Running from 14 to 24 August 2025, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne promises a vibrant mix of film screenings, panel discussions, masterclasses, and cultural events. It will bring together filmmakers, actors and fans from across the world to honour the magic of Indian cinema.
Speaking about being invited as chief guest, Aamir told IANS, 'I'm humbled and thrilled to be a part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
It's a festival that truly celebrates the spirit of Indian cinema in all its diversity and richness. I look forward to engaging with audiences, sharing some of my most cherished work, and being part of conversations that celebrate the power of film.'

Released in multiple languages, RS Prasanna directorial movie entered ₹ 200 crore club on Monday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par made an estimated business of ₹ 97 lakh on Thursday, July 3, compared to Wednesday when it minted ₹ 2.75 crore. The film saw an overall 8.53% occupancy in Hindi language on Thursday. It also released in Tamil and Telugu.
