloved pet who died."
She added: "I must say, I was just blown away with how respectful the vets were to these animals who were in very insecure situations."

The conversation later turned to Fern's newly published novel, A Cornish Legacy, which narrates the story of a woman piecing together her life in Cornwall—a narrative that appears to parallel Fern's own life.
The presenter notably relocated to the county back in 2020 after her separation from chef Phil Vickery.

"A Cornish Legacy came out a couple of weeks ago and it went straight to number six on The Sunday Times List, so I'm thrilled to bits with that," Fern explained.
Cat then remarked: "The last I saw of you, you were sitting in your garden writing... Sitting in the garden, enjoying the Cornish countryside, listening to the birds singing."
"It's not too bad. Life is good," Fern replied, before confirming that she is currently penning her latest novel.
