Florida State Seminoles Top Transfer, Biggest Transfer Loss Top Transfer In: Duce Robinson, WR passing game didn't work. The quarterbacks didn't have time, the rushing attack failed to help the cause, and the receivers weren't able to show off. There were plenty of talent losses, but getting Robinson from USC makes up for wasn't a volume catcher in his first two seasons, but he made huge things happen, averaging over 19 yards per grab. Top Transfer Out: Patrick Payton, EDGE Sr.A future NFL starter, Payton was a key part of the defense over the last three years with 110 tackles, 16 sacks, and 32 tackles for loss. FSU was able to find a few nice options up front to pick up the slack, but they don't have anyone like Payton, who's now off to LSU. Florida State Seminoles Key Game Alabama, Aug. 30After going 1-11 in its last 12 games against FBS teams, no team in college football needs a big Week 1 showing more desperately than Florida State. Alabama Fans React to Thomas Castellanos' Over Controversial Comments

Alabama Fans React to Thomas Castellanos' Over Controversial Comments originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Alabama Crimson Tide were not themselves last season. For the first time since 2007 — their second season of a dominant 17-year stretch under head coach Nick Saban — Alabama failed to win ten games. Although unprecedented in the program's last decade of performance, it was still a successful season regarding the standards of nearly every other FBS team. Advertisement Alabama went 9-4, tallied three ranked wins, and took down the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl, 28-14. However, one offensive leader believes Alabama's best days are behind them and is counting down the days until he gets to take the field against the Tide. Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen David Mercer-Imagn Images On Monday, Florida State Seminoles transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos made headlines for his thoughts on his team's season opener against Alabama. "They don't have Nick Saban to save them. I just don't see them stopping me," said Castellanos per ON3's Pete Nakos. Castellanos calls playing Alabama a "dream" but expects a big showing against the 15-time national championship-winning program. Florida State will face the SEC power in Tallahassee in the season opener. Advertisement Naturally, Alabama fans found it odd for Castellanos to expect a strong outing against the Crimson Tide. Last season, Florida State won just two games. Meanwhile, Castellanos-led teams are 9-10 in games in which he has thrown at least ten passes. "Daydreaming, Tommy couldn't even keep the starting QB spot at UCF," said one fan about Castellanos, who is playing for his third school in four years. Another fan suggested that Alabama will win in a blowout, saying, "Alabama alt spread -39.5." "This guy threw for 1366 yards last year, lol," one fan pointed out about Castellanos' lackluster passing stats last season. Advertisement One neutral fan suggested Castellanos not make enemies this summer, saying, "I don't think giving them bulletin board material is the greatest of ideas." Lastly, one fan had a simple one-word response, saying, "Who?" Castellanos transferred to FSU after spending the past two seasons with the Boston College Golden Eagles. He tossed 33 touchdowns against 19 interceptions in 21 games while rushing for 1,307 yards and 14 scores. Florida football lands first 2027 commitment from blue-chip athlete Tramond Collins

Florida football landed its first commitment from the 2027 recruiting class this weekend from four-star athlete Tramond Collins following his appearance at the program's annual Grille in the Ville event. The 6-foot-2-inch, 183-pound prospect out of Cottondale (Florida) who is also listed at wide receiver by 247Sports chose the Gators over seven total offers, which also include the Florida State Seminoles, Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers. Billy Napier and Co. put on a show for the young recruit on Saturday, which was clearly enough to earn the verbal pledge. Collins amassed 661 yards on 31 carries and nine rushing touchdowns while catching 13 passes for 402 passing yards and six touchdowns during his high school sophomore campaign. On defense, he recorded 33 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. The Sunshine State product is also a standout on the track and the basketball court. Collins earned the regional title in the 200-meter dash last season, running times of 10.89 in the 100-meter dash and 21.89 in the 200-meter dash; he averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game on the parquet. Tramond Collins' Recruiting Summary Collins is ranked No. 179 overall and No. 8 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 272 and 10, respectively. "Three-phase impact player as a sophomore at Cottondale, which went 9-1 in Florida's rural classification," 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins begins. "Got snaps at WR, QB, DB and LB while also serving as a return man. Carried the ball 31 times for 661 yards (21.3 YPC) and 9 TD while also catching 13 passes for 402 yards (30.9 YPC) and 6 TD on offense while totaling 33 tackles, 2 FR and 1 INT on defense. Added a KORTD." Follow us @GatorsWire on X, formerly known as Twitter, as well as Bluesky, and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida Gators news, notes and opinions.

Former 5-Star Recruit Reveals Why He Left Florida State for Deion Sanders, Colorado

Former 5-Star Recruit Reveals Why He Left Florida State for Deion Sanders, Colorado originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When wide receiver Hykeem Williams joined the Florida State Seminoles as a member of the 2023 recruiting class, there was hope he would come in and develop into a star. Advertisement However, that never really materialized. In the past two seasons, Williams has appeared in 17 games, hauling in just 21 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns, leading him to transfer to the Colorado Buffaloes for 2025. Now, in a video posted to the "Reach The People Media" YouTube channel, he dug a little deeper into his decision to join head coach Deion Sanders in Boulder. Sanders played his college ball for Florida State. 'The production, I mean, it's the best here for real," Williams said. "Honestly, you getting put on the biggest showcase. You know what I'm saying? And I mean, it connects. I mean, you getting coached by some of the best. They done did it. ... A lot of NFL come through here, so why not?' Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Hykeem Williams (8). Melina Myers-Imagn Images Of course, as mentioned by the wide receiver, Colorado draws a lot of attention, and per 247Sports, its 2024 average viewership of 4,178,692 per game was the 10th most of any team. Advertisement They also had three wide receivers taken in the 2025 NFL draft, the most of any program, as Travis Hunter went to the Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 2), LaJohntay Wester joined the Baltimore Ravens (No. 203), and Jimmy Horn Jr. went to the Carolina Panthers (No. 208). Considering those departures, Colorado and Sanders are losing a good amount of production, as the trio combined for 207 receptions, 2,630 yards and 26 touchdowns, which means Williams could come in and play a significant role. Considering that 247Sports Composite rankings had him as a five-star recruit, the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 30 player in the nation out of high school, there's no doubt he has a lot of talent. It will remain to be seen if it's put on full display.
