Former 5-Star Recruit Reveals Why He Left Florida State for Deion Sanders, Colorado

Former 5-Star Recruit Reveals Why He Left Florida State for Deion Sanders, Colorado originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
When wide receiver Hykeem Williams joined the Florida State Seminoles as a member of the 2023 recruiting class, there was hope he would come in and develop into a star.

However, that never really materialized. In the past two seasons, Williams has appeared in 17 games, hauling in just 21 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns, leading him to transfer to the Colorado Buffaloes for 2025.
Now, in a video posted to the "Reach The People Media" YouTube channel, he dug a little deeper into his decision to join head coach Deion Sanders in Boulder. Sanders played his college ball for Florida State.
'The production, I mean, it's the best here for real," Williams said. "Honestly, you getting put on the biggest showcase. You know what I'm saying? And I mean, it connects. I mean, you getting coached by some of the best. They done did it. ... A lot of NFL come through here, so why not?'

Of course, as mentioned by the wide receiver, Colorado draws a lot of attention, and per 247Sports, its 2024 average viewership of 4,178,692 per game was the 10th most of any team.

They also had three wide receivers taken in the 2025 NFL draft, the most of any program, as Travis Hunter went to the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 2), LaJohntay Wester joined the Baltimore Ravens (No. 203), and Jimmy Horn Jr. went to the Carolina Panthers (No. 208).
Considering those departures, Colorado and Sanders are losing a good amount of production, as the trio combined for 207 receptions, 2,630 yards and 26 touchdowns, which means Williams could come in and play a significant role.
Considering that 247Sports Composite rankings had him as a five-star recruit, the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 30 player in the nation out of high school, there's no doubt he has a lot of talent. It will remain to be seen if it's put on full display.

Jared Verse hates Eagles fans, but calls them the best opposing fan base

Before the Rams and Eagles met in the playoffs, Rams linebacker Jared Verse said he hates Eagles fans. Verse hasn't backed off from that, but he also respects the passion of the fans who he says scream obscenities at him from the stands. In an interview with the YouTube channel Whistle, Verse was asked to name the best opposing fan base. 'Probably the Eagles,' Verse answered. 'I've got to give them that. I like when you kind of get into it, you're aggressive, you're loud, and they stand by that with no doubt.' Verse also said the Eagles are the toughest crowd to play in front of in the NFL. 'Playing the Eagles is like playing your rival in college because you never know what they're going to say, and they're going to try to say disrespectful stuff,' Verse said. 'They're going to bring something up. Don't get me wrong, they're not going to say anything where it's like, 'Bro, you crossed a line,' but they're going to say something where you're like, 'Hey, who you talking to?'' Verse will hear it from Eagles fans again in Week Three, when the Rams visit Philadelphia.

Brewers Send 5-Word Christian Yelich Message After Rockies Game

Brewers Send 5-Word Christian Yelich Message After Rockies Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich is in his thirteenth major-league season after making his debut in 2013 at age 21. Advertisement Originally selected in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Marlins, he spent five seasons in Miami before an offseason trade sent him to Milwaukee ahead of the 2018 campaign. In Milwaukee he immediately elevated his game—batting .326 with 36 homers and 110 RBIs on his way to NL MVP honors in 2018—and transitioned that success into his current nine-year, $215 million contract that includes a mutual option for 2029. Yelich has said repeatedly he wants to finish his career in Milwaukee and his contract is indicative of that. Advertisement The team's official X account congratulated Yelich and wrote, 'This guy is a MACHINE.' Since joining the Brew Crew, Yelich has been named an All-Star three times (2018, 2019, 2024) and claimed a Gold Glove in left field before his transition to designated hitter. Over his career, Yelich has a lifetime .286 batting average, accumulating 219 home runs and 805 RBIs in 1,543 games. He has led the Brewers to six postseason appearances out of his seven Milwaukee seasons, but is still searching for his first National League pennant, falling just a game short in 2018. As Milwaukee eyes another October run, Yelich's bat and clubhouse leadership will once again be pivotal to the team's success. Chicago Sky in Disbelief Over Angel Reese Play Against Valkyries

Chicago Sky in Disbelief Over Angel Reese Play Against Valkyries originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky entered Friday night's game against the Golden State Valkyries with a 4-10 record during the 2025 WNBA season. Advertisement With a victory, Chicago would have consecutive wins for just the second time this season, and they would move into 10th place in the league standings. Chicago scored just 34 points in the first half of the contest, as they trailed 39 to 34 at the break. The team shot just 30.3% from the floor and turned the ball over six times (via Karli Bell). In the third quarter of the matchup, however, Reese got things going with an impressive three-pointer. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images After the shot went in, the Chicago Sky reacted to the made three-pointer on their social media. This was just the seventh make from beyond the arc of Reese's two-year WNBA career. Advertisement The team was not surprised that Reese made the shot, but that the All-Star forward was able to lull her defender to sleep before draining the basket while being guarded closely. "I'm sorry the PAUSE, SCAN, and THREE???" the Sky wrote. Reese was named to both the All-Star and All-Rookie teams in 2024 after averaging 13.6 points and a league-record 13.1 rebounds per game in her first season. In her second year, she is still leading the league with 11.9 rebounds per contest, and she is also contributing 11.3 points per night. She has eight double-doubles this season as well. After Friday's game against the 7-7 Valkyries, the Sky will remain on the West Coast for the second game of their road trip. They will take on the 5-11 Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET at Arena.
