Avast Ye Hearties: HBO Is Auctioning Off ‘Our Flag Means Death' Booty

Over two seasons, Our Flag Means Death gathered a passionate fan base as it carved out a truly unique corner of television. Part pirate adventure and part workplace comedy, it was stuffed with standout characters and heartfelt queer romance. It also offered a perfect balance of earnestness and irreverence. Suffice to say, it's been very missed since HBO cancelled it and it was unable to find a new outlet. With the Our Flag Means Death banner lowered for good, that means the next step in saying good-bye is here: an auction encompassing props and costumes featured on the show. Superfans, here's your chance to snag a memento from a show that was probably too good for this world, but we were lucky enough to get 18 episodes anyway. Here are nine memorable Our Flag Means Death lots—just a small sampling!—from Heritage Auctions' upcoming 'HBO Mash-Up Showcase Auction,' which also features items from other concluded HBO series (Curb Your Enthusiasm and Barry lovers, take note). Top row, from left: Rhys Darby 'Stede Bonnet' telescope and spyglass from season one; Vico Ortiz 'Jim' action daggers and throwing knives from season one, episode one, 'Pilot,' and season two, episode two, 'Impossible Birds;' Con O'Neill 'Izzy Hands' ensemble from season one, episode two, 'A Damned Man.' Middle row, from left: Rhys Darby 'Stede Bonnet' gentleman pirate ensemble from season one, episode three, 'A Gentleman Pirate;' 'Our Flag Means Death' black flag from the opening title sequence; Taika Waititi 'Blackbeard' battle mode ensemble from season two, episode one, 'Impossible Birds.' Bottom row, from left: Taika Waititi 'Blackbeard' wanted posters including hand-drawn maps on teverse by Rhys Darby 'Stede Bonnet' from season two, episode one: 'Impossible Birds; Rhys Darby 'Stede Bonnet' merman ensemble from season two, episode 3: 'The Innkeeper;' Rhys Darby 'Stede Bonnet' original parchment letter (not pictured: the bottle it comes tucked into) from season two, episode eight, 'Man On Fire.' Prime Video is a one-stop shop for the best video streaming subscriptions

Streaming video on demand has revolutionized the way we consume movies and TV shows, allowing us to binge-watch our favorite shows on repeat or stretch out a new season for a slow burn. The problem, however, is that nearly every hit movie or show is tied to a different app subscription. When I just want to sit down and relax, juggling multiple apps just to find a show can be a vibe killer. Thankfully, Prime Video offers a unique solution that allows us to manage multiple subscriptions and view content in one handy app. When I hear the name Prime Video, I immediately think about what the subscription streamer has to offer in the way of original content. Hit shows like Fallout and The Boys spring to mind, as well as quick access to new movies that I can rent or buy and then watch at my own leisure. Prime Video has so much more to offer, though. My friends keep telling me I should check out Yellowjackets, available on Showtime. With the Prime Video app, I can search for the series and watch teasers for the show or even an entire episode for free. If I want to keep watching, I can simply subscribe to Paramount+ within the Prime Video app and continue my binge-watching spree — all without ever needing to download and launch another app or visit a second website. I might even get lucky and find a 7-day free trial waiting for me. If Yellowjackets isn't scratching the itch, I can decide instead to check out the wholesome Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso on Apple TV+. I can subscribe to Apple TV+ right inside Prime Video (and get a good deal with a 2-month trial run at $4.99 a month, then just $9.99 a month after that.) Prime Video subscriptions provide a unique opportunity to mix and match your content to your specific tastes. Maybe you're looking for your comfort anime and just want to binge Fruits Basket on Crunchyroll (available for just 99 cents the first two months, then $11.99 a month thereafter) or maybe you want to expand your options with a blast from the past like Vampire Hunter D on HiDive. Sometimes chilling out with a PBS Documentary or BBC Select documentary can help you wind down for the night, or you can spice up your evenings with a new romance from Passionflix or Hallmark+. Regardless of where your entertainment interests lie, you can add your subscription (or subscriptions, we don't judge!) of choice to your Prime Video viewing lineup and have even more access to the best movies and shows streaming has to offer. Subscriptions on Prime Video prove you really can have it all in today's digital entertainment and streaming landscape. A simple search in the Prime Video app brings up a near-endless supply of new and classic movies, documentaries, reality TV, and award-winning series that I can't wait to tell all my friends to watch next. It's all available in one neat little hub that is easy to manage, allowing me to subscribe and unsubscribe as my tastes and viewing preferences change. The Prime Video hub makes it easy to keep track of how much I'm spending on my subscriptions so that I'm not surprised by unexpected renewals. With all these great deals on add-on subscriptions, I can feel free to try out new series and movies without any obligation for a long-term subscription. If you're tired of downloading and juggling a new app for every show you want to watch, give Prime Video subscriptions a try.

Paris Hilton's $63M mansion buy led US home sales in June

Paris Hilton and her husband led the US real estate market in June with their pricey purchase of Mark Wahlberg's former megamansion. The mammoth Beverly Hills estate cost Hilton and her venture capitalist husband, Carter Reum, a cool $63 million. Their purchase topped out Redfin's top 10 list of the country's most expensive home sales, as did five other California-based transactions. Agents told CNBC the recent ranking reflects a pattern of luxury real estate regaining momentum in fire-ravaged Los Angeles. Advertisement 9 Paris Hilton, pictured in June. Paul Barnaby Advertisement Indeed, Hilton and Reum, who share two young children, lost their $8.4 million oceanfront Malibu home to the Palisades Fire — one of several that raged through the state in January. Hilton was candid about the loss in a post to her millions of Instagram followers. 'Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,' the heiress and influencer wrote. The sheer scale of her family's new home makes its eye-watering $63 million price a little more understandable. 9 A sun-lit dining room. The extensive grounds feature a sports court, a skate park, a five-hole golf course and a pool worthy of a waterpark. A main house and a guesthouse include a collective 12 bedrooms — as well as a wine and cigar cellar, a home theater and staff quarters. Advertisement The mansion's sellers made a tidy profit from the deal, CNBC reported, even accounting for Los Angeles' hefty mansion tax. Their success makes Mark Wahlberg's $55 million sale of the home in 2023 look sadly premature. Hilton and Reum's purchase is currently the fifth priciest home sale of 2025, according to Redfin. Nicole Plaxen, an agent with the Beverly Hills Estates, told CNBC that LA's luxury market is being driven by displaced homeowners like Hilton. Plaxen also noted a return in foreign buyers, especially from China. 9 The Palisades Fire claimed modest starter homes and A-lister mansions alike. London Entertainment for NY Post 9 Hilton closed on the home five months after losing her family's Malibu beach house. Paul Barnaby The other 50% of Redfin's chart-topping June sales took place elsewhere: Three in coastal Florida, one in Manhattan and another on Lake Tahoe's Nevada side. All 10 sold for more than $30 million. New York's appearance in the June rankings was credited to the sale of a 50-foot-wide mansion in Midtown Manhattan. The sprawling 22-bedroom residence just off Fifth Avenue was built for a cousin of J.P. Morgan during the city's Gilded Age. The seller, previously reported at real estate developer Orin Wilf, cinched a $38.2 million deal on the property. Neither Wilf's sale nor Hilton's purchase comes even close to the year's most expensive deal so far. That superlative belongs squarely with the $225 million sale of three adjacent beachfront properties in Naples, Florida. The April transaction marked the second-highest home sale ever in the US, trailing Ken Griffin's $238 million penthouse purchase at 220 Central Park South in early 2019.
